Um, i got nothing much. I was going to riff off mr Gibsons use of the phrase "shaken a little bit" ...... Sweet baby Jesus, if this is - in Mels mind - "a little bit" of shake I am curious what he considers "topsy turvy"
... But more importantly i didnt think mr rh had to go 5 for 5.
Once more. These mooks aren’t upset because women were being victimized. They are livid because us flyover folks found out. And spoiled their exclusive fun.
It's probably true in politics as well, Drago -- Hollywood for ugly people. The older brother of a best friend is running for the US House in 2018. He asked him straight up: Do you have any skeletons of any kind in your closet? He said no, but that doesn't stop some jilted woman in his past from dredging up a "signed" yearbook.
They seem to focus solely on the antisemitic comments. Wasn't that stop where he referred to an officer as "Sugar Tits"? Classic. rhhardin, Give yourself a few minutes to collect your thoughts and you can post once...especially since it's basically one thought anyway.
You know the worst part. Watching one of those Hollywood classics featuring a woman you idolized as you entered puberty and wondering in your old age what she did to get the part.
Men are chosen by women. I'm talking about evolution. Women aren't the only factor selecting which men have children and which don't, but they are definitely a big part of the equation. It's often said we are monogamous species but that's not really true. Not only have there been many societies where the ideal man has multiple wives, as is true for both Islam and east Asia, but even in the Christian west where monogamy is the ideal, there are many successful men that had multiple wives, just not at the same time.
And then on top of that we need consider all the adulterous sex and the babies born that aren't actually the children of the husband. So female sexual preference really matters. It must have had a huge impact over the millions of years of hominoid evolution.
And that means that the typical male sexual behavior is exactly what appeals to the typical female, as far as biology is shaping things.
Well if that's the case, and I'm sure it is, then why are so many women unhappy with men sexually?
Well it could be that most women are not actually unhappy with typical male sexual behavior, and that it's really only a minority of women that are driving the culture war here. Or it could be that unhappiness is baked into the cake and it's the just the nature of reality that we are often going to be unhappy. Or it could be that unhappiness has value and unhappy people are more successful from that an evolutionary perspective than happy people.
I kind of doubt that last hypothesis, but I have to allow that it might be the case.
But if we succeed in suppressing normal male sexual behavior towards women, I have a suspicion we will end with even more frustrated and unhappy women than we have now.

It appears that everyone down to the wardrobe folks and key grips knows whats going on, and apparently many of them participated as well.
In George Hamilton's memoir, he said his mother once told him that in 1930s Hollywood "for a woman to become a star she would probably have had to sleep with an entire studio. Example: the casting director to get the role; the producers and director to keep the role; the camera, makeup, and lighting men to make sure you looked good; the film editor, so he didn't leave your best work on the cutting room floor; and so on and so on."
I am with RH Hardon. I see nothing healthy in any of this. It is mob hysteria. I like the point about mathematicians. I mean when will we see all the women come forward regarding postal clerks, insurance agents, motel employees, gas station attendants, electric utility workers, bakers, dentists, farmers, travel agents, printers and plumbers? Come on, if this is supposed to be some grand sexual awareness re-education extravaganza transforming and taming the American male, let's not discriminate. Enough of Hollywood and has-been pols. No one identifies with them anyway. Give us the man on the street. Drag them all through the street. Let's not pussy-foot around. A revolution is not a tea party.
Color me skeptical. Or incredulous. Biology will out, everywhere and every time, and it's madness to think our age is an exception. Justice and fairness, absolutely. But the patriarchy isn't going anywhere. Not in the long run.
Once again, Black people have been drowned out by the demands of White women. Funny how that keeps happening.
Drago asks... The question is, who wouldn't be next in Hollywood? Who emerges unscathed? Anyone at all?
As I wrote elsewhere earlier today: "Give it a couple of months and there won't be a man still working in Hollywood, Silicon Valley, the television networks, the comedy circuit or in Congress. And then they'll start in on the music industry and the sports world, and other target-rich environments."
The only ones left standing will be Teflon Trump and No-Women-But-Wife Pence.
My mind kind of wandered as I read the article. After quoting Mel Gibson's comments, why did they reference Alex Baldwin's misbehavior? Sure, he may have said racist things, and he probably drank too much, but what does that have to do with sexual assault and harrassment?
I bet if Mel could do a good impression of Trump all his misbehaviors would be forgiven, too.
Apropo of nothing, there is this little novel, by forge volpi one of the Latin America an new wave writers from mexico, in search of klingsor its about German scientists in the 30s, notably Warner heisenberg and his fictional American counterpart Francis bacon. and his opposite science gauletier Conrad stark
He's no longer a leading man, and his scandal is stale. There are so many fresh new faces to disapprove of, and the sermons just now are not directed at anti Semites and belligerent drunks. He's in a safe space. I think some people in Hollywood for purely selfish reasons would like to see him rehabilitated.......... Plus, as a director, he's genuinely talented. Not many great woman roles in his films, but perhaps that's all for the best.
Apocalypto is about a decadent tyrannical ruling class trying to deal with a series of social disasters in a hysterical orgy of human sacrifice. Eventually their final exterminators show up.

Think of a man and take away reason and accountability.
You can't have shadows without light. It's a matter of where the lights are.
It's actually not healthy. It's mob hysteria playing to entertain women.
Finally they've had it with men, a posture as entertainment.
One side effect will be a fuck-it reaction from men. Have a nice life.
There have been no mathematician scandals as far as I know, beyond one woman turning me in to HR for a lunch table remark about kettle logic.
Sounds like Mel Gibson knows he's next.
Are men obligated to name names? Mr. Gibson knows many, many sexist pigs.

Pain is usually a precursor to more pain.
Avid women is hard when I have a wife and three daughters but I do pretty much avoid non-family women.
I don't worry about myself but I do worry about my grandson.

The question is, who wouldn't be next in Hollywood? Who emerges unscathed? Anyone at all?
And if someone in the upper echelon of Hollywood is not involved, how much did they know about others involvement and for how long?
It appears that everyone down to the wardrobe folks and key grips knows whats going on, and apparently many of them participated as well.
Astonishing.
How does one change human nature, particularly its variants?
How bad is this scandal? It is so bad that Mel Gibson is a voice of reason.

Mel Gibson film reference - Apocalyto
Maybe, after this, James Cavaziel will be able to get work.
He was blackballed after "Passion"

Beware, female and male chauvinist pigs. The tell-tale hearts beat ever louder.
The twilight fringe is illuminated by the dawn's early light.

mandrewa,
Elmore Leonard always said Chick Lit was full of rape and adverbs.

I generally discount stuff that comes out of people's mouths. If you take that away from Mel Gibson, his sins dwindle.

Very astute.
I think it's also worth noting that Jodi Foster stuck with him, even to make a film that bombed.

This should save Franken too.
Everything on the social net is
narcissism and novelty
our media still tells us what to care about
Seems "wimmen troubles" are NEW after 8 years of bliss.
There are a million stories in the naked city
How long will we care about which starlet got touched or which ugly congressman or comedian did the flashing?
Thursday we can celebrate Puritanism's survival.
Some of these comments are just as funny as the joke thread.
Who'll be outed next? I say Brian Stelter of CNN, a weaselly looking pervert if there ever was one.
"It’s painful, but I think pain is a precursor to change."
That is Truth right there.
Sadly.
