So, how soon are you willing to go out for a run? Are you going to photographing the sunrise at 530?

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

I applaud your early rising. Alas, I was awake from 2-4:30 and didn't get up early as a result.

Great photo by the way. It tempts me to do someone similar. I should be out running at sunrise given the warm weather. But its too nice to sleep in.

There's new evidence to suggest that the Universe may not be expanding at the same rate everywhere. Different regions of the Universe could be expanding at different rates, faster in some areas and slower in others. If this is true one of the implications of this is that since we've calculated certain objects to be at certain distances due to their redshifts and such, it could turn out that something that we thought was 4 billion lightyears away could in fact actually be 6 billion lightyears away (if we're looking at it through a region that's expanding at a faster rate) or 2 billion lightyears away (if its in a slower region).

Not much different from the flu. What a colossal waste.

My oldest son is 19. The IRS has not processed his paper 1040 for 2019 and provided his refund yet. He was not claimed as a dependent in 2019. Neither has he received a stimulus check. As a part time student and part time worker he could really use the refund and the stimulus.

Have others received their check(s)?

One concern is that this is what "zero" transmission effectively looks like. Actual "zero" transmission is impossible and all we can achieve is very, very low transmission. If we are already at the lower limit (which I think very possible) how do we convince Generalissimo Evers of a continuous 14-day trend?

"So, how soon are you willing to go out for a run? Are you going to photographing the sunrise at 530?"

The sunrise is always at the same time: sunrise.

I only look at the clock in connection to the sunrise chart to keep myself adjusted. I sleep for 7 hours and then wake up. I can't sleep more, but I do want that much. To get up at 5, you only have to get to sleep by 10. That's the key, getting to sleep at the right time, and it's a challenge because the sunset is so late. But the sunset is never so late that you don't have darkness at 10.

Of course, these are indicators of a very manageable problem, particularly if we add data on the age and condition of people who actually get sick and on the regional spread. The plague, it ain't.

But the insanity epidemic and the prog tank-the-economy-first approach have yet to subside.

The only thing that stops tyrants like Evers is violence or the credible threat thereof.

They are not good people. They care only about power and they will not willingly give back the freedom they have taken.

In order to preserve my sanity and leave a record to posterity of the present time, currently referred to as "The Shutdown" I have decided to keep this journal.

First of all, I must confess that, due to our constant contact, I was rather peevish with my wife on our third walk Sunday when she suggested that we should pay more attention to possible weight gain while in seclusion and therefore I should not go through all the handouts we have from Sur La Table and recreate as many of those dishes as practicable. I told her that that was not my intention, that I was only planning on making a few favorites. That was a lie. Eventually I came to my senses and apologized. I have to sleep after all.

The Friday before that we went to Staples because my wife needed a new stapler, the old one having been broken when she attempted to refill it. We also purchased rubber bands and paper clips. She still has some work, though greatly reduced. She also continues to work on the taxes intermittently, though her urgency seems greatly reduced since President Trump graciously extended the deadline to July 15th due to the current difficulties. As for me, I cannot decide whether to reacquaint myself with COBOL after so many decades, since so many of my friends and contacts in the industry assure me that COBOL conversant programmers are much in demand, or should I follow my heart and pursue a Offensive Security certification as a penetration tester.

Yesterday we made our Costco run, chicken breasts, pork tenderloins, and ground turkey were available. But, much to my shock and dismay, pork butt could not be had, either for love or money. I had planned to cook a pork butt on my Weber Kettle Grill on May 2nd for the Great American Cookout in order to show my neighbors my barbecue verisimilitude. I am pondering what to substitute.

Also yesterday, I took the rasher of bacon from the refrigerator and separated the bacon strips into three layers of four and a top layer of three, each layer separated by wax paper and then placed the bacon in a Ziploc and then put the package in the freezer. I did this because of my wife's concern about weight gain.

Today, after our second walk, I planted ginger from the market in a pot, according to the instructions of the YouTube video. I also planted a packet of seeds found in the junk drawer. The packet was labeled "Instant Bouquet." As the packet of cilantro seeds my wife found in her desk two are so weeks ago have germinated, we have great hopes.

I am maintaining the push-up regimen I started yesterday.

Finally, my wife, after seeing me writing this journal for the internet, seems some what annoyed.

Friday morning, I go to my GP for the annual medicare exam; the one scheduled for late March and delayed because of the You Know WHO Flu . . .

Yesterday at the Kroger fewer people were masked than last week, and other than the late-afternoon TP shortage they seemed to have most things. Monthly Target run soon (will avoid Chinese junk). Restaurants will reopen soon at 50% cap.

China has threatened to stop importing wine and beef from Australia if the Australian government pushes for an inquiry into the origin of the coronavirus outbreak.

So the punishment is more wine and beef at lower prices for the rest of us?

Don't throw us in that briar patch!

I have decided the worst part about Coronavirus so far is the commercials about Coronavirus.

Every one is a bunch of people in corporate-logged polo shirts looking into the camera and saying half a sentence about how much their company cares and we're all in this together.

I do not
Need reassurance
From a burger chain
Or a cable company
That things
Will get better
And they are standing by
For my order
