Gallup reports its new "Mood of the Nation" poll.
65% are "very satisfied" — also a new high.
Republicans are happier than Democrats — 93% compared to 86%.
The happiest age group is 18-34 — at 92%.

Happy Days are here again
“The world is so full of a number of things, I 'm sure we should all be as happy as kings.” ― Robert Louis Stevenson.
But, but under socialism 100% will be satisfied.
“Now, let's kill it... says every Democrat”
Yes. Democrat success (well actually, Establishment success) is always dependent on human misery. That’s baked in the ideology. So when supplies are low it’s imperative that they go out and create more.
So weird how just 8 short years ago we were seeing articles about funemployment and Nacypants Pelosi was crowing about unemployed youth having "time for art" without those pesky jobs other slobs have to slog through. Yes it was THE NEW NORMAL and Obama was going to guide us on our soft landing during the Age of Decline.
Suddenly there's optimism. How odd!
What do you do when you have a good thing going? Baby, don't change a thing! (Nathan's Hot Dog ad).
The happiest age group is 18-34
I didn't expect that. I assumed that a lot more young people were unhappy (hence, Bernie). Guess I shouldn't pay attention to the news or social media.
MAGA!
So much for the younger people who like Bernie and his Socialism bullshit.
Dog owners.
Rejoice and make merry!
Bernie and Warren = death of Seattle.
But the left keep their faith anyway.
LOL
They are happy because they know Bernie will be president and the Senate will be controlled by the dems come November. Yeah, that's the ticket!
Being 18-34 is the only thing that would make me happier. 😜
See, Trump is correct. Keep America Great.
The Michael Moore/Bernie left want you to buy what their selling in Castro's Family dictator for life Cuba.
It's all a lie.
Happy Times are here again. And all it took was a long fight by a fighting President actually fighting for us instead of fighting secretly against us to pocket Soros's stolen money.
"Rejoice and make merry!"
:)

Do they have crosstabs by all 57 genders?
Yep that's why I don't get depressed about any of the bullshit that is radiated from the popular culture machine.
I've lived in center Mass for the last 8 months. The whole Masshole meme is fake news. I used to live in the south I know what friendly people are like these people up here are friendly mildly sarcastic but usually very sincere. You get the feeling that everyone is part of a big team. It must have to do with the weather and the shoveling and the sliding and skidding
It takes a lot of work to convince people who are happy with their lives that the nation is on the wrong track. But the Democrats and the media are up for the challenge!
Being 18-34 is the only thing that would make me happier.
Only if I knew then what I know now.
First Sgt.Williams of Delta Company, 508 PIR, Third Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division agrees. Life is good under Commander in Chief Trump.
So is Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan out of touch? She spent a lot of time after the SOU telling us that things are not going well in America.
You know what makes me happy?
In Iowa, there is a Pocahontas County , and, Yes, as the Iowa Caucus results continue to dribble in, Liz Warren appears to be winning it!
Bwahahahahah!
The amount of unqualyfied good news I've absorbed in the past week or so has kicked my natural skeptisism into overdrive. The only pieces of information that I would describe as negative are the rampant coronavirus and Mitt Romney's bizaare behavior. And truthfully I can see silver linings in both.
It’s interesting to note that the happiest group is also the group most convinced that the Trump election win would end the world as we know it.
Emo-kids hardest hit.
@Francisco D. (9:10), amen, brother. I got a couple things right (the area of technology I went into), and one big thing abundantly right (the woman I married), but I’d sure like mulligans on a lot of other decisions I made.
Apparently the didn't poll sour puss Pelosi.
Why not, It's the Age of Trump. I bet even Inga is happy!
I'm suspicious that Democrats are majority happy. Did you see the SOTU? Every good piece of news seemed to make them sadder. One side of the chamber looked like a funeral. Those people should be kept away from guns, sleeping pills and cliffs. We could lose half the country to suicide in 2020.
It all depends how Gallup asked the question. Whenever I screwed up, my Dad would ask "Are you happy?"
I'd like to hear what Democrats are happy about.
So, folks think they're happy under Trump, eh?
Just wait until November when the liberal/lefty bourgeois look longingly at their 401K accounts and wonder how much of that income they want to sacrifice by voting Democrat. If it's Biden or Bloomberg, the values won't fall immediately, and maybe not by much long term. But, any of the others, especially from the "socialist" wing, and the accounts will crater overnight, and it'll be money right out of their pockets.
It'll be a conscience or pocketbook moment.
Progs don't set out to make people happy. They want to make us good and they want the power to make us good.

,I'm suspicious that Democrats are majority happy. Did you see the SOTU? Every good piece of news seemed to make them sadder.
A few hundred grumps mugging for the camera is hardly representative of the overall mood of hundreds of millions of people. At any rate, it was clearly largely an act. They've all known the outcome of the whole farce since at least November. It's all just a game to them anyway. But even those that may be genuinely experiencing the sadz are probably more worried about their reelection prospects more than anything Trump has done or may do in the future. They couldn't care less about the state of the country.

