Scientific studies have pinpointed blue light as form of light that’s especially aggressive in triggering sleeplessness. Blue light suppresses melatonin production for more than twice as long as other light wavelengths, and alters circadian rhythms by twice the degree. Interference with the body’s 24-hour circadian rhythms can have a significant effect on health, creating problems with the cardiovascular, metabolic, and immune systems, disturbing mood, and compromising cognitive function.

I had a very vivid dream last night in which I bought a rather large book at B&N with a picture of a man looking sort of like Teddy Roosevelt inn full cry on the dust jacket with the title of the book - "THAT WAS THEN/THIS IS NOW" - split above and below the picture.
Not sure what this was supposed to mean, except that politicians' positions will "evolve" with the results of the last election.
I've gotten so used to the perfect illumination and font size in my e-books that reading a real book is problematic.
Anyway, it's rare to see someone out in the world looking around. Too bad, I think the world is more interesting than your tablet. The doctor's waiting room not so much.
Perhaps we should all start wearing rose-colored glasses in the evenings.
I just spent my Independence Day morning on the beach, with a mug of coffee, my dog, and a book to read on my cell phone. Fortunately, the sun came out and made the cell-phone screen completely unreadable, so I was forced to play with my dog instead.

Today I wandered through all the Proteas in bloom on Signal Hill, looking a bit east of Robben Island, toward the Indian Ocean on one side and the Atlantic on the other. I sat there thinking about the view from the other 2 southerly points I rode to, the spectacular but travel-comfy Cape Leeuwin, and the view across the Beagle Channel from Ushuaia at an extreme 68 degrees latitude, a few days after the desolate ride down the Straight of Magellan from the little fishing town of Porvenir.
This is the last time south. Made me a wee bit sad, tbh. But at breakfast, Emerald’s attack piece in the American Spectator had made me happy.
Is this where I mention that I don't own a cellphone and never have? (or a pager..remember them?)

I have no respect for Brian Ross, but I don’t see why he would be in hot water over this. It’s the job of journalists to get information, isn’t it?
