“Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Conservative Party appeared to be on course for a solid majority in the British Parliament...”

“... according to an exit poll. A victory in the general election on Thursday would cement Mr. Johnson’s claim to 10 Downing Street, paving the way for Britain’s exit from the European Union in less than two months. For the prime minister, whose brief tenure has been marked by legal reversals, scorched-earth politics and unrelenting chaos, it was an extraordinary vindication. Defying predictions that he would be tossed out of his job, Mr. Johnson now seems likely to lead Britain through its most momentous transition since World War II.”

The NYT reports.

Definitely a sign of hope. We couldn't do it without the Left's complete dropping of the mask and out and proud demonstration of their totalitarian motives and goals.

We can be thankful that no matter how much it makes them lose, the Left is beyond the capability of even trying to put the masks back on. I think that era is over for good. The question remaining is, will a majority ever be *complicit* in those goals?

Eh, except that wasn't one transition, it was three. Going from nothing to the EEC, going from the EEC to the Maastricht Treaty-defined EU, and going from the Maastricht(-and-Nice) EU to the EU Constitution ("Treaty of Lisbon", in the parlance of the lies told to enact it after the people of Europe rejected it) were each smaller transitions than Brexit. Attended Bloody Sunday commemoration with bomber Brendan McKenna. Attended meeting w/Provisional IRA member Raymond McCartney. Hosted IRA linked Mitchell McLaughlin in parliament. Spoke alongside IRA terrorist Martina Anderson. Attended Sinn Fein dinner w/IRA bomber Gerry Kelly.

Chaired Irish republican event with IRA bomber Brendan MacFarlane. Attended Bobby Sands commemoration honouring IRA terrorists. Stood in minute’s silence for IRA gunmen shot dead by the SAS. Refused to condemn the IRA in Sky News interview. Refused to condemn the IRA on Question Time . . .

Attended Irish republican event calling for armed conflict against Britain. Hired suspected IRA man Ronan Bennett as a parliamentary assistant. Hired another aide closely linked to several convicted IRA terrorists. Heavily involved with IRA sympathising newspaper London Labour Briefing . . .

Attended wreath-laying at grave of Munich massacre terrorist. Attended conference with Hamas and PFLP. Photographed smiling with Hezbollah flag. Attended rally with Hezbollah and Al-Muhajiroun. Repeatedly shared platforms with PFLP plane hijacker. Hired aide who praised Hamas’ “spirit of resistance“.

Accepted £20,000 for state TV channel of terror-sponsoring Iranian regime. Opposed banning Britons from travelling to Syria to fight for ISIS. Defended rights of fighters returning from Syria. Said ISIS supporters should not be prosecuted. Compared fighters returning from Syria to Nelson Mandela. Said the death of Osama Bin Laden was a “tragedy“. Wouldn’t sanction drone strike to kill ISIS leader . . .

I read in the last 24 hours a news report that said the election was too close to call, and another that said Boris Johnson might lose his own seat in Parliament. Why don't reporters who write articles that are shown to be so obviously wrong ever face any consequences? I suspect, with a little research I could soon put together examples of other news reports that talked about how impeachment was swinging toward the Democrats, and Republicans were divided, etc. The general problem is that reporters write articles about what they hope will be true, because they believe (with some evidence) that some significant number of people who read stories that say "everyone agrees with impeachment" will decide that they are for impeachment, and the article will become self fulfilling.

Nigel Farage has said he will spend weeks next year as a warm-up speaker for Donald Trump’s campaign rallies, as he stared down the barrel of yet another wipeout of his party at a general election.

The Brexit Party's wipeout was preordained after Farage made a deal with Boris not to stand candidates in any Tory-held seats. No single politician in Britain deserves more credit for Brexit than Nigel Farage.

Labour lost because they betrayed their working class voters. They wanted Brexit or at the very least for Labour to respect Democracy and support Breixt LIKE THEY PROMISED IN 2017.

