It was no shoker, by contrast, that Trump also tweeted that Cruz “will loose big to Hillary.”Etc. etc. etc.
Again and again, Trump loosed his way. Ridiculous became “rediculous,” Phoenix became “Phoneix” (a felicitous phonics failure), and many paid attention when Trump proclaimed that he was not “bought and payed for.”
Laugh at him all you want, elitist snobs. You laid back and laughed — layed bak and laffed — and let him win the presidency. I will never assume that any damned thing Trump does is not a devious genius plan to win. N neether shd u.

Trump is President, rich and married to a model. Milbank is not.
I can think of ($)1.4 billion reasons why Trump's spelling errors aren't nearly as dumb as some of Obama's.
If the so called Press ever beats Kellyann Conway in just one interview/debate, where they are controlling the microphone, then we can discuss the Press' superiority to 45.
Confusing intelligence with proper grammar, spelling, or elocution is an error of conceit. The converse of this error is to confuse elocution, grammar, and spelling with intelligence. George W. Bush is nearly inarticulate at times, but quite intelligent. Obama's elocution and skin color propelled him to the presidency, but I have yet to see evidence of his vaunted intellectual capacity. Bill Clinton is highly intelligent and articulate. Trump stumbles with his vocalizations and is careless with facts, but he is by no means stupid.
They're typos usually, anyway if the guy is a fast typist.
I never use spellcheck either. Enjoy the wordplay. Orro strikes.
Cute. She and her readers will feel better about themselves for a moment.

Death to the Oxford comma.
A lot of people spell "lose" incorrectly. adding the extra "o" because it feels right.
The constraints of the medium encourage embracing license.
Reminds me of an episode of Sex in the City. I swear, I didn't watch a lot of that, but did see the last few minutes of an episode where the girls were lamenting that someone they knew had married a rich, handsome man with whom she would have rich, handsome children. They were really mad about it. Then the mail came and in it was a thank you note from the aforesaid bride. In it she had written they're for there (or perhaps vice versa) the girls were ecstatic because the aforesaid bride was an idiot. Hurray!
Of course the idiot was still married to a rich, handsome man with whom she was going to have rich, handsome children.
John Wayne school a' elocution.
Dana had nothing else to write about apparently.
I hope Dana Milbank can spell oblivion, insignificant, and lose.
Belmont Club always, always, uses its for it's and vice versa, apparently knowing there's a rule but getting it strictly backwards.
Hey Little Dana has layers of fact checkers to correct his spelling, So there is that.
It's one thing to make an error when typing, it's another thing to let a word come out of your mouth like "corpseman" when speaking.
Dana had nothing else to write about apparently.
Exactly. Always remember they have to put out a column.
Dooshnozel
Dana Milbank a leading member of the mob intent on representing only 5% of all the counties of the United States instead of the current 20% of the United States.
Nixon is rumored to have been a Quacker.

I remember that.
It was "their" for "there."
That's the kind of homophone typo that happens all the time when you type. I've found that whenever I've done a post making fun of some typo, I have made a typo. Typo karma is a beast.
He who spelt it dealt it.
I am Laslo.
Four Sale.
Milbank and Krugman have exhibited over-the-top hatred of Trump and been wrong about him, time after time.
Just after the election, Milbank wrote a column describing his daughter's fear that Trump would stick her in a death camp, or deport her: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/to-my-daughter-you-are-going-to-be-okay/2016/11/09/2508487e-a6af-11e6-ba59-a7d93165c6d4_story.html.
I wonder where she got that idea, Milbank?

