Take his rattle cans of paint, and shove them into his ass, and empty the cans. It's called destruction of property.

While watching his technique is a pleasure, the finished product was oddly ugly. Boo.

BUMBLE BEE বলেছেন...

Yeah, but how good is he at railcars?

Paco Wové বলেছেন...

Impressed by the lack of drips.

"It's called destruction of property."

Only if you assume he wasn't authorized to paint that mural.

I don't like destruction either, but why are you assuming destruction? Decoration is constructive too.

"I don't like destruction either, but why are you assuming destruction?"

Because you called him a "graffiti artist" and that tells me he is a vandal marking up property without permission. Why would you use the word "graffiti" if you meant something else.

The fashion changes were the best part. I like shirt #2.

I just wish the video didn't automatically run when your blog is accessed.

The arsonist’s accelerant control. Artful!

Admired the mastery of technique.

I can't even manage a neat uniform finish on a small piece of metal with a can of spray paint.

That's what "graffiti" means or implies. Otherwise it's a mural.

It says graffiti artist.

graffiti: writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place.

The most decorative is perhaps in Valparaiso.
The most authentically political is perhaps in Bogotá.
The Latins are good at it.

During my freshman year at college, we had one of those "speed painters" (for lack of a better term) come to campus. It was very impressive. It looked like he was throwing random gobs of paint all over the canvas, then when he flipped it upside down, it was a very cool portrait of Jimi Hendrix.

I was expecting that the finished work would be “Epstein didn’t kill himself”.

Maybe it's in code.

Mr groovington,

There's an awful lot of Germans italians and croats in Chile. Not to mention all the mestizos.

Are they "Latin"?

Are they "hispanic

Your statement is the equivalent of pointing to Sammy Davis and Saying "those colored folk sure can dance"

I find both statements offensive.

I haven't seen such great can control since Nina Hartley's "Guide to Anal Sex" video.

Even if this is an authorized mural, the aesthetic is a legitimized form of barbaric assault on our urban environment. A few days ago I read an Anthony Daniels piece about how when he was young, newsstands in London would leave a tray out for people to drop coins in to pay for papers. He said no one then would imagine someone might steal the money, but oday no one can imagine that someone would not. Similarly no one can today imagine a city where monumental architecture, bridges, and store facades would not be befouled and with no evidence of overpainting or telltale signs of high-pressure cleaning.

You people are sure uptight.

Maillard Reactionary বলেছেন...

If he does not own that wall, the video is just a commercial advertisement for a street vandal.

If he does own the wall (or have permission to paint on it), it is just a warning about a no-talent wannabe "artist".

Maillard Reactionary বলেছেন...

Hey Howard, let me know if you get uptight when he does your car.

Or bicycle, as the case may be.

Phidippus, if I understand Garbage Howie, his little secret is that in fact he is a dirty spiggoty, but mixed amd he got the genes that make him look like Otto Skorzeny. So he probably knows the secrets of not getting hassled by Mexican, and maybe Salvadorean, etc., gangbangers and their artistic commissions. I gueas he just avoids blacks...

Nichevo nails it again. He must have the ability to hack into my Alexa. That's some impressive Deep State Big Brother skilz. Props. Us mud people are a tricky lot, you people are lucky to have him on your team.

I don’t normally care for graffiti, but last month I visited Batman Alley in São Paolo, and surprisingly enjoyed the art. From what I understand, it changes a lot as artists paint over existing work. There’s a code of conduct, though, in that they don’t paint over someone else’s work without permission of the artist.

নামহীন বলেছেন...

Idiots. Self absorbed. No self-control. Maybe deranged.

The best murals I have ever seen were on the inside walls of buildings in a prison. Yes, really! Artistic talent and self-destructive behavior often go hand-in-hand in my experience. The wardens let the inmate-artists occupy their time for a while.

In Houston there is a railroad bridge that crosses over a four-lane section of I-45 where the traffic arrives downtown, 250 thousand cars per day. The supporting structure of the bridge is made of iron panels about 4 feet wide and 5 feet tall. There is a little horizontal piece at the bottom about 4 inches wide to give the panels strength like I-beams have flanges. Right above the panels are the tracks. And, of course, the bridge is private property. I know how to get out there. I did it on a similar bridge in my hometown when I was about 14 years old. It is possible, but stupid.

Some vandal has created a landmark on the bridge. The vandal has paint the letters "B E S O M E O N E" in the panels, and repainted it every time the railroad company covers it up. The Houston Chronicle encourages the vandal to keep it up by making the status of this criminal behavior front-page news as the message comes and goes. I have also seen a photo of this graffiti as one month's photo of a Houston-themed calendar. I guess many people get a warm glow when the see it.

Remember this "artwork" is on private property, about 20 feet above a four-lane interstate just below train tracks, and virtually impossible to reach. The "artist" is a local hero. Graffiti crime on someone else's property is popular. Maybe it appeals to man's sinful nature.

I assume I will someday read either a glowing interview of this perservering encourager of middle-class commuters, or a glowing obituary. Unless the Houston Chronicle deems the story of the crook to be valuable enough that the story is behind their paywall.

Aw shucks, Nacho Howie, no credit required, you gave the game away, unless of course you were lying, this would be my shocked face.

Did I hurt you with the Otto thing? Do you take after Dolph Lundgren instead?

I will say that your posts are funnier read in that Chicano whine a la Speedy Gonzales.