I read a lot about politics, and two days later this is the very first reference I have seen tot he Democrat response. It is like it didn't happen...
The whole Masshole meme is fake news.
Put a Trump sticker on your car and west a MAGA hat and report back.
I'm genuinely curious what would happen.
"New High of 90% of Americans Satisfied With Personal Life."
Now is the time to Make the Personal Political?
The personal is political, also termed The private is political, is a political argument used as a rallying slogan of student movement and second-wave feminism from the late 1960s. It underscored the connections between personal experience and larger social and political structures. In the context of the feminist movement of the 1960s and 1970s, it was a challenge to the nuclear family and family values.[1] The phrase has been repeatedly described as a defining characterization of second-wave feminism, radical feminism, women's studies, or feminism in general.
Of course I'm doing well...I planned for it. And my friends and family are doing well.
It's those other people who are miserable, I'm sure.
Tiny houses for all!

That makes sense. If you know the world is going to end in 11 years then you might as well make the most of it.

The happiest age group is 18-34 — at 92%.
Is THAT why there are the Bernie Bros? They're Tired of being happy, and want it to Stop; NOW!
That 18-2034 cohort could be happy because they get to vote for Bern. Who knows at this point.
Or they haven’t left the pot shop yet.
I'm genuinely curious as to why you think this is noteworthy.
Cuz money buys happiness. It also represented the extrema of their sample groups.
So I'm genuinely curious, sort of, why you find the income results less noteworthy than "Republicans are happier than Democrats" (a smaller difference) or "The happiest age group is 18-34", who are a trivial "2% happier" than people over 55? That difference is within their sampling error (check their PDF).

Permanent increase in living standards. What we need now is communism.
Yet 25% less watched this year’s SOTU.
Still own the house my ex and I lived in when we were in our thirties. It’s a rental now. I was working in it the other day, and even though it was a small house in a sketchy neighborhood, I still got a contact hight of happiness being in it, just left over from being young with young kids.
"he whole Masshole meme is fake news.”
Wait what? Masshole has to do with drivers, and if you think it is fake, I might actually doubt that you have ever been there. Driving like a normal Boston driver in say, Coos County is going to get you labeled. And when every time somebody pulls an asshole move on you, and you almost always see one of those white plates with the red letters...
Though Quebec drivers are pretty bad too, but mostly with them it’s speeding, which is understandable since their province dwarfs Texas.

House Democrats to vote to take controversial California 'gig economy' regulations national
Throwing people out of jobs will make people vote Dem.
Not allowing working parents flexibility in their working schedules is a great idea.
It’s like the Dem party knows what’s best for you.
There are a lot of Cali voters getting it good and hard there and the face of this bill disaster is a tone-deaf woman.
And lawsuits over this.
Clearly it's time to change leadership! Everyone is too happy.
/puritan
Dems could be happy they get to vote for Bern ....
Rep. Virginia Foxx, a North Carolina Republican and the top minority member of the Education and Labor Committee, slammed the bill. “By incorporating California’s newly enacted, highly restrictive definition of employee, the PRO Act will deprive millions of Americans the opportunity to work independently and start their own businesses," she said.
The PRO Act is a top union priority. "An entire union-busting industry now works nonstop to block workers from exercising the freedom that the law is supposed to protect," AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said at a press conference on Wednesday. "It is not an exaggeration to say this is the most significant piece of legislation that will come before the House this year."
The unions are “starving” and Dem coffers are “starving” from fewer people choosing to be in unions.
So unionize most of the country and think about all those wages taken for union dues that flow right back to the Dems.
Uninterrupted money.

China to cut tariffs in half on $75 billion of U.S. goods

Just amazing what a good economy and jobs all around can do!
Now how did that happen?
"China to cut tariffs in half on $75 billion of U.S. goods"
ANOTHER "unpossible" occurrence as LLR-lefty Chuck and ARM and Freder and all the rest of the leftists told us for years that Trump's policies would result in no new trade deals, runaway inflation, recession across all sectors, increased unemployment, falling productivity, no new jobs created and TRADE WARS THAT WOULD LITERALLY KILL US ALL.
And yet, and yet, here we are.
LLR-lefty Chuck officially maintains his "perfect" 100% MSM-driven Economic Prediction Failure Rate.
The good news is that LLR-lefty Chuck has only been 100% wrong over the last 4 years in terms of economic predictions, and not 110% wrong.
Well done Chuckie!
I agree with Beasts of England @9:02 AM with the qualification that I would know then what I know now.
Truly, things have never been better in my lifetime, at least since I started paying attention at around age 10.
Nancy was just now explaining how this is all Obama's doing.
You can't make this up.
Nervous Nancy is not happy with a President whose conduct demeans the USA every day.Trump has driven her insane.Like Romney she resorts to her being a sincere Christian as her excuse for losing to Trump.
Apparently today's CIA talking point is that Trump is faking being a believer in Christ. The Dem talking heads are taking Romney's lead and leading off with that accusation. Trump has driven the CIA's Psyops Dept crazy too.
Paul: "Now how did that happen?"
According to Nancy Pelosi and AOC and LLR-lefty Chuck, its all that "magnificent" obama baby!
All of it.
Every bit.
Except for the stuff Trump has messed up.
Otherwise its every bit that dreamy, "magnificent" and brilliant obambi.
Pelosi was trying to pull that one this morning and since LLR-lefty Chuck NEVER fails to advance lefty talking points of the day, we can all expect a Chuckie-driven full court press to Recognize and Praise the Brilliance of Obambi.
’TRADE WARS THAT WOULD LITERALLY KILL US ALL.’
I’m still dead from Net Neutrality. Although, I am getting better.
Obama deserves some credit. When he left office, life improved.
Congratulations to all of us who survived the Imminent Climate Collapse. Through our perseverance, it keeps getting pushed back the last 30 years.
This just demonstrates, I believe, that the loudest people in the media aren't representative of the nation as a whole. I take comfort in this.