Yep, if your going to be a smartass, you need to remember that "smart" is an important element of that.
"Halp us Jon Karry."
Milbank once wrote an entire column on the topic of Eric Cantor's upper lip: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/eric-cantors-slick-upper-lip/2011/07/12/gIQAYqURBI_story.html
Who cares if he can spell "lose"? He can spell "winning".
Twitter is particularly prone to errant spelling, in the few examples I've seen.
Ann, it is rare that one reads a blog post on any blog, even one dedicated to humor, and guffaws. You caught me by surprise - I collapsed into a fit of laughter. Good job, and it's so funny because it's so true.
No one has to like Trump - but not to take him seriously is, at this point, not very intelligent. Every once in a while I encounter someone who is exceedingly intelligent and not very verbal, or exceedingly intelligent and somewhat dyslexic, and therefore superficially easy to discount. In Trump's case, it is probably somewhat strategic. The more he can get pundits to worry about his spelling, the more likely he is to achieve his goals.
Trump is good at dealing with the public, and he's good at getting his way. The very important point underlying your observations for those who feel that he must be opposed is that effective opposition will require dealing with the actual opponent, not the one that's a figment of a distraught imagination.
Thanks, MaxedOut.
There's a lot of raw material for comedy these days, and too many of the potential comedians are stalled by stay-on-message outrage. I see an opportunity.
Donald Trump is the president of the United States. I seriously doubt he gives a damn about what Dana Milbank thinks. I don't.
Ann, if President Obama communicated like Trump does your Althouse Hillbillies would have constantly screamed "EBONICS!"
And you would have let them. In fact, you would have encouraged them.
Yeah, and he only Twitters whene he is needs to correct the so dishonest media. Or, point out how unfair the high end retail loser store has been to his baby girl, I'd date her, curvy blonde, defacto chief of staff.
Didn't that smart ass Milbank hear about Trump normalizing Vlad the Putin? Little Dishonest Lyin Dana better get inline. What kinda name is Dana for a man anywae? Trump might havta get rid of that Spicer pussy after Melissa McCarthy gitsdone with him!
Common Mans Rules!

Gold.
As so much else, Krauthammer also gets this wrong. Gentry Democrats take corruption for granted, but are really afraid of being thought stupid. Republicans are the other way around.
But Milbank tries to make hay with stupid because that is the worst he can think of to call them.
This reminds me of all of the spelling and grammar errors you see on the signs whenever teachers march.
Typos occur because they are legitimate Tweets, Obama's came from his Press office. Focus-group polished Agitprop.
Like Milbank, "Once written, twice . . ." has exhibited over the top hatred for Trump and has consistently been mistaken about Trump's prospects for winning.
Milbank's SS codename is "shit-gibbon."
This is an old standard of classic comedy: the clever ruffian who makes fools of the hifalutin and refined, the vulgar prankster who runs circles around his Betters.
Wiki--Revealed through the second Wikileaks release on the DNC, Dana Milbank appears to have asked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to do the majority of the research for a negative column he wrote about Donald Trump in April 2016.
Why is he still employed?
Ann, if President Obama communicated like Trump does your Althouse Hillbillies would have constantly screamed "EBONICS!"
And you would have let them. In fact, you would have encouraged them.
That's an interesting hypothetical. The truth is, people did mock Obama when said things that showed how ignorant he was, whether that was his ignorance of what car insurance covers, or "corpseman" or "profit-earnings ratios" or speaking "Austrian". And that mockery mattered as much to you as these criticisms of Trump do to his supporters.
We never really got a chance to get into Obama's great mockability. His orotund self offered great comedic possibilities which went untapped. Because that's not who we are. He did not have to go all Algonquin J. Calhoun to be ridiculous.
I do the same as Belmont Club (Richard Fernandez) re its/it's.
We are both Pinoys, still, though he went to Harvard.
Something about learning your English there
My wife complains when I say "Close that light!" , another Philippinism.
Milbank's not trying to convince Trumpers or anyone not already in Blue State. Remember we are two Americas, each playing to their own tribe. That'd be like wondering why Milo Yannopolous doesn't try more to reach out to moderates or liberals. That's never been the point.
Mocking Trump's spelling errors is to add glee to Blue State that already hates him and thinks he's an idiot, and likes to marvel at what a disaster he is. Red State reads it and scratches their head--don't they get that this is just Twitter, typed in speed, and such nitpickery is pretty unfair for the same group that didn't exult over Obama's flubs and errors? But it is not for Red State.
Meanwhile, the Obama uncritical worship continues.
WashingtonPost has an article touting Obama's athleticism which he again demonstrated while kite boarding with Branson.
The fact that the video shows Obama falling on his face repeatedly—nevermind.
Dana Milbank is like a political gnat, buzzing about, not doing much, just an irritant. He's unworthy of even one of Trump's famous tweets in response. I say ignore him.
But, I would gently suggest to Trump's political advisers that they try to reign in Trump's tweets, just a tad. They are a wonderfully, effective weapon, not to be squandered.
House Democrats will gather this week in Baltimore to plan their strategy in the upcoming session of Congress – the first in ten years in which Democrats control none of the levers of Washington power. They chose “Fighting for All Americans” as their theme for this year’s conference . . .
http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Columns/2017/02/09/Dems-Call-Their-Party-s-Autopsy-Won-t-Admit-Patient-Dead
Who, exactly, are the Dems fighting on behalf of all Americans? Immigrants? Foreigners living abroad?
Althouse Hillbillies
I guess this is supposed to be an insult, but I come from a family of hillbillies (parents moved to the bottom lands before I was born,) and I am proud of it.
Hillbilly bonafides:
Grandmother lived on a mountain in TN with no indoor plumbing. Actual outhouse filled with flies and giant spiders, of course, and water was obtained from a pump on a well just outside the kitchen door. Later, pipe was laid to move the pump into the kitchen. She refused to move until the 70s when one of her sons put a trailer home on his property for her to live in. Was fiercely independent until her death. Oh, and unlike Elizabeth Warren, she actually was part Cherokee.
Father showed me and my brother actual shack he grew up in.
Best hillbilly movie ever, Sgt York of course.
Which I recommended to my Assistant Pastor when we were discussing Just War Theory vs Christian Pacifism.
I totally agree with Bay Area Guy, on both the topic of Milbank and Trump's overdoing his tweets.
Not all poor white people are Hillbillies.
Fact, not all rich white people are not Hillbillies. Proof: Donald Trump.
Trump is the Hillbilly King.
The supercilious leftists are exemplified by one written..
The less successful in life, the more contempt for those who lack polish and spelling precision.
They have no idea how amusing they are to those of us who value accomplishment, not credentialism.
Now, Trump is a bit of a braggart and blowhard but he is showing that Dizzy Dean was right when he said, "It ain't braggin' if you can do it!"

