Starbucks Not. Dropped them. Used to buy exclusively Starbucks for our homebrew morning coffee, and buy a Veinte whenever we went into town. Their social virtue strutting put a cap to it.
So I guess, from previous remarks on the occasion, there is not a turkey with all the trimmins' in the works at the Meadehouse this year? Whatever, hope it is better than the millennial at Starbucks is doing.
I love his style. Andy Kaufmann David Byrneish which has probably been said in the comments to his other videos. He's right about the Starbucks food. Lately when I leave early to drive a few hours to work (Social Security Disability ODARs are pretty spread out), I'll app order Egg Bites and a Morning Muffin with my usual Americano from SB after I have driven an hour or so. Filling and relatively balanced. I love being about to walk into the SB and pick my food up without having to wait. I order in advance most of the time now. The food is much improved from way back in 2015.
Thanksgiving does not always require a turkey and the trimmings.
This year it is just my husband and me. We are having a big family get together next weekend in another area, so not to be sad that we are all alone. Actually, we kind of prefer it that way. Peace and quiet.
To make a 10 or 12 pound turkey for two people would be ridiculous. Plus....so much left over turkey and neither of us like turkey or the breast meat that much, unless it is a brined and deep fried turkey. Then the breast meat stays moist and has some flavor.
So....we are having Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner. Corned beef pre-boiled. Finished off by baking in the oven with brown sugar, mustard and crumb topped crispiness. Maybe we will have Turkey for St. Patrick's Day :-)
Pumpkin pie with whipped cream.... of course. It also doesn't have to be Thanksgiving to have pumpkin pie....mmmmmmmmmm pie!
This guy isn't that great. I can do the same persona off the cuff for laughs by the kids but you run out of phrases and start repeating "as it were" etc. I'm much better IMO... Another thing I see that makes me hate being born 10yrs too early. Could've monetized my whole life. Don't get me started on road trips etc. Kearouc couldn't hold a candle to my life... But where was my Go Pro and blog in 95!!
Friend of mine has been with Starbucks for many years. Here's her take. PSA---I am working tomorrow. My choice. Too many customers were angry at me today that our store is Open on Thanksgiving because 'everyone should be with their family'. I respectfully disagree........ Too many people are displaced on these Traditional American Holidays. I am so glad I am part of a business culture who provides a welcoming environment everyday.
Why I Choose to Work on a 'Holiday' ----Many people, Families, are traveling tomorrow--we are a comfortable place for them to begin their journey. ----the kids I work with on a holiday really need the Time & Half pay and extra tips because most customers will tip on a holiday ----my coworkers who really want the day off are able to be with their families...... and I know they will step in for me when I need a specific time ----I genuinely Love hearing the stories of where people are headed and what their plans are for the day.... ---many I serve are here because of work or school.... family and friends are many states away. So glad I can make the PNW &'12' connections with many of them.
"This guy isn't that great. I can do the same persona off the cuff for laughs...."
But there are so many elements to his routine. Do you have a blue goblet? Do you have insane candles? Can you slick back your hair like that? Are you fingernails grown past the ends of your fingertips? Do you bric-a-brac in a breakfront????
We eat Chinese and watch "A Christmas Story", about a family that eats Chinese.
The food, not the people. *********************************** LOL I grew up in a vegetarian family. Parents stopped eating meat around 1975. For thanksgiving, we would go to the local Chinese restaurant - the only place you could get tofu at the time. When we walked into the place, huge tables of Chinese would fall silent, looking at us. Then back to conversation that probably included: Don't those white people know it's thanksgiving?
FYI given a choice I'd prefer crab cakes for thanksgiving. I think there was seafood at the first gig, wasn't there? Although after watching "Deadliest Catch" I wonder if that is just too much trouble for food.
When my dad had a pizza restaurant, Christmas Eve was, by far, his busiest night of the year. Employees would argue over who would get to work that day because he paid double wages.
I like to have tiny versions of holiday meals apart from the big, extended family meals. At the tiny meal, you have everything you want made exactly how you want it. Then, at the big meal, you can roll with whatever people have made (or bought.)
maybe a quickie from me about Reflective. the polar opposite of projection. this is so vital to me. my partner of 15 years is incorporating reflective practice into every area of the clinic, so what is it? for starters here, but psych is going to be an area of emphasis here, how to deconstruct, lots and lots, best, and aqui
Of course they're open. It's only right given their new positioning as rent free, non-judgemental public meeting space. Forget their sandwich. BYO meal. Make yourself at home.
I went there the other day for the first time in years. Gave my name "Bob" to make it as easy as possible for them, and they still got my name wrong. The staffer at the end even argued with me about it ("no, that's ROB'S") until she double-checked the contents of the cup.

