It is a logo I thought was somewhat amateurish, but now think is intentionally hilarious. And honestly, I kind of expect that playfulness is what Trump was going for -- it's a ready-made meme.
It looks like someone wants to make sure Pence is trumped.

Indeed, I always liked Quayle and he was a bigger rising star in Indiana than Mike Pence ever was. Quayle never did one wrong thing, and if there had been a conservative media back in those days I think Quayle's public life would have had a better outcome.

The letters look very much like a University logo. Pretty bland. The TP connotation obviously doesn't help.
However, I'm wondering about the mockery of logos, particularly in a presidential campaign. It seems like all except Obama abandoned the logo once the need for such was gone.

Honestly it's good bait to catch dishonest reporters and anger more Trump voters. Plus it gives Trump an excuse to be charmingly crass if he ever gets into trouble in an interview.
