[I]t’s not like I didn’t know there were Oreo stouts. But I didn’t know there was going to be a packaged Oreo stout. It’s not the kind of thing to which Oreo’s parent company, Mondelez, would typically give its imprimatur. It’s the kind of beer a brewery would do as a taproom or event one-off, like The Bruery did with its Pure Oreo Black Tuesday variant back in 2014. You run it through a Randall infusion kit; you don’t run it by TTB for label approval.... Now, I’m no lawyer. I can’t say if it’s kosher with Mondelez that Prairie used the word “Oreo” on the label....
The first impression of Double Dunk was that the body of this beer was pastry stout legit, oily thick and rich. The second impression was that the 11.9% alcohol by volume was not shy.... And the third impression was that holy cow, this was actually a competently-made imperial stout that just happened to have a bunch of Oreos thrown into it....

Now if some home state hero in WI could figure out how to apply the popular flyover land magic re deep-frying everything, this stuff would be the perfect WI food. With enough of such, y'all won't even notice piss-poor football.
I dunno.
Never tries oreo but imperial stouts share those flavors, especially the barrel aged.
Here's my favorite for breakfast
Looks small. Mondelez will eventually catch up with them if need be.
BTW, what state has the most not-pregers gals who are mistaken fer being pregers cuase of beer bellies?
Where is the Cheese Curd Stout?
Lutefisk Lager?
Lefse IPA?
Tater Tot Amber Ale?
Thanks. I'll stick to my Guinness.
From that article I learned that pastry beer is a thing now. Basically, they're beers, often stouts, that are made to taste something like a baked good. Craft or "Artisinal" brewing is fast becoming as eloborate and multifarious as any hobby.
Hipsters ruin everything.

BINGO!
Because nobody- and I mean nobody- drinks as well as people from Wisconsin.
I prefer an artisanal mead, preferably from free range bees.
First Planters, now this. Though the Planters beer (Peanut IPA) was done under license.
Just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should be done.
Reinheitsgebot uber alles is the proper beer philosophy for sensible persons.
There may be those who disagree, but they are misguided. Sad!
Phidippus, I do agree with you. Some the things that are being put into "Craft Beers" are just disgusting.
For the non-alcoholic version, they used Hydrox cookies.
All of this cookie, pastry beer sounds just awful. Hurk!!!
Sorry. Cookies are not on my low carb diet.
I guess this is the downside to the craft beer movement that creates novelty beers that go beyond the standard brands.
I take this over the old days, when all you could get was Bud, Rolling Rock, PBR, Old Milwaukee and that case of Coors your brother brought back from Denver.
I'll stick to my Guinness.
I was a Guinness fan for a long time and generally don't like any microbrews, but had two Polygamy Porters ("Why have just one!") @Thanksgiving and they were pretty good!
The Veil Brewery here in Richmond has been doing that to its stouts for a couple of years. Things get very imaginative in the RVA. Oreos; peanut butter, They've even made Chick-fil-A beer.

Sounds like drinking Thanksgiving dinner.
I was a fan of Schlitz back in the late 70's, the original recipe.
Have a few after a hard day at the Steiger Tractor factory, chiseling slag off of welds with an air chisel.
Good times. $7.50 an hour. The equivalent of about $25 an hour today.
Does

still work? I get a nonfunctional page of buttons to click that don't seem to function.
I don't have a twitter account but that always worked to see tweets.
nevermind, a third try worked as usual. They must have decided to unremove the account.
Ho boy, cleanup on Pennsylvania Avenue..Mueller may have something now.
Ann posts this inane item and checks out for the day. Hey Ann, how hilarious is it that the US president is something ranging from the dupe, to the stooge, to the co-opted agent of Vladimir Putin and the Russian intelligence services? Ain't that a gas?
Hey Ann, how hilarious is it that John Pickering is a conspiracy theory Libtard and a mental midget...er...little person too...?
… the US president is something ranging from the dupe, to the stooge, to the co-opted agent of Vladimir Putin and the Russian intelligence services?
Amazing how many years mileage the Democrats are getting out of this allegation — without ever having to come up with one iota of proof.
It's rather like the Kavanaugh hearing (which is a microcosm) in this regard. I can just hear Althouse suggesting that Trump should just admit that all that alleged duplicity, cooptation, and stoogedness (that at this point one might safely conclude never even happened — except on the part of the Democrats in setting up the frameup) might nonetheless have happened when Trump was in a drunken blackout (despite his never having drank). It's no crazier than everything else that's been going on….
Wow. Candy beer. Think of the children, huh?