Hillbilly bonafides:
My grandfather was the son of a Georgia sharecropper. When he was young his family lived in a cave. He was one of thirteen children that included two sets of twins. Ten of the children survived infancy. Grandfather's mother was native American. He was named after a famous outlaw.
On the other side of the family, my great grandmother lived in a tiny house in Missouri. She had two pictures on the wall: Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Hank Williams.
"I never had any large respect for good spelling. That is my feeling yet. Before the spelling-book came with its arbitrary forms, men unconsciously revealed shades of their characters and also added enlightening shades of expression to what they wrote by their spelling, and so it is possible that the spelling-book has been a doubtful benevolence to us." -- Mark Twain
he had two pictures on the wall: Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Hank Williams.
Hank Williams is awesome. His boyhood home in Alabama has been preserved and is a museum.
Trump is the Hillbilly King.
And the god-emperor.
It's not that Trump is a genius, it's that those who voted for him are that dumb.
I have to watch what the iPhone does like a hawk. It's put some crazy things in while guessing what I meant. The most fun comes when dictating. Sometimes it's so funny that I have to go ahead and send it for a laugh.
Also, tweets are a conversational mode, not a written mode. Conversation rarely matches up perfectly with grammar. Speeches are not conversation.
Some "so-called" intelligent people are even dumb when it comes to Trump.
Dan Milbank is doing what Jeff Bezos pays him to do. Using the money Jeff gets from Amazon, 'cause Dana's schtick doesn't sell a whole lot of advertising these days.
She sounds like a jealous loser. Do you know what losers do? They spend excessive amounts of time pouring over irrelevant details, like spelling errors in tweets, while constantly missing the big picture. That's why it's called an error, not an intent. Trump keeps winning, despite spelling errors in tweets.
"Blogger WillRobinson said...