Maybe the last 20 years of CO2 caused sea level rise has been accumulating in a hidden part of the ocean where it will be released soon and drown everybody. Spread the word. Science Uber Alles.
The economy was getting incrementally better under Obama. You can look at the numbers.
But we are 3 years into Trump and the economy is finally working for the working class.
"A rising tide lifts all boats"
...Surf's up, baby!! Keep On Trumpin'
Beasts: "I’m still dead from Net Neutrality. Although, I am getting better."
Trump turned LLR-lefty Chuck into a "neut" (as opposed to a newt) and Chuckie is not getting better.
There's just a massive disconnect between regular people and politico-media types. Hence, why the much hyped impeachment drama was such a dud. It barely blipped on people's radars.
I think it's because Phony Outrage Fatigue has set it. People are increasingly tuned out and trying to go about their lives. After 3 years of the media and Democrats catastrophizing about Trump the Nazi, they've noticed their lives haven't actually been negatively affected under this administration. Which is not to say they like Trump. They're just tuned out.
Honestly, if Trump could stop committing so many unforced errors, both in rhetoric and in substance, he'd be sitting pretty at 60% approval rating.
@Gilbar,
Are you telling me that Liz Warren has now LOST Pocahontas County, Iowa?!!?
That makes me even happier!
Rejoice and make the inept Iowa caucuses even merrier!
Don’t get cocky. It’s a long way to November.

Congratulations to all of us who survived the Imminent Climate Collapse. Through our perseverance, it keeps getting pushed back the last 30 years.
A fraction of a fraction... Perhaps longer: "Nature Has Been Removing Excess CO2 4X Faster than IPCC Models" - Dr. Roy Spencer/wattsupwiththat.com
They've been caught sampling between the lines as it were. The models (i.e. hypotheses) require regular injections of brown matter ("tuning") to sustain a consensus with reality. There is strong debate whether the quality of change will have negative or positive effects.
That said, perhaps you mean political climate, which has indeed collapsed. However, the short-term forecast offers cause for cautious optimism.
"New High of 90% of Americans Satisfied With Personal Life."
And the other 10% are just dissatisfied with the satisfaction of the 90%.
We're moving from Cook County across the border to Indiana. The house we bought is newer, bigger, and in better condition than the house we're moving out of. The taxes are 8k less. We were able to pay mostly cash for the new house and pay off our old house. Cost of living will be plummeting. Gas in Indiana is 50 cents cheaper than in Illinois. And the area we're moving to is redder than red, voting for Trump in landslide numbers.
Are we happy? You bet we're happy.

Yes, money buys happiness, but you're just restating what your original post says. Why is it noteworthy that money buys happiness? Didn't you already know that?
Fernandistein: So I'm genuinely curious, sort of, why you find the income results less noteworthy than "Republicans are happier than Democrats" (a smaller difference) or "The happiest age group is 18-34", who are a trivial "2% happier" than people over 55? The difference between Reps and Dems isn't nearly as axiomatic as the difference between rich and poor - and while it doesn't surprise me, it might surprise some Dems.
Neither the rich nor the poor are surprised that the rich are happier than the poor.
Seems to me, depending on the party, some “rich” haven’t been happy for 3 years. They’ve expended a lot of wealth to let everyone know how miserable they are.
BTW, a casual observation: the 2020s might surpass the “decade of greed.”
"The economy was getting incrementally better under Obama. You can look at the numbers."
Of course. Following a recession it's virtually impossible not to have improvement. It's like trying to stop an opera singer on a swing in mid-return, but it was the slowest recovery in our lifetimes.
Making the kind of improvements we have under Trump is another thing all together. There is no natural pendulum return. You have to make a good thing even better, like the difference between making a car go from 0 to 100 mph compared with making one go from 100 to 200 mph. It's orders of magnitude harder and runs against the natural regression toward the mean of economics. That's why so many have wrongly predicted a recession since Trump was elected. It will happen eventually, but we have gone way past the norm here. Imagine what would have been if we had Trump policy coming right out of the recession.