Instead, Corbyn lied and deceived. He everything he could to sabotage Brexit, while claiming he was just neutral. He finally ended up with a Platform that promised another referendum, but that referendum on Brexit would just be between staying in the EU, and staying in the EU with a few changes. AND Corbyn was going to let 16 y/o vote AND EU citizens! So, even the dumbest Englishman knew Labour's leader was a globalist, open borders fraud.

Trump's already appointed 25% of the federal judges on the appellate courts and 2 on SCOTUS. The 9th Circuit is now 50-50. If he wins a second term, these numbers go up. RBG is 86 and Breyer is 81.

He joined a chorus of glum Remain celebrities (right) who voiced their misery as the prospect of second Brexit referendum went up in smoke. Scores of triumphant Brexiteers immediately seized on the exit poll to gloat at Grant, who has been scathing of Eurosceptics during the campaign.

exiledonmainstreet, green-eyed devil বলেছেন...

The great Douglas Murray on Corbyn (read up, Cookie):

https://spectator.us/labour-anti-semitism-shame-never-forgiven/

one other voice rings in my ears as I write this. The voice of an Israeli Jewish friend. Having not been back to the UK in some years I hear now the question he asked me as we traveled in a taxi together in Jerusalem last year. ‘You know, I thought I knew Britain, Douglas’ he said to me. ‘Good and bad, I thought I knew it. But how do you explain Jeremy Corbyn?’ This was just after the ‘wreath row’ when Jeremy Corbyn was accused of laying a wreath at the grave of the men who killed the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972. ‘I mean — honoring the men who killed the athletes at Munich?’ my friend went on, shaking his head in quiet amazement. ‘And this man is accepted by the British public?’

Jeremy Corbyn will lose this election and every effort should be put into ensuring that he loses it big: that what happens on Thursday is not just a defeat, but a defeat of such crushing totality for the Labour party that it takes it years to recover.... Other left-wing parties may emerge and flourish. But the Labour party must never be forgiven for what it has offered to the public at this election. What Corbyn has brought into the mainstream has toxified Britain and the party that allowed it to happen should be held to account.

I pray the American people display the same common sense next November.

I saw someone on Twitter say the thing to learn here is that people don't like election results overturned, and warned Democrats to keep that in mind.

I have a lot of British friends who had convinced themselves that UK really did not mean to vote for Brexit. That idea is gone now.

daskol বলেছেন...

Nobody I know in London is the least bit surprised nor was there much suspense about this outcome, although it appears that the Tory majority may be even bigger than anticipated. Boris Johnson is a very impressive guy and maybe when he’s done being PM in blighty he can come over here and run for president since he was born in NY and is a natural born US citizen or was anyway as a child.

Not only did Nigel Farage campaign more effectively than anybody else for the Leave referendum, he facilitated the Tory majority which was all but assured when he had his Brexit Party and evening some UKIP allies stand down when he endorsed Johnson. There’s some spirit left in the Brits, and even the lifelong Labor folks I speak with are not as gripped by derangement and hatred as our countrymen are in defeat. They will get on with it, as the vast majority want to do, which means bye bye EU.

Earlier today Steve Sailer wrote a post, "Is Jeremy Corbyn Anti-Semitic?":

"Whenever I hear accusations that Jeremy Corbyn is anti-Semitic, I ask myself: Isn’t Jeremy Corbyn Jewish?

Eventually, it occurs to me that I am confusing Jeremy Corbyn, who isn’t Jewish, with Bernie Sanders, who is.

I’m pretty clueless about Britain, but I did look into this controversy last year and it looked like somewhere between a nothingburger and the inevitable outcome of having a lot of Muslim immigration.

P.S., here’s the exit poll from the 2017 UK election. The Tories then did very well among the old and among Jews, and very badly among the young and Muslims. If you are going to invite in huge numbers of Muslims, they will eventually have candidates representing their views.

It’s not wholly impossible that American Jews will learn some lessons about immigration policy from British Jews.

But it is unlikely."
