Trump leverages the anti-Trump press.

That's my theory, as I read — at Politico — "Trump escalates his war with U.S. law enforcement after memo release/The president hinted openly that he might yet fire senior officials over claims of bias against him."

What did Trump say that "hinted openly that he might yet fire senior officials"?

A reporter asked him if he's "likely to fire Rosenstein" and if he still had "confidence in" someone whose name I couldn't catch (maybe Rosenstein). And Trump just said "You figure that one out."

So the press takes that no-comment comment and runs with it, basically reporting on The Future. What might Trump do?

I was laughing about this last night as I tried to watch CNN. The Nunes memo had just come out, and the night before the memo came out, the talk had been about what might be in the memo, i.e., News of The Future. Once the memo was out, it was old news, because we'd already talked about what was in it, back when it was News of the Future. So the subject had to be who Trump will/will not fire in the coming Saturday Night Massacre.

Trump doesn't need to move a muscle. The media throw his weight around for him.

Normal Americans with any sense or knowledge of history and human nature are frightened by the thought of a powerful and unaccountable government agency which exists to protect its own interests rather than the people it is supposed to serve.

Democrats were worried about the FBI back in the '70's, which is why the Church Commission was created. But that's when the FBI was going after radicals so it was a bad agency then. Democrats are fine with a police state and a Stasi as long as the targets are "deplorable."

You can only judge someone by their actions and not by the scenarios you make up in your head.

The premise of this post is that President Trump lives rent free 24/7 in the heads of the press that is the avowed enemy of the normal every day American.

President Trump said “What do you think?” They think he will fire Rothstein and Mueller. Just like he was going to fire Tillerson. And John Kelly. And Sessions. And all of the other people that anonymous sources said were going to fired in a fit of pique by the “narcissistic madman Donald Trump.”

Guess what? None of that happened. It is a big bunch of bullshit. The press made it up. Just the way they make up 99% of the news. None of it is facts. They are not interested in facts. Only the narrative presented by their masters. They are lapdogs.

The notion that President Trump is controlled by the Kremlin is ludicrous on its face. President Trump ended the war on American Energy. Something the corrupt Hillary would never do. She would not have approved the pipelines. She would not have allowed drilling on federal land. She would have shut down the entire coal industry. She would have propped up the economy of her paymasters in Saudi Arabia and the Russians who are vitally dependent on energy income. Trump took that away from Russia. He provided arms to the Ukraine that Obama never did in the eight years he betrayed our nation as the friend of the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamist's everywhere. Everything President Trump does is the opposite of what Hillary would have done and against the interest of Russia. Once again facts. Facts that are absent from the fake news. Because facts do not matter. Only their fever dreams.

Finally the base canard that President Trump and the normals who support him are Anti-Semitic when in fact it is the liberals and Obama who are truly Jew-haters. It is the left who are behind the anti-Israel boycotts. President Trump is extremely popular in Israel. So much so that they are naming things after him like a railroad station. What did they name after Barack Obama? Hillary Clinton? John Kerry? The locations where Muslims murdered Jews but we can’t talk about because we would be “creating terrorists” by calling Muslim terror by its correct name? Maybe there is a public toilet they can name after them because all they ever did is shit on the Jews.

Facts are stubborn things. Which is why the media, the left and the lifelong republicans ignore them.

Then it's a very good thing that Trump won.

Who knows what "flexibility" Hillary promised to the Russians? You know, kinda like Obama promised Medvedev back in 2012 before the election . . .

That kinda "flexibility" gave Putin's cronies control over a fifth of our uranium, which is quite useful for making nuclear weapons and powering nuclear submarines and warships. Hillary also promised to curtail fracking, and Obama put vast amounts of American oil reserves in the "off-limits" category, both of which are things the Russians would love us to do.

Luckily, Trump wants to expand American energy dominance by drilling for oil, not only offshore, but in Alaska as well. Things like that make Russia quite unhappy. And Inga likes it when Russia is unhappy, so she ought to be cheering for President Trump. But cognitive dissonance is a pretty powerful force when one is as weak minded as Inga.

