"Western astrology, on the other hand, is seen as more fun. Much as some Westerners have embraced Eastern practices like Buddhism, young Chinese are gravitating toward Western astrology because they say it is new and exotic. “People don’t get as excited about traditional culture because it’s too familiar,” said Liu Hongchen, an astrologer known as Eskey among his more than nine million followers on Weibo, a popular microblogging site. 'The younger generation likes Western culture more, and the interest in Western astrology is a perfect example of this.'"
There's even job discrimination against Virgos and in favor of Scopios, Geminis, and Capricorns.

Sounds like a liberal society that has embraced [class] diversity.
" ... job discrimination against Virgos ... "
I hear Dennis Hoff is hiring Virgos only. This blog can't even get the facts straight.
This era has a '70's vibe to it.

Nor can I. It's Hof. Not Hoff.
Hope he didn’t notice that I misspelled his name on my job application.
I do love Lao Tzu Sky Child:
“A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.”
I remembered the first half. Forgot the last. Glad I looked it up.
All that Scorpio stuff is so Medieval. I'm an INTP.
"Their's" is always better than "our's."

Well, if I ever move to China, at least I've got that going for me..
What morons. Don't they know it's bad luck to be superstitious?
"Much as some Westerners have embraced Eastern practices like Buddhism, young Chinese are gravitating toward Western astrology because they say it is new and exotic. “
Or, they could just gravitate toward real science. It's just a thought.
I’m Taurus
With moon in Uranus.
Bullshit.
I have somewhere a recording of Vivian Bu on Radio Taiwan shortwave in 1997 going over the Chinese zodiac, in a Chinese culture program.
That was the older generation though.
This should get the cultural appropriation tag.
Click bait. Thanks NYT.
I am with Lao Tzu.
In my case, people wander by, asking each other "who is that old guy who talks to himself and shouts a lot"?
I don't care if Asians are into Astrological Signs, just use your turn-signal once in a while.
I am Laslo.
Ancient Chinese secret
The large hadron collider has discovered two additional zodiac signs but they don't last long. They break down into snake and rabbit.
There is zero science behind Astrology, but it does help crazy people to accept other crazy people as different weirdos from themselves. The Meyers-Briggs Tests do the same thing.
What about Pisces? Must we always be last in the daily horoscope? Nobody has ever written a song or poem about Pisces! "Hi, I'm a Pisces. That's, uh, nice - I guess." Water covers more than 3/4 of the earth. And nobody talks about fish. Except for things like cold and dead and mackerel. I hate mackerel but it's not fair to blame me for them.
Enough NYT already
