Said Katie Way, the reporter who wrote up the story about bad sex with Aziz Ansari. She's criticizing Ashleigh Banfield, a Headline News anchor who'd criticized that story.
Nothing says feminism like a woman criticizing another woman's hair and makeup... and yet, I find it hard to watch cable news because I feel bad about the extremely heavy makeup and the mussy spaniel ears of hair/"hair" on just about all of the newswomen.

Feminism is all about empowerment and intellectual seriousness. But if you criticize them they will have something to say about your hair.
cat fight.
Katie is barely literate. Perfect for a "journalist" for an online magazine for children

I don't feel bad about it-- at least I'm not conscious that I feel bad...maybe I do?-- but I've found myself so distracted by the heavy makeup and revealing clothes and glittery jewelry and poufy hair that I don't hear a word they're saying.
Nothing says feminism like missing hyphens.
""I hope the ~500 RTs on the single news write-up made that burgundy-lipstick-bad-highlights-second-wave-feminist-has-been feel really relevant for a little while.""
Thus. Or the mad libs version:
""I hope the _____ (noun) on the ____ (noun) made that _____ (noun) feel really _____ (adjective) for a little while.""
Okay, is RT for “Road & Track” magazine? Russia Today TV? Route (on a map)?
Retweet ... I guess.
Fitting follow-up to a comment thread about some guy's weight.
I know what you mean about the overdone makeup and hair. I've noticed how impossibly long their eyelashes are now. It all seems to go with the over-the-top emoting that's part of the cable news business. I think a counter example is Shannon Bream on her Fox News @ Night program. Everything seems more toned down, including the makeup -- which makes her show seem more sane and professional. Even if I agree with the opinions being offered, I can only stand so much shouting. I reached that limit a few years ago.
Catherine Herridge offers a good counter-example.
Women used to leave their panties under the bed, or baubles on a side table.
This is the first time I've seen a miserable one-night-stand documented in the press in an attempt to ruin the guy's sex life.
If Aziz Ansari is typical of what passes for men nowadays, I am so thankful I'm no longer in the dating pool.
I've never felt so far above the fray in my life.
I know it's an old joke, but they should put Katie Way's photo next to the definitions of both "career suicide" and "burning bridges" in Oxford's Picture Dictionary. Maybe next to "moron" and "fucking idiot" too. Why, why, why would someone with an IQ > 100 both draft & send that email.
Here in LA, the anchormen and weathermen dress as if they're going to a sales meeting at a Mercedes dealership. The anchorwomen and weather-women dress as if they're going to a cocktail party.
The left should learn. They're one heresy away from being treated like a Republican.
Back in the day when a dollar was a dollar, Mort Sahl described local newscasters as "a thirty-five dollar hairdo on a ten-cent head."
When I was growing up we watched The Huntley-Brinkley Report and Walter Cronkite. They worked very hard at being serious. Then, in very deliberate and planned segments, they would offer a bit of levity. It was well acted.
Cable news today more resembles a live suicide watch or a documentary on Nurse Ratched's wing of the loony farm.
I guess I preferred the pretend professional seriousness of the Huntley-Brinkley Report over the lunatic SJW seriousness of HLN.
The e-mail by Katie Way gives you all you need to know about young "journalists" today. She was like totally agitato.
Yeah, I read that email in full. I can't believe lovely young women like this are having trouble landing Prince Charming in the dating world!
See you next Tuesday. Christ.
I read that nobody at the “publication” that first ran the story was over 25, so I can see why they would ridicule for getting older
The hilarious thing is the tagline for Babe.net is "Babe is for girls who don't give a fuck"
Hahaha! People who say they don't give a fuck are the highest strung people around.
@Karen,
"If Aziz Ansari is typical of what passes for men nowadays, I am so thankful I'm no longer in the dating pool"
True. I don't wanna continually bash on young, clueless feminists. These Beta Males are a pretty sorry lot, too. Kinda pathetic.
We need more kids to watch John Wayne movies, get into more street fights, and not go to college. We are developing generations of loser Beta Males.
Brave?!?!? “Grace” is “brave”??? She hides her identity but she’s “brave”? She hasn’t got the courage to tell her date she prefers red wine, but she’s “brave”? She runs around his apartment naked and fellates him twice because she lacks the gumption to say “No, I’m not comfortable with this,” but she’s “brave”?
On what planet?
"I find it hard to watch cable news because I feel bad about the extremely heavy makeup and the mussy spaniel ears of hair/"hair"..."
Sounds like Rachel Maddow is the dog for your newsreader needs.
Mean girls.
And, as a final insult, Aziz Ansari did not properly grab her by the pussy....
Their do seen to be mixed signals, coming from her, Lol.
Turn off the TV and don't read soft porn shite
FIFY
I find that it's impossible for me to give any consideration to this episode without picturing Koothrappali as the leading man.
We are all just here for a time. Plenty other things to do and see.
I have some sound advice for Ms. Way ; If you can't take it, don't dish it out. Good Lord, the poor little snowflake totally melted down.
“...too much sadness hath congealed your blood, and melancholy is the nurse of frenzy.”