Every young boy who was raped by Kevin Spacey or Brian Singer or Ryan Murphy was asking for it because they went into a room with them.

So every black gangbanger who committed a crime has no rights under the law as a citizen. No Miranda rights. No rights against self-incrimination. No civil rights because of who they are.

Because who you are determines what civil rights you have. That is of course the standard of liberals and ACLU. So it is not a big surprise.

Ever since the election, Trump and Ann and some of her readers have decided that the real scandal is how Hillary Clinton not only sits at the head of an international criminal conspiracy, but is herself guilty of cooperating with the Russians, employing the sophisticated "I'm rubber, you're glue" defense.

You're the one propping her up here. Do I believe she knew all of this? Sure. But it's not because of being the head of some conspiracy, but because like all liberals (moreso in Clinton's case), she thought she was entitled to lead the country. It really is nothing more than that.

Trump and Ann and some of her readers, standing strong to defend the civil rights of patriotic Americans such as Carter Page and Gen. Michael Flynn.

Reread the prior responses, and if it gets through that skull of yours, you'll see why some of us really do think those two were being used as patsies in a bigger scheme. I won't hold my breath hoping this gets through, however.

Under Obama, we promised to curtail all sorts of energy usage as part of the Paris Climate Accords. Another thing that tickles Putin's fancy. Trump took us out of those accords, and Putin now has a sad face. Hillary would have kept us in, so thankfully she lost.

Under Obama, we were on the verge of unilateral reductions in nuclear arms. Putin was overjoyed at this news. Under Trump, we're striving to modernize our nukes and even build new ones to stay a step ahead of the Russkies and the ChiComms. Again, Putin isn't pleased.

But somehow Trump is a Russian stooge. Because Inga says so.

Under Obama, we rarely ever hit 3% GDP growth. Under Trump, growth is booming and manufacturing jobs are coming back.

Besides they just took out a jihadi convoy in Syria.

Kyzer SoSay म्हणाले...

Nadler's memo is horseshit. Let's see:

To their first point, we know that without the dossier, there would have been no FISA authorization. If the dossier wasn't an important piece of "evidence", it would not have been used as justification for enhanced wiretapping. So that first point is destroyed pretty swiftly. Their first point also relies on believing that Obama's DOJ, operating under Loretta "Tarmac Meeting" Lynch, was on the level. This claim is patently false and serious people know it to the bone.

Their second point, that Steele is a Russia "expert", is heavily reliant on the following claim, to wit: " the Nunes memo does not provide a single shred of evidence that any aspect of the Steele dossier is false or inaccurate in any way." Yet we KNOW that much of the evidence in the dossier is in fact quite false, in some cases hilariously so. The few things in there that are true are totally inconsequential and do nothing to support the claims of collusion. Nothing. Even James Comey referred to the memo as "salacious and unverified", and whether he was speaking of only certain portions or the whole thing (and the case can be made either way), the fact remains that this point is irrelevant. The memo doesn't NEED to prove that the dossier is false - that wasn't the point of the memo to begin with - because ALREADY KNOW that most of the dossier was false. So, "expert" or not, Steele's dossier was a load of shit. Experts can lie too.

The third point they raise is that "Trump better not fire Rosenstien because the memo doesn't make the case for it". Okay, fine. Plenty of other instances of lies and malfeasance on Rod Rosentien's part provide ample pretext for firing him, and the fact is that he serves at the pleasure of the president, who may fire him at any time for any reason, including whether or not he likes the color of his tie that day. So, this point is 100% moot.

The fourth and final point raised is nothing more than a partisan attempt to cast aspersion on the House GOP. It's nothing but invective and tantrums.

So yeah, in Inga's world, that's a slam-dunk.

For the rest of us, read it yourself and laugh, because that's really all the Democrats are good for these days.

Inga...Allie Oop म्हणाले...