it's all out there for the taking.
So now one can get a fake turkey flavored sandwich to go with the fake coffee flavored beverage?
I go to Starbucks about once every 3 years and am not due for another visit for a while.
But I'll try to keep this in mind.
"Starbucks: The Facebook of food"
In any event, no Thanksgiving where I am this year. Working in Costa Rica for 2 weeks.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone else.
Their cranberry bars are good.
Oh, Meade, you poor, poor bastard. First turkey bars and now Starbucks. Can't somebody there in Madison feed you a proper Thanksgiving meal?
First turkey bars and now Starbucks.
Next it'll be gay bars and monkey bars.
Too bad Althouse couldn't find a Shiseido video for the occasion.
IMHO.

quickie on embedding your hyperlinks
before the url, type a href=" put URL here " and close with a quote. a "<" before the a href, and a ">" after the hyperlink.
close the embed with an /a. That's it. remember the carats there, too.

Didn't he just wish us all a Happy Halloween, before taking his first bite?
We have True evidence that you can eat Thanksgiving dinner at Starbucks while you work with your business family.
Not bad at all.
Grammar Nazi alert ...
This year it is just my husband and me
And I !!???
The kid in the video reminds me of a young Peter Lorre.
And Peter Lorre's real name was Lazlo. That is almost Althousesque in finding connections in strange and unexpected places.
There is something very 1970's about the young man
I've only had Starbucks food a couple times and both times it's been almost inedible. I was really shocked
Ann: He did a video recently that was a 'fashion show' of his suits and ties. Worth checking out if you have not already.
Starbucks >> SB >> snobby bitchiest
He did say Happy Halloween.

Nope. When in doubt in the sentence, remove the other person(s) and see how it sounds.
Without husband: This year it is just I. or This year it is just me.
Alternate sentence: This year my husband and I went to a friend's house. Or..This year me and my husband went to a friend's house.
The "I" is correct in this case. Remove the husband.
This year I went to a friend's house. versus This year me went to a friend's house.
Hope this helps :-)

It's interesting to me how he can get people to waste their lives to watch a fucking commercial.
(I can appreciate his schtick, honestly. I left comments on YT to that effect. But, still, it's a fucking commercial.
Do not eat a turkey sandwich on National Spaghetti Carbonara day.
ReviewBrah making it the big time! One does not mess with ReviewBrah.
He would get a better meal at Golden Corral.
To all you haters our there: he chews with his mouth closed.
I am amazed how he does his part so straight.
Wild horses couldn't drag me into a Starbucks any other day of the year. But, yeah. Let's try it out on Thanksgiving.
Maybe Jack in the Box is open.

Ok, I've been able to create a hyperlink. How do I did lift it and paste it? Copy and paste does not seem to work.
hard content for now, rape culture on the table.
lots of fun whimsical content after a while.
here, by me
S M Gellar called ReviewBrah. Come pick up your drill and your shirt. Leave the sammie.
Use this link You can copy and paste these.

Make yourself at home.
'It is I', not 'it is me'.
Anyone can mix up some Stove Top for a bit of that Thanksgiving feeling.
He's right about the poor choice of Italian ciabatta. It's an American holiday...serve it on a potato roll. And no French wine to go with it.
