I give Amy credit for joining this race in the first place, for still being in the race, and for the aspiration it shows for her to lead the nation. I don't think she has great qualifications, I don't like her personality, and I don't expect to vote for her or for any of the Democrats, but I admire her guts. Somehow that box symbolizes that for me. It's no lark running for President!
If you look closely, Bloomberg has a box, too. They cleverly match the floor in both sheen and color, but his feet appear to be elevated compared to Warren's who is next to him.
Good catch. I didn't watch until the bitter end, and I might not have noticed this anyway.
Early on I looked for evidence Bloomberg was on a box. But the camera to Bloomberg's right never seemed to show his feet, so I couldn't tell.
Too much can be made of a candidate's height. I find Klobuchar to be spunky yet grating on my nerves (never mind her politics). Her lack of height doesn't matter.
Bloomberg is short of more than just height, like short of a good voice, short of charisma, and short of good answers and ideas.
Bloomberg couldn't stand on a box after Trump's tweet. But look at Mini-Mike and Fauxcahontas. Both listed at 5'8 on Google....ha! As someone posted on The Donald, how much advertising did Bloomie buy on Google?
What the hell was Bloomie thinking? The box ain't his problem.
He has former women employees that were terminated with a pocket full of cash, and an NDA? He wasn't prepped for the question?
I did not know this, but..... his Bloomberg Terminal allow him to collect volumes of financial information from organizations around the world. It's a financial Facebook. This guy would have a field day with an NSA database.
....then, he got his ass handed to him by a playground supervisor, and Slow Joe?
The heckler at the campaign rally asking "Why are you in Epstein's black book?".
I don't see it. Bloomberg and Warren are both listed at 5' 8", and that matches what I see in the linked photo, given perspective and positions relative to the camera.
Why are Bloomberg, Warren and Sanders standing there? Are they hoping for an encore question?

Nope. Look at any camera angle, it's clear Fauxahontas is taller.
Bloomberg should have carried a box out on stage, held it up, and owned it. It would have diffused Trump's attack. But he didn't. Trump baited him, and he bit.

I think that's the high soles of the shoes he's wearing
Why? Does the White House need a tall quarterback?
The last person to win the Presidency who was under 5'10 was William McKinley at 5'7 way back in 1896. That was way before the age of TV and Televised debates. The average height for a male back then was much lower too.
Now you may say "Oh, come on! We're way beyond height mattering. This is 2020 and people are much more sophisticated". But it's a fact that people have preference biases that are both conscious and subconscious. Any modern dating site will tell you that women heavily prefer taller men.
Now, is height going to be a determining factor in selecting a candidate? Probably not, but it is a factor.
The order in which they stood made Bloomberg look more in line. He was next to Warren and then Sanders followed by Biden. They all seemed aligned in ascending order of height until Biden and then back down.

McKinley was a Union Army veteran. At 5'7" he would have been average height for his generation.
So, thank you Nonapod, the data show we gravitate to the physical leader as well as the political. Or those categories overlap. Even in the world of literacy and telecommunications, the tribesman in us salutes him. But the French did love Napoleon.
What a tiny box! I'd be so nervous/agitated/anxious I could almost count on stepping off the box and falling at some point in the proceedings-- what a spectacle that'd be. A point or two to Senator Klobuchar for not doing this.
Kai Akker's link is interesting in that it puts Trump at 6’1”. Seeing him next to Trudeau I find this quite credible. Trump looks a shade shorter than Trudeau in two pictures I have seen.
Yeah, women are the fairer, petite half of humankind. That said, gender has a normal distribution. Men and women are equal in rights and complementary in Nature.
I found that National Pulse article by Raheem Kassan to be very informative: I had no idea about Bloomberg Terminals and chat rooms and whatnot. One knows of course that huge corporations manage and buy and sell data, and that the feds' operations are massive as well but I hadn't associated Mr Bloomberg with it so directly, not really.
Don't you think billionaire Bloomberg has special shoes? If ordinary men could be "elevator shoes," the incredibly rich guy has made-to-order shoes to build up his height. Think about it: Do you ever see him barefoot? But then, when have you ever seen a presidential candidate's feet?