Kyzer SoSay म्हणाले...

Walter,

I caught that too. Clearly they rushed the Nadler Nothingburger out, because it's pretty shoddy and really drives home how desperate they are to divert attention. The Democrats are upset that the memo doesn't say things it was never going to say, like how we all know that the Steele dossier contained falsehoods or how it doesn't give Trump the ammo he needs to fire Rosenstein. But neither of those were necessary for the Nunes memo to still be damning - and damning it is.

Citizens have rights regardless of their behavior. A criminal has civil rights until such time as he is convicted in a court by a jury of his peers. Even then he still has rights.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton do not believe that. Which is why they weaponized the IRS, the FBI, the Justice Depatment the federal regulatory bureacracy against their political opponents.

Most normals do not think that is right. They think citizens have civil rights and a reasonable expectation of privacy no matter what party the belong to or who they voted for President.

I dunno, Inga, for a 71 year old, Trump has an undeniably high energy level. His campaign schedule would have worn out many men half his age. Whatever his weight is, it doesn't seem to be slowing him down.

Whereas fat-assed Hillary barely campaigned, although she went to a lot of fundraisers. The old crone might fall over walking to her car, but she perks up whenever she can get her talons on some cash.

He campaigned like hell. She didn't. She lost. The Democrats said: Let's blame the Russians instead of our shitty candidate!

The republicans chose to send the most experienced prosecutor from the republican side, and that was Trey Gowdy.

He's quite the little authoritarian.

I also cannot even begin to explain away Obama's comment about flexibility to the Russians or Hillary's role in selling our uranium rights to the Russians, nor can I truly grasp how Bill Clinton being paid mucho dinero for a speech in Moscow somehow reflects poorly on Trump. More on Strozk and his feelings about the reopening of the Clinton email investigation, subsequent to the discovery on Weiner's laptop . . .

"Strzok did, however, harbor reservations about Comey making a public announcement just days before the election and sent a text message to that effect, two sources said. And Strzok's text messages provided to Congress show him grappling with the fallout of making the letter public, according to a CNN review of his texts.

Two sources who reviewed the text messages between Strzok and Page said they exchanged messages on November 6, when Page said she didn't know if they should issue a public statement, which Strzok agreed with. The two did not describe which statement they were referring to, but that same day, Comey sent another public letter to Congress to close the Clinton email investigation -- just two days before the election."

So, Strzok didn't want to make a public announcement, and probably only co-wrote the letter because he was ordered to. Not exactly a conscientious act, but rather a "gotta do this to keep my job" act.

Let's not forget that he changed "gross negligence" to "extremely careless" in the first exoneration announcement made by Comey, in an effort to salvage the Clinton campaign - since gross negligence is the standard for prosecution.

Yeah, there's no doubt which side Strzok was on. He made it clear as day. But Inga apparently has 20/400 vision, so she needs it even clearer than that.

Trouble is, Gen. Flynn pleaded guilty in December to lying to the FBI about his contacts with foreign officials and added at the time that he was cooperating with Mueller. It's of course a terrible shame that this patriot should have been coerced by the deep state into a guilty plea, but there you have it. Flynn has pleaded guilty, the deep state has swallowed him, and he and his lawyers haven't been leaking anything. Goodness knows what lies his interrogators will extract in their diabolical plot against Donald Trump, so unfairly maligned. What can be done?

Flynn's sentencing has been delayed while the Mueller probe rolls on. Outrage alert: it's possible that Gen. Michael Flynn, in the crisis of his life, may remember the oath he took to defend the Constitution and turn state's evidence against Donald Trump, dupe, stooge or witting agent of the Russian intelligence services.

What can be done?

Let's play out Chuck's fantasy.

In Chuck's fantasy Pence would be president for 2.5 years in a wounded administration. It would have to kowtow to the democrats who would win congressional majorities in 2018 because the Republican party would be completely shattered.

In 2020 there would be zero chance a Republican won anything on the national stage.

