HARRIS: The reality is that our plan will bring health care to all Americans under a Medicare for All system.
GABBARD: The reality is right now, we don’t have a healthcare system. We have a sick care system….
HARRIS: The reality is that — what — under my Medicare for All plan, yes, employers are not going to be able to dictate the kind of healthcare that their employees get....
DE BLASIO: Ask people about the reality of premiums, deductibles, co-pays, out-of-pocket expenses....
DE BLASIO: Why are we even discussing on one level whether it's a civil penalty or a criminal penalty, when it's an American reality?...
HARRIS: And the reality is that I would take any Democrat on this stage over the current president of the United States….
BOOKER: Science didn't become a reality yesterday....
HARRIS: And the reality of it is that we have a person in the White House right now who has been shielded by a memo in the United States Department of Justice…
BENNET: We need to recognize a very practical reality... we've got the August recess, then we are four months away from the Iowa Caucuses....
YANG: Instead of talking about automation and our future, including the fact that we automated away 4 million manufacturing jobs, hundreds of thousands right here in Michigan, we're up here with makeup on our faces and our rehearsed attack lines, playing roles in this reality TV show. It's one reason why we elected a reality TV star as our president.Clearly, Yang takes the cake. If quality is what counts. And I think it does. He was examining and challenging the very concept of reality in politics. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
But if you want to talk quantity, Kamala Harris has a rhetorical tic — "the reality is." It's her "Let me make one thing perfectly clear," her "let me say this about that."

The reality is this field of candidates is so awful Hillary! will be forced to save the Democrats from themselves.
Reality is a right wing talking point.
" 'Reality'-- what a concept!" --L. Tomlin
The reality is, Donald Trump will win re-election.
He’s mean. Maybe not.
Caught in a landslide no escape from reality.
Actually - a former TV reality show, where Trump gave millions to charity, is FAR more desirable that the freak show that is hte modern democrat party.
The reality is, Althouse prefers language over reality.
(Copy and pasting what I said in another thread (under my oopsy daisy mistake account)
I don't think that the Democrats and the MSM (one and the same) understand how stupid and robotic they sound when they ALL have the very same talking points.
It is obvious that no one is thinking for themselves and like good little robots they get their marching orders--talking points--and repeat repeat repeat.
They sound stupid and unthinking
This constant repeating of the same phrases, same words, just reinforces how unoriginal and scripted they are. Like puppets.
Who is really in charge??? Hmmmmmm????
But I thought Obama fixed healthcare for us 11 years ago. Do you mean that that was a lie?
Ah - the "reality-based community". They like to talk about reality.
Reality - if you can fake that, you've got it made.
The reality is found in christ
The reality is often disappointing
The reality is none of us are easy to be with
...top Googles. The last couple are apropos.
Medicare for All sounds incredibly scary.
My favorite aspect of the democratic party is how they write crap laws and legislation forcing us into failure, and then the failed plans and programs all go down the memory hole. The left walk away from their own bad ideas mostly unscathed, while they promise the next miracle shit-pill.
The reality is that these clowns can propose almost anything that most people would find horrible ...
... and still get at least 45% of the popular vote for POTUS.
Reality is - my sisters who are all libs can't stand any of these candidates. And the candidates have now turned on Obama(?). if Michelle O wants to be president (as opposed to living as a billionaire) I think the nomination is hers for the taking. Can she beat Trump? probably not. But my guess that Valerie misses having the west wing as her personal litter box and will try and talk her into running.
The reality is that the Democrats believe in "No borders, no walls, no USA at all."
What fucking American would vote for THAT?
Yang: This is going to be a tough truth, but we are too late. We are 10 years too late. We need to do everything we can to start moving the climate in the right direction, but we also need to start moving our people to higher ground.
"What fucking American would vote for THAT?"
At last count, every Democrat US Senator, Mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins, and about 10 other Senate Republican.
Yang at least admitted manufacturing jobs gone to tech are gone forever. That's a tough reality.
"For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow."

Reality is the ultimate Red Pill. As John Adams said "Facts are stubborn things."
The reality is every one of those candidates haven't a clue what the reality is, and in many cases have actively worked to bring it about.
The fact of the matter is... [insert opinion]
The truth is... [insert lie]
You missed the first reality:
HARRIS: But the reality is that I have been spending time in this campaign listening to American families ...
Yang DOES take the cake
We (thanx to Orangeman) are currently suffering from RECORD Unemployment
We have NEVER been at a point where so many people that want to work, Can't; because of Automation. Just look at the numbers!
Over %135 of americans are having to work three (or MORE) jobs, because there are no jobs
the stock market averages are MORE than %400 lower than they were when O'Bama was President
People (Average People!) are being crippled by capital gains taxes
It's a creamy, Dreamy Cake; and Yang takes it!

If you're a major party candidate, you get 45% just for showing up. The election is actually decided by about 1% or 2% of true swing voters.
The reality is, the debate was a rigged reality show, that had noting to do with reality. Really.
Would you rather have a Caroline Kennedy: "ya know, ya know, like uh, ya know".
How about: "I think that...... "I also think that..... "I think" "I think" "I think".

