"It's The Freeze!"

Said Meade, watching this:

If you don't know who The Freeze is: "Big chill: The Freeze blazes path to stardom/Braves' in-game attraction is hit with MLB fans, players." Great video here:

Gives new meaning to the cop's standard line, "Freeze!"

Ralph L म्हणाले...

The cop isn't small either.

Ralph L म्हणाले...

Nor is he wearing shorts or lycra.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

And I'm thinking more generally about the glory of winning when the other guy has a headstart, how if you believe and commit hard, you can overcome the headstart.

You know who had a great headstart? Jeb Bush.

Also, Hillary in 2008.

The Drill SGT म्हणाले...

That cop was amazing. Particularly considering how much stuff (what is called in the Army: "Battle rattle") he must be wearing. 10 pounds?

So Freeze fans pay for admission and get to see a Braves game as a bonus- Cool!!! (pun intended)

Dave Begley म्हणाले...

And the guy the cop was chasing might have had a gun and turned around to use it. The cop knew that was possible when the footrace was on.

Relativity at work in the cop video. A bit deceptive.

Dave Begley म्हणाले...

"the mysterious hero is a 26-year-old track athlete and member of the Braves ground crew named Nigel Talton. He first donned the superhero getup this year when the Braves saw his speed in another between-innings race and decided to make him the star of a new one built around his speed.

That game became “Beat the Freeze,” and The Freeze became a star.
When the supersuit goes on, Nigel Talton turns into ... The Freeze. But the rest of the time, he’s living the normal side of his dual life as a school security guard and track student-athlete at Kennesaw State. While Talton is a busy guy, we’re lucky that he has time to be a hero — even if only between innings."

Talton needs to monetize this talent. But the Braves probably own the trademark "The Freeze." Hope he didn't sign a covenant not to compete or something similar.

This clip is from Mar 26, 2014. I had to find it on YouTube to watch it.

Knocking someone down is sensitive?

So it is. But 60 thousand people are talking about it this morning on Twitter. So it's news... or fake news... or something in between.

If they do Disney has an infringement case: Frozone!.

Too many Dunkin Donuts cops.

Temujin म्हणाले...

That's known as closing speed.

Leon Lett (Super Bowl XXVII). Football and claiming victory too early.

The Astros on field reporter tried to beat the freeze; she lost despite the head start.

This week, Julia tried to when the legends race in Oakland and came in second again.

Good news, Astros left Oakland still in the AL west lead.

Bay Area Guy म्हणाले...

Call me the Freeze....

Paul Zrimsek म्हणाले...

Damn. What was IN those donuts?

An awesome photoeditor would remake the videos with Jeb Bush or Trump in it, or Hillary and Obama.

Easily 10 pounds or more when you count the vest, sidearm(s), cuffs, etc. I'll bet his shoes weren't the best for running, either.

The other two cops are women.
