I didn't even no corn wine was a thing. It sounds like it's just fermented corn mash without any distillation to make it into moonshine.

They are so like us. Only nicer.
Lots of animals besides h. sapiens get falling down drunk on fermented grains and fruit. YouTube is chock full of videos of drunken squirrels (after eating fermented fruit on the ground) staggering around and unable to climb trees anymore.