One of my favorite lines is from Fight Club where Ed Norton's character finally realized the reality of the situation saying, "We have just lost cabin pressure..."
Neither Trump nor Obama nor the current murder of Democrows competing on that stage are depressurization. That's still down the road.
Depressurization is terrifying. You can't breath. But you'll be conscious for a few seconds till you pass out coming to terms with the reality of what has just occurred and what's in store.
At least it will get them to stop talking.
Yang states 4 Billion manufacturing jobs are gone. That's reality. On Mars.
Hey, Harris is a first tier candidate, you guys.
is that the actual Potemkin Village, or a cheap knock-off?
“The reality is...
You sucked Willie Brown’s Willy to get ahead in politics, garner yourself a couple of sweet appointments to “public” boards paying you more than 100k a year.
You want to take away my healthcare and health insurance and force me into a government program.
You want me to pay “reparations” to some people even though neither I nor any of my ancestors ever owned a slave in America and neither you nor any of your ancestors ever were a slave in America.
No sale.
What bugged me was Biden's rhetorical tic of constantly saying "The fact is" and "The fact of the matter is." He must have used it a hundred times (maybe 30330 times)
But who is the Reality Winner?
The sea change in this world since Trump began his work is an awareness that the Fake News Narrative we were fed fo 30 years is not reality. Trump’s tweets are now the reality.
According to Glen Beck, the reality is that none of these candidates will come close to clinching the nomination. When that reality becomes clear, Micelle Obama will swoop in to scoop up the nomination.
Not impossible.
Medicare for All sounds incredibly scary.
The French system, which I favor as a means of reform, is being overloaded with British retirees who move to France and sign up for the health care system, never having paid a penny in to it. They used a provision for the poor, called "CMG," but the new program is "PUMA (Protection Universelle Maladie)." and is no longer free.
After 3 months of legal residency in France, you may apply for a Carte Vitale (the French NHS card). It's not free, as you have not paid into French securite sociale, but the contributions run about 8% of your household income above 9600 euros. Depending on your and your wife's ages and medical conditions,
It used to be free and the French system was overloaded with Brits who refused to go back to the NHS.
I'm glad to see this reform.
Medicare for All would add 300 million people who had NOT contributed at all.

"Republican Talking Points"
"It hurts to kick against the goads" --Acts 26:14 (pt 2)
Democrat talking points. Just watch the daily news...and you will see them repeated over and over and over and over and over again and again!!!
In my days as a speechwriter, I had a state senator who liked to say "The truth is..." I discouraged it for reasons his staff did not fully appreciate.
The only reality is that Democrats and reality don't share the same space. The only real question is can the Republicans blow an election the Democrats are hellbent on losing?
Now if only Democrats understood what reality actually is.

Or even worse, Michelle Obama (choke, spit).
The reality is, we have to lie to get your vote. Here's one we think will do it. If not we have others.
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Thanks Freddie.
GABBARD: The reality is right now, we don’t have a healthcare system. We have a sick care system…."
The level of arrogance and stupidity on display here is awe inspiring. Gee who goes for medical care? Sick people, who else? If her cuteness is advocating wellness prevention what is she going to propose? Food rationing so no one gets fat? Mandatory walking or bicycle riding as the only acceptable daily mode of transportation to keep people in good cardio shape? Banning alcohol, tobacco and all recreational drugs?
In the 15-year archive of this blog, I've never written the phrase "the reality is" — other than for this post title (and new tag). I've quoted others using it. It's an interesting tag line, now that I've noticed it.
Dems insisting on reality. Irony at its finest.
The reality is right now, we don’t have a healthcare system. We have a sick care system…."
Is Gabbard aware that Medicare does not cover “well patient” office visits or blood screenings?
And here I thought "perception is reality."
"reality is"... what we hate, what we rebel against,
what we try to deconstruct, and try to build an alternative to.
It is our nemesis. Our oppressor.
Our counterfeit is more attractive
Free yourself from the harshness of Reality-- vote Dem in 2020
Nobody likes reality but engineers.
Even scientists prefer fantasy worlds, so much so that they keep probing reality in hope of evidence to prove their fantasy correct.
Properly speaking it is not a healthcare system.
This is not about preserving or restoring health at all.
It is about as much a lie in naming the War Department the Defense Department.
Confucius would have, with his wisdom, seen this all as something to reform, with high priority.
" If names be not correct, language is not in accordance with the truth of things. If language be not in accordance with the truth of things, affairs cannot be carried on to success. When affairs cannot be carried on to success, proprieties and music do not flourish. When proprieties and music do not flourish, punishments will not be properly awarded. When punishments are not properly awarded, the people do not know how to move hand or foot. Therefore a superior man considers it necessary that the names he uses may be spoken appropriately, and also that what he speaks may be carried out appropriately. What the superior man requires is just that in his words there may be nothing incorrect."

"The reality is, we're complete ignoramuses when it comes to economics!"
As Elizabeth Warren says, "So here's the thing..." The nominee will likely be either Biden, Sanders, Warren, or Harris. Out of that field I'd pick Warren. Whoa!
Looking to Democrats for any sort of reality is like asking a homeless man for change.
Correction: Warren says, "here's the deal."
“Make no mistake...” — Bush and Obama
“Make no mistake...” — Bush and Obama
I was going to bring that overused phrase up. Everyone in Washington began saying it after 9/11. The only common usages more annoying to me are "very unique" and "gifted" instead of gave or given (when did that one start and why?).

what about "In reality"? or "Actually"
Gabbard liked that line from Williamson so much she appropriated it.
Properly speaking it is not a healthcare system.
This is not about preserving or restoring health at all.
More evidence that politicians know nothing about health care/medical care. We knew the war was lost when we all became "Providers."
Nixon signed off on "Health Maintenance Organizations" I didn't know him when he lived in San Clemente but a friend did and he told him, "You know you're going to get screwed." He knew.
My experience with sociopaths is they repeatedly note how they're being honest or how much they love something because being unable to actually experience the emotion and resort to narrating it how it has been described to them.
So, if you repeatedly emphasize how grounded in reality you are...
Here’s a helpful hint. My Medicare co pay/premiums are about $500 a month. Let’s have everybody in the U.S. front $500 a month. That should cover it. And yes, I mean everybody. When that bum who lives under a bridge shows up ask to see his payment record.
The reality is Donald Trump is President.
Now tell me how many of them are good at dealing with reality.
