"... and said to Meade: That's what I thought. That's how I think I look walking around town. But I enjoyed the piano music. Reminded me of Chico Marx. I didn't recognize the music, but I said out loud: 'That's what bad taste sounded like 200 years ago.' And I mean that in an admiring way. Thanks for seeing me in her. I'm complimented. And I still do believe I traipse about in my natural habitat looking like broken-wrist Hillary."
I commented, in a thread where I was skimming, in which Mr. Fabulous said "She looks just a bit like the Professor, yes?" I'd blogged twice today about a picture of Hillary in India — here and here — but Mr. Fabulous was talking about Valentina Lisitsa playing "La Campanella":
"'La campanella'... is the nickname given to the third of Franz Liszt's six Grandes études de Paganini... Its melody comes from the final movement of Niccolò Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 2 in B minor, where the tune was reinforced by a little handbell."
To test my observation, here's Chico:

Good grief Ann. Hillary is a bitter, insane and obese alcoholic. And she changes her hairdo every week because she is sexually deprived and publically humiliated by her so-called husband.
You two have zero in common. And you certainly passed the bar on your first attempt.
Hillary is the most pathetic and corrupt politician in American history.
Chico's technique is cool and visibly funny. I've never seen that (or even that style) before.
As a serious pianist I can only imagine what it would take to modify how I play to imitate Chico. He's clearly really good.
James Blaine (presidential candidate in 1884) was more corrupt, but he’s probably the only one. However Blaine had been in the House of Representatives, eventually becoming Speaker. He was also a successful Secretary of State (in contrast to Clinton accomplishing nothing except an unnecessary war in Libya). So he was a corrupt politician, but not a pathetic one.
De gustibus ain't what it used to be.
Yes Jose marti, named Elaine in a poem, it wasnt complimentary.
I always hated Chico and I never liked the Harpo and his damn harp either.
Thank God For Groucho - he makes the Marx's Brothers films great.
Both blond lawyers over the age of 65.
Does Althouse wear contact lenses too?
Of course, Hillary doesn't have a artistic bone in her body. She was like that Girl from "Election" - a humorless go-getter from Day 1.
It was actually a monograph n the panamerican monetary congress, its intriguing to consider what would have happened if he had beat Cleveland in 1884.?
I saw your post earlier today about Hillary with the broken wrist, I looked through the photos and when I saw the one where she's smiling I thought that looks like Ann! lol
Do you have any idea of how fucking hard it is to play any of the Liszt "Transcendental Etudes"? Liszt was one of histories great pianists. He was, unlike Chopin, blessed with yuuuuge hands, so his pieces have enormous stretches that many pianists simply cannot do as written.
If you're curious, this is what La Campanella looks like.
You are pettier, Ann.
Mean girls tell female callers to the Suicide Hotline that they look like Hillary Clinton in India 2018.
I hope Luke Lea meant to type prettier!

Nope
Can you imagine going to a Marx Bros movie and then getting stuck with some piano concerto. They probably put that in to up the concession sales.......You're better looking than Hillary. Chico isn't, so it's not the lowest bar in the world.
YH says: He was, unlike Chopin, blessed with yuuuuge hands, so his pieces have enormous stretches that many pianists simply cannot do as written.
I knew that about Rachmaninoff but didn't know it about Liszt. Kind of wicked to compose music that can't be played [by most]. ;-)
I'd rather listen to Chico than watch Harpo. Even so, Groucho was always my fave.
Other than both being 'blonde', there seems to be zero resemblance between our lovely and beloved hostess and the Hildebeeste.

My father was a classically trained musician (trumpet), and he also admired Chico's style. Some might dismiss it as showy, but it inspired me to pursue music as a hobby. Harpo was also an accomplished pianist and his autobiography describes nights where he sat in for his brother and the audience was none the wiser. They were an amazing family.
I have been a huge consumer of Ms. Lisitsa's YouTube videos over the last few years. Highly recommended.
Not that you're the picture of innocence, but to me you've never looked like the sort of pretty person who belongs in prison.
But what about that toenail polish?
Valentina's hands are pretty big too. Her fingers are probably longer than Chico's, although less muscular.
Rcocean,
I'm just the opposite.
I get tired of Grouchos schtick pretty quickly. Harpo creeps me out to the point that I can't watch him. Gummo and Zeppo? Meh.
But Chico?I never get tired of him. Even though he is the one who told me there was no Sanity Clause.