No wonder she looked taller than Bloomberg.
At 5'8 Elizabeth Warren is slightly taller than Bloomberg's billed height of 5'7. He needs some bigger lifts.
What's in the box? What's in the fucking box?
But she's wearing flat shoes. She could have worn heels.

If called on it, can she say she's not as easy to intimidate as Mini-Mike.
Good catch. I didn't watch until the bitter end, and I might not have noticed this anyway.

Amy K votes like a conventional leftwinger, but, for tone and style, she is clearly the most sane on the stage.
The challenge, though, is that she is irrelevant. The race is between Bernie's socialism and Bloomy's money to try and stop Bernie.
I don't watch political debates. Have they all been that garish?
“Box”. Heh.

Really, not a good week for Bloomie!!
I'm sure there's a gynecological joke in there somewhere.

Amy's booster box had triple-reinforced corner joints.
What the hell was Bloomie thinking? The box ain't his problem.
Indeed. He could have had a box, and like Trump, make everybody talk about the box rather than the NDA's.

The Lollipop Guild, a socialist w/ a heart condition, and a demented ex-VP.
"Who's on a box?" is the take-away ? Sad.
Hillary waits in the wings, with jaw unhinged
Mr. President, we must not allow a debate box gap!

Amy's presence in the Presidential race gives hope to seventh grade Social Studies teachers all across the country.
"If you look closely, Bloomberg has a box, too."
Wrong.

Another rule waiting to be broken, I suspect. Along with gender someday. Height does look good in pictures with foreign leaders, though.
FDR.
But she's wearing flat shoes. She could have worn heels.
She is wearing sensible shoes to show her Minnesota sensibilities.
My (life long Democrat) wife refers to the look alternately as Midwest Republican and Minnesota dyke.
The order in which they stood made Bloomberg look more in line. He was next to Warren and then Sanders followed by Biden. They all seemed aligned in ascending order of height until Biden and then back down.
FDR.
Was 5'10 and for most of his public appearences he was propped up with leg braces. Most people weren't even aware of his condition at the time.
Warren is 5’6”
Bloomberg is 5’4”
Biden is the tallest. 6’1 with good posture. Warren also has good posture. Bernie was probably 6’0 when he was younger but his posture sucks

Mini Mike should have owned it, coming out with a seven inch box - one inch per ten billion of net worth.
Teddy Roosevelt, 5'8 or 5'9. Just looked bigger!
Nonapod is wrong. FDR was 6’2”, taller than Reagan.

Napoleon was about average height for a French male at the time. The myth of him being short was British propaganda.

Thank you, Amexpat. Still sounds uncertain, but I learned this:
"The French inch was actually longer than the British inch"
https://www.thoughtco.com/was-napoleon-bonaparte-short-1221108
"If you look closely, Bloomberg has a box, too."
Wrong.
The man on the grassy knoll.
Yeah, women are the fairer, petite half of humankind. That said, gender has a normal distribution. Men and women are equal in rights and complementary in Nature.
"The French inch was actually longer than the British inch"
The penis jokes just write themselves.
You know that has to be an urban legend. It just sounds to good to be true.
Bloombucks should have stood on a big pile of cash
"Whomp 'um!!" said Warren. "That's my plan for Mike tonite"
"The French inch was actually longer than the British inch"
That's why the French went metric in 1799.

What's in the box?
Her salad comb.
Google gives Warren at 5' 8" and Bloomberg at 5' 8" as well, but if you look at the photos of them together it looks like she is taller.
It could be the shoes, but I wonder if Google isn't just wrong.
Amy Klobuchar is shorter than both, even in heels.
John Borell had me stumped for a couple of minutes- knew I recognized the quote, but couldn't immediately place it.
But she's a gurrrrrrrl....
"It could be the shoes..."