Chuck knows this. The democrats know this. Republicans know this. Trump supporters know this.

I would be a little hesitant at this point to hang my Trump is a Russian spy hopes on this considering the following:
1) The information that has leaked out and will continue to be exposed by the Grassley, Goodlatte and Horowitz reports
2) The forced (yes, "forced") recusal of the Judge overseeing the Flynn case (who just so happened to be the FISA court judge who signed off on what appears to be (and will be argued shortly improper) surveillance yielding "fruit of the poison tree" info which was the basis for the charge
3) Mueller's and team's very very very sudden postponement of the sentencing Hearing from 3 days ago and
4) The brand new reports that Flynn and his lawyers are contemplating withdrawing from the plea and fighting it

Now, I wonder what might have happened in the last couple of weeks that might have changed the legal "conditions on the ground" that might have precipitated #4)?

Oh yeah, numbers 1) thru 3).

But that's just me. I mean, Mueller has Flynn dead to rights, right? What would the changing of the judge change?

I mean, just because there are additional reports that McCabe and potentially others directed some agents (who appear to be cooperating with IG Horowitz probe) to alter their formal interview (302) Notes.

Especially when the corrupt tool heading up the DOJ has already abdicated her responsibility to make that decision. But it is not actually the same as being tried for those crimes and found not guilty, or being charged with those crimes and having the charges dismissed with prejudice.

So does the entire Republican membership of the HPSCI:

CHARGE: The memo is intended to undermine the Special Counsel’s ongoing Russia
investigation

Response from the Republican members of the HPSCI:
The memo has nothing to do with the Special Counsel’s investigation, and is
intended to expose past abuses of the FISA process, namely Senior DOJ and FBI officials'
use of unverified opposition research. That research was financed by a presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, and resulted in a surveillance warrant on an American citizen. Further, consistent with its bipartisan commitment not to impede any ongoing investigation, the Committee has not sought documents or information post-dating the appointment of the Special Counsel in May 2017.

Similar to the reports that Rod Rosenstein threatened the entire republican membership of the House intel committee that constitutionally mandated to perform oversight of the DOJ (as part of the executive branch).

There are now separate republicans coming forth from the committee that say Rod Rosenstein, in a meeting three weeks ago, threatened to subpeona the texts and messages of Chairman Nunes and members of Congress because he was tired of dealing with the intel committee.

Expect to hear much more about this threat soon.

Can you imagine? Threatening with abuse of law enforcement processes sitting congresspersons who have the constitutionally mandated authority to conduct oversight.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

Huh. Nadler's memo also illegally leaked.

I'm glad Democrats take NATIONAL SECURITY so seriously.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

The very first point is wrong:

"The FISA court found probable cause to believe that Carter Page is an agent of a
foreign power. Nothing in the Nunes memo rules out the possibility that
considerable evidence beyond the Steele dossier helped the court reach that
conclusion."

-- It doesn't matter if there was other evidence. McCabe acknowledged that, without the dossier, the other evidence wasn't enough. They NEEDED the dossier. It doesn't matter how much other evidence there was.

"Christopher Steele is a recognized expert on Russia and organized crime."

-- That doesn't matter since his objectivity was what was being questioned, not his professionalism. Though, we also know he didn't bring much of that to the table, since the FBI had to fire him for breaking confidentiality. So, the second Nadler point is flawed.

"The Nunes memo provides no credible basis whatsoever for removing Rod Rosenstein as Deputy Attorney General."

-- Did the Nunes memo say to do that? I mean, I'd think someone signing off on using tainted evidence would be a good reason to think about replacing him, but the biggest reason to remove him would be if it was true he went to Trump to try and quash the Congressional investigation. This isn't even a point that matters.

"The Nunes memo shows that House Republicans are now part and parcel to an organized effort to obstruct the Special Counsel’s investigation."

