Thank you, Althouse, Happy Easter to you! Thanks for that Wiki link, I used the Germain Pilon sculpture for my FB page.

With half my family, I go to church, have the priest bless our token foods, march around the church while getting sprayed with holy water, then it's Christ, Christ, Christ all day.

The other half of my family, the kids hunt for colored eggs on the lawn, we have dinner and dessert and no mentions anything.

Those tricky Catholic-Jewish mixed families :)

I just watched "The Case for Christ", a drama film about the quest of Lee Stobel for the evidence supporting the Resurrection. Very well done piece and worth watching for anyone with an open mind but doubts about the veracity of the biblical account. It is available on Netflix.

And thanks to Althouse for this blog which affords the opportunity for expression on a wide range of subjects. I realize she does it because she enjoys it but that diminishes not the value to us, nor the entitlement to appreciation.

Your sins are forgiven.

Highly recommended: the 2016 film "Risen."

Cliff Curtis is extraordinary as Christ. Worth watching alone is the profoundly moving scene in which a shaken Roman soldier who had guarded the tomb describes, and tries to make sense of, what he saw.

In my mixed Episcopalian-Jewish family (me = Episcopalian, my husband = Jewish), we went to church on Good Friday and on Easter Sunday, had Easter dinner, even went to church on Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday).

And on Passover, first night, we had a full seder, led by my husband reading from the Haggadah, asking the questions, etc.

The upshot was that our son became a Catholic, perfectly satisfactory outcome.

...and so shall we.