Judging by "Grace," Katie Way, and the stories coming out of American campuses, I feel sorry for Millennial men who are dating Millennial women in an effort to find the rare one who is a genuine potential life partner, wife, and mother to his children. Ansari failed to recognize her non-verbal cues. Okay, which non-verbal cues? Like when you lifted your arms to make it easier to take off your sweater? Or was it the cue when you turned slightly so he could reach the clasp on your bra? Or maybe it was the cue when you raised your hips to help him pull down your pants? Be sure to let us know.
I have never noticed the hair or make up of any news anchor...male or female.
“He sat back and pointed to his penis and motioned for me to go down on him. And I did. I think I just felt really pressured.”
Not sure that the non-verbal cues would have been more help than the verbal ones.
You must learn to recognize regret on the back of the neck.
MEG opined:
"Katie Way has a Bachelors of Science in Journalism... from Northwestern."
Ah..not just a moron...an oxymoron.

Himanshu,
Meade was just asking about someone like you.
Serendipity!
I thought that was a mistake but there really is a bachelor of science degree in journalism. Seems to be at least several schools offering it.
So does that make Katie way a "scientist"
Actually a BS degree in journalism seems to be pretty apt.
But seriously folks, how is journalism a "science"?

Journalism is the major in college suggested by the guidance counselor when the student asks the question, "what can I major in that I don't have to take math or science?"
I too remark to myself about the uniformity of dress, makeup and hair of female newsreaders. dresses too short, not flattering, the cylindrical curls surrounding the face, the revealing necklines (I have been complaining about this since the early 90s with Dominic Sachasa on Channel 2 Houston, but it made her career). How do feminists (and pseudo-feminists) complain about sexual harassment when every outfit states first , "here are my boobs, look at them".?
It was bad sex for her, but it was fantastic sex for Aziz.
When I was single, I didn't care how uncomfortable a girl "looked" or "seemed". For most girls, that's simply their "anti-slut defense" affecting their mood - as in, they have the internal conflict of probably wanting to suck me, but not wanting to seem like a slut while doing it.
Hint, ladies, if you're naked in my house on the first date and even thinking about going down on me, you're a slut. No question about it. So just relax and loosen them lips up.
This "Grace" chick was a grade-A slut (though, to be fair, maybe only for celebrities - I bet most regular guys have to work a bit harder - but only a bit), and she didn't want Aziz to think of her that way, but she also couldn't deny her true nature. This is all about regret about one's own sluttiness. Aziz is not a physically intimidating man, she clearly had nothing to fear in that regard. And as we learn, he immediately stopped when she finally squeaked out a "no". So, this girl did what she did willingly, while subconsciously shouting down the voice in her head that was telling her "he's gonna know you're a slut!".
"“He sat back and pointed to his penis and motioned for me to go down on him. And I did. I think I just felt really pressured.”
Ahhhhh, still daddy's little girl.
Please pass the popcorn. And does anyone have junior mints or whoppers?
