And the reality is...

From the transcript of last night's debate, in chronological order:
HARRIS: The reality is that our plan will bring health care to all Americans under a Medicare for All system.

GABBARD: The reality is right now, we don’t have a healthcare system. We have a sick care system….

HARRIS: The reality is that — what — under my Medicare for All plan, yes, employers are not going to be able to dictate the kind of healthcare that their employees get....

DE BLASIO: Ask people about the reality of premiums, deductibles, co-pays, out-of-pocket expenses....

DE BLASIO: Why are we even discussing on one level whether it's a civil penalty or a criminal penalty, when it's an American reality?...

HARRIS: And the reality is that I would take any Democrat on this stage over the current president of the United States….

BOOKER: Science didn't become a reality yesterday....

HARRIS: And the reality of it is that we have a person in the White House right now who has been shielded by a memo in the United States Department of Justice…

BENNET: We need to recognize a very practical reality... we've got the August recess, then we are four months away from the Iowa Caucuses....
YANG: Instead of talking about automation and our future, including the fact that we automated away 4 million manufacturing jobs, hundreds of thousands right here in Michigan, we're up here with makeup on our faces and our rehearsed attack lines, playing roles in this reality TV show. It's one reason why we elected a reality TV star as our president.
Clearly, Yang takes the cake. If quality is what counts. And I think it does. He was examining and challenging the very concept of reality in politics. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?

But if you want to talk quantity, Kamala Harris has a rhetorical tic — "the reality is." It's her "Let me make one thing perfectly clear," her "let me say this about that."

Actually - a former TV reality show, where Trump gave millions to charity, is FAR more desirable that the freak show that is hte modern democrat party.

(Copy and pasting what I said in another thread (under my oopsy daisy mistake account)

I don't think that the Democrats and the MSM (one and the same) understand how stupid and robotic they sound when they ALL have the very same talking points.

It is obvious that no one is thinking for themselves and like good little robots they get their marching orders--talking points--and repeat repeat repeat.

They sound stupid and unthinking

This constant repeating of the same phrases, same words, just reinforces how unoriginal and scripted they are. Like puppets.

Who is really in charge??? Hmmmmmm????

Medicare for All sounds incredibly scary.

My favorite aspect of the democratic party is how they write crap laws and legislation forcing us into failure, and then the failed plans and programs all go down the memory hole. The left walk away from their own bad ideas mostly unscathed, while they promise the next miracle shit-pill.

Reality is - my sisters who are all libs can't stand any of these candidates. And the candidates have now turned on Obama(?). if Michelle O wants to be president (as opposed to living as a billionaire) I think the nomination is hers for the taking. Can she beat Trump? probably not. But my guess that Valerie misses having the west wing as her personal litter box and will try and talk her into running.

We have NEVER been at a point where so many people that want to work, Can't; because of Automation. Just look at the numbers!
Over %135 of americans are having to work three (or MORE) jobs, because there are no jobs
the stock market averages are MORE than %400 lower than they were when O'Bama was President
People (Average People!) are being crippled by capital gains taxes

It's a creamy, Dreamy Cake; and Yang takes it!

If you're a major party candidate, you get 45% just for showing up. The election is actually decided by about 1% or 2% of true swing voters.

One of my favorite lines is from Fight Club where Ed Norton's character finally realized the reality of the situation saying, "We have just lost cabin pressure..."

Neither Trump nor Obama nor the current murder of Democrows competing on that stage are depressurization. That's still down the road.

Depressurization is terrifying. You can't breath. But you'll be conscious for a few seconds till you pass out coming to terms with the reality of what has just occurred and what's in store.

At least it will get them to stop talking.

Medicare for All sounds incredibly scary.

The French system, which I favor as a means of reform, is being overloaded with British retirees who move to France and sign up for the health care system, never having paid a penny in to it. They used a provision for the poor, called "CMG," but the new program is "PUMA (Protection Universelle Maladie)." and is no longer free.

After 3 months of legal residency in France, you may apply for a Carte Vitale (the French NHS card). It's not free, as you have not paid into French securite sociale, but the contributions run about 8% of your household income above 9600 euros. Depending on your and your wife's ages and medical conditions,

It used to be free and the French system was overloaded with Brits who refused to go back to the NHS.

I'm glad to see this reform.

Medicare for All would add 300 million people who had NOT contributed at all.

GABBARD: The reality is right now, we don’t have a healthcare system. We have a sick care system…."

The level of arrogance and stupidity on display here is awe inspiring. Gee who goes for medical care? Sick people, who else? If her cuteness is advocating wellness prevention what is she going to propose? Food rationing so no one gets fat? Mandatory walking or bicycle riding as the only acceptable daily mode of transportation to keep people in good cardio shape? Banning alcohol, tobacco and all recreational drugs?

Nobody likes reality but engineers.
Even scientists prefer fantasy worlds, so much so that they keep probing reality in hope of evidence to prove their fantasy correct.

buwaya said...

Properly speaking it is not a healthcare system.
This is not about preserving or restoring health at all.
It is about as much a lie in naming the War Department the Defense Department.

Confucius would have, with his wisdom, seen this all as something to reform, with high priority.

" If names be not correct, language is not in accordance with the truth of things. If language be not in accordance with the truth of things, affairs cannot be carried on to success. When affairs cannot be carried on to success, proprieties and music do not flourish. When proprieties and music do not flourish, punishments will not be properly awarded. When punishments are not properly awarded, the people do not know how to move hand or foot. Therefore a superior man considers it necessary that the names he uses may be spoken appropriately, and also that what he speaks may be carried out appropriately. What the superior man requires is just that in his words there may be nothing incorrect."

More evidence that politicians know nothing about health care/medical care. We knew the war was lost when we all became "Providers."

Nixon signed off on "Health Maintenance Organizations" I didn't know him when he lived in San Clemente but a friend did and he told him, "You know you're going to get screwed." He knew.
