I am listening to an audible reading of Churchill and Orwell. Amazing how many people were never-Churchill until May 1940. Then they all rallied around him because he was the ONLY one willing to fight the Germans. The Chamberlain believers in appeasing Hitler even came over to Churchill's leadership.

I planted two peonies on Mom's grave in Forest Hills. They've nowhere near that far along. The one on the south side of my house, though, is almost done.

It was very, very close. If Halifax had become PM (the king liked Halifax and did not like Churchill), the war would have been lost.

@Trad, because you said search for it. I didn't understand at all what you were saying about Macron speaking on Trump's behalf to Russia. It seemed unlikely. So I Googled macron speech Trump Russia. That's what came up.
Could you find me either a YouTube or a transcript of what it was you were talking about? As you are aware, I support the President and would be glad of international good news. Thank you.
