"Third-party report finds that the Dog’s Purpose video was intentionally misleading..."

"The report falls in line with claims from numerous people involved in the movie’s production who have seen the full footage of the day’s events."

The video was originally discussed on this blog here: "Expensive dog movie — 'A Dog's Purpose' — struggles for its life in the roiling waters of public opinion after a video leaked out of one of the stunt dogs resisting pressure to serve his purpose of playing the role of a dog willingly leaping into roiling waters to save a human life."

PETA lied??? This is my shocked face.

Note to America: lefties lie. The do so maliciously. They do so reflexively, just to stay in practice.

Sounds like time for a big lawsuit against TMZ.

PETA got sued for suborning perjury by Ringling Bros. Circus.

Just saw the movie this afternoon. There was a big crowd including many families and lots of people applauded at the end of the movie. Two thumbs up! Don't forget a to bring a hanky.

My mother took me to see "Old Yeller" at the Fabulous Fox in downtown Atlanta. I didn't know a six year old boy could cry so hard. Good thing the puppy arrived at the ending.

That and the Krystal burgers on the way home made it a pretty great day.

Out here in Virginia PETA became locally famous for dognapping a family's pet Chihuahua right off the family's porch and euthanizing it. They sent the grieving family a fruit basket by way of apology.

@eddie willers - I also saw Old Yeller at the Fox. I didn't cry, though. Didn't go to Krystal afterwards, I think we went to the Varsity.

A dog once saved a baby. It was framed as Pro-Life.

After reading the book 6+ years ago, no way was I not going to see the movie. The water scene was totally believable! BTW, the TMZ story was totally debunked here when our hostess first linked to it.
Spoiler alert! While the film was pretty much inline with the book, they totally Disneyfied the ending, thus removing the Dog's "True" Purpose!

I'm always a bit suspicious about groups that claim such-and-such horrible thing is epidemic, and yet have to invent examples of said thing happening. And yes, I'm talking to you. You know who you are.

Fake News Hit Job.

Other than a very few sources, I assume that everything falls into this category until I see reasonably convincing evidence to the contrary. My transformation from skeptic to cynic is nearly complete.

I liked the book and the movie, although the bookending was cut from the film and a bit of a let down, but as I wrote last week on this blog,m PETA is wrong about this film-- they did an edit job which the producer of the film responded to in length and detail.

Comanche Voter म्हणाले...

I saw the movie; it was a pretty good film. Don't know if I would take my young grandchildren to it. There are some things that are shown that would be pretty intense for a young one. And of course as some misanthrope noted, only a sadist would make a movie that involves the deaths of four or five dogs. I mean a dog can't get reincarnated if it doesn't die first!

But go buy a ticket for the movie; it's a two-fer--you get your money's worth in the film--and you get a chance to ignore PETA. They are a bunch of miserable scolds in any case.

I saw the movie. It was sentimental, but adequately entertaining. The movie would have been far more effective if the dog's narration had been entirely removed.

That's nice.

Hey let's hold the fourth party report meeting in Punxatauney, you know, where Phil is at. They might be feeling a little let down this time of year, and they are damn good folks from what I hear.

Ballsy too - a neighbor's cattle dog ran out to the street we were walking down and chomped my dog's nose. The cattle dog got beat-up a bit and now he minds his own business.