-- It in no way shows that. The only obstruction has been Nadler and Schiff's leaks of their memos, Rosenstein going to Trump to quash it, and Stzork and Page subverting the investigation, along with the potential secret methods of communication they and others used to avoid FOIA. The memo in no way impedes the investigation.

I am curious how a 1978 court case relates to the secret FISA courts.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"We should not lose sight of a critical and undisputed fact: the Foreign Intelligence
Surveillance Court found probable cause to believe that Carter Page—a member of the Trump
campaign’s foreign policy team—was an agent of the Russian government."

-- Actually, they did not find that. They found that the FBI and others could go fishing. If they had probable cause to believe that, they'd have arrested Page then and there. They were LOOKING for the proof he was a foreign agent.

How fundamentally wrong is the Nadler memo?

McCabe acknowledged ...

Worth a big fat bold and a repeat

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"First, the Nunes memo appears to concede that the investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to the Russian government was well underway before the government applied for an order to conduct surveillance of Carter Page. In its final paragraph, the Nunes memo states: “[t]he Papadopoulos information triggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence
investigation in late July 2016.” The statement refers to George Papadopoulos, another member of the Trump campaign’s foreign policy team. There is no reason to dispute the Nunes memo’s assertion that the FBI was actively investigating the Trump campaign months before they approached the court about Carter Page."

-- The Nunes memo went on to say: "The Page FISA application also mentions information regarding fellow Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos, but there is no evidence of any cooperation or conspiracy between Page and Papadopoulos." In other words, deliberately conflating the two is a logical error.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

" “knowingly and intentionally, or with reckless disregard for the truth,” included false information or excluded true information that was or would have been critical to the court’s determination of probable cause. The Nunes memo alleges nothing that would even come close to meeting this standard."

-- Ah, there's how they are relating that 1978 case to the modern FISA.

Well, I'd say telling the court political operatives did it, while sitting on the knowledge that it was Team Clinton, Trump's enemies, instead of the Republicans, his nominal allies that did it, while the rest of the world thought it was the Republicans GREATLY changes what we have.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves म्हणाले...

7:38 Matthew Sablan

Excellent points. I hope you won't mind if I save them as a rebuttal to the leftwing lie machine trolls.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"So, to be clear: Carter Page was, more likely than not, an agent of a foreign power. The Department of Justice thought so. A federal judge agreed. That consensus, supported by the facts, forms the basis for the warrant issued by the FISA court. The Russian government waged a massive campaign to discredit our election. Carter Page appears to have played a role in that effort. "

-- Has Page been indicted? If Democrats say we know this, I'm sure has been. Right?

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"The Nunes memo would have us sweep this all under the rug. "

-- All the Nunes memo does is say the information should have been shared. The court may have still decided that it was worth surveillance. They probably would have, given how rare it is for FISA courts to deny the warrant. The fact the government chose secrecy and silence over full and open presentation of facts is the problem -- not that the warrant happened. (Though I think the warrant relying so heavily on a document even the FBI doesn't fully trust is problematic.)

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...
ही टिप्पणी लेखकाना हलविली आहे.
Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"And, amazingly, the Nunes memo does not provide a single shred of evidence that any aspect of the Steele dossier is false or inaccurate in any way."

-- If Nadler doesn't know that much of the dossier is wrong, well, then again, what was the point of this memo?

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"In fact, Fusion GPS initiated the project on behalf of the conservative Washington Free Beacon, not the DNC."

-- Yeah. So. Nadler doesn't understand the chronology. At all.

His memo is useless to us. But, this is why it was important for the FBI to make clear that the dossier was paid for by Clinton. Because even Nadler, who has all the documents and layers of editors/fact checkers STILL is making this error months after the Clinton campaign/DNC finally admitted it was them.

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"Only Donald Trump, who will use these half-truths to further interfere with the Special Counsel, and Vladimir Putin, who now has a clear view of how our intelligence community attempted to interrupt his operations in the United States."

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

"It is apparently a given, but I haven't heard anyone talk about why the FBI wanted Hillary to win."

There *is no challenger in FISA court.*