We seem to have picked up another leftist troll.
Welcome ! How is the pay ? Does it meet minimum wage ?
"WaPo's Dana Milbank is mocking Trump for all the stupid spelling errors in his tweets."
Well, Trump didn't have the privilege of going to joornalism school, Dana.
Trump's parents did pay for him to go to an Ivy League school.
Condescension seems to be a progressive character trait strongly correlated with a narcissistic faith.
I guess Ann is not a believer in Occam's razor.
If her hypothesis is true, that is some Machiavellian shit! Trump is deliberately misspelling words in tweets so that the media will criticize him for it, thereby making the press look . . .what exactly? The whole scheme doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
"The whole scheme doesn't make a whole lot of sense."
Nor does the left.
Welcome ! How is the pay ? Does it meet minimum wage ?
I really wish you could put me in touch with Soros so I can get me some of this blogging and protest money.
"Trump's parents did pay for him to go to an Ivy League school."
Is that a fact or an assumption?
"Trump is deliberately misspelling words in tweets so that the media will criticize him for it, thereby making the press look . . .what exactly? "
Snobbish, prissy, condescending to the volk. And hostile to the volk.
Fredo,
thereby making the press look . . .what exactly?
Petty is the word you're looking for.
"But to make fun of millionaire born and Ivy League educated Trump, then of course you are just being an elitist."
A man that manages to communicate with the volk is emotionally part of their tribe. Its called the "common touch" and a talented aristocrat can learn and use it. Trump has.
Pounding him for elitism is not likely to work, because he has made that sale and reinforces it constantly.
This is a universal rule. Consider for instance Duterte. He is from a wealthy old political family. But he long since has packaged himself as a man of the people, and opposed to the upper-class, high bourgeois milieu that intimidate the common man. Hence his popularity.
Here's the deal. Twitter is a f'n pager system. Remember pagers?
You don't use real language on it. Real language doesn't fit. Comprendo?
One of the funniest (I sh't you not) was Carrie Fisher who used emoji for everything.
It took more than 30 seconds to read her tweets because your brain was on fire with all the f'n colors.
Once written,
Also note, no one denied that they would of course scream "Ebonics" if President Obama communicated like Trump. But to make fun of millionaire born and Ivy League educated Trump, then of course you are just being an elitist.
Racism is alive and well on the Althouse Hillbilly Blog.
Well, when you got banned from this blog and then came back a few days later, I asked you if Meade had made you suck his cock and swallow his come in order to be forgiven.
You didn't deny it, so by this standard you are admitting it.
So, how did it taste? Does he eat healthy?

It's not too often that one encounters this much lack of self-awareness in so few words.
"Loosed?"
Should that have been lost?

Try to keep up. We know they come in all colors, but in what flavors was the question to you.
LOL! Ann deletes my comment but not Bad Lieutenant's above.
And that is why this is a right wing Hillbilly blog.
And that is why this is a right wing Hillbilly blog.
That must be how it looks to the Master Race.

I sort of would like to see a hillbilly blog, right wing or otherwise.

I'm always amazed at the hypocrisy of the left as evidenced by Once written. I suspect there more than a few "hillbillies" in his background.
Once written:
That's just fine and dandy in the twisted Althouse universe.
Blabbity blah...that is not a denial, so you are a racist. QED.
Do you pick your nose?
Do you pull the tags off the mattress?
Do you double-dip?
Do you scratch your butt and then lick your fingers?
I'm not hearing a denial so you must do all those things. Eeeew!
See how this works?
Are you getting it yet?
Signs point to no.
It's one thing to add to the debate, quite another to come in and shit on our hostess' rug.
Trump does a combination of Don Rickles and Rodney Dangerfield. Somehow I don't think Milbank and his ilk get the joke.
In Texas, we ain't got too many hills and hollers. We mostly got white trash and rednecks. A subset of them white trash folks are oil-field trash. But really the oil field trash are more like rednecks cause they akchilly go to work ever day. I think you gotta have hills and outhouses to have hillbillies.
