It's Scott's hyperbole, of course, but cringe-worthy and bad humor. Tonette never even said it — he made it up. She is goodness incarnate. He'll do the right thing and properly apologize to her. But he really won't in fact run for a fourth term nor should he.
"The question for Althouse is: whose hyperbole do you believe this to be?"
So... I'm asked to imagine how Scott and Tonette talk to each other when they are alone? I'd have to be paid to write that screenplay. Do a Kickstarter for me. I will write a play called "The Private Conversations of Scott and Tonette" if I am paid half a million dollars.
Fourth term? Doesn't he mean third term? He was elected in 2010, re-elected in 2014. The recall election that he survived doesn't create an extra term.
No politician should ever serve more than two terms in an executive position. If you can't get it done in two you can't get it done. Look at how many successful two-term executives became failures in the third term. In the US Ed Koch and Mario Cuomo come right to mind (I'm a New Yorker). In the UK there was Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair. Rudy Guiliani's reputation as NYC mayor was preserved by term limits, while Bloomberg really wore out his welcome in the third term. So don't do it Scott.

Don't even go there Laslo ! We all know what you are thinking!
As a long-married man who has asked my wife any number of times to just knife me in my sleep rather than divorce me, I understand Mr. & Mrs. Walker's family dynamic. Good for Mrs. Walker for keeping the lines of communication wide open with her spouse. Here's hoping he listens; President Cruz could use ex-Gov. Walker in any of a number of Cabinet positions.
When you Wisconsin residents are through with Walker please send him east. We Virginians will need someone to clean up the mess Terry McAuliffe is leaving behind.
Walker was my favorite for the GOP presidential nomination this year, but this was not his year. He's strong but quiet, and we needed LOUD! After two Rubio [or Cruz] terms (which I expect to be successful but tumultuous), it would be time for a quiet man to sweep up the broken glass and broken furniture and get the saloon back into normal operation. If Scott's available, he'd be my candidate again (with Tonette's approval, or course).
I just read an interesting tidbit of an interesting person who married a woman 7 years his senior.
Can't remember who.
7 years.
Senior.
This guy then remarried and had a bunch of kids.
Was it related to Hyrnomous Bosch?
Or OMG Hitler?
I just read up on hitler because someone, here most likely referenced JFK and hitler's father's or grandfather's name before hitler, and it was something I had never heard. Shumcklesbuurk or the like, ya know.
7 years his senior, she dies, he gets some cash and vamoose.
Churchill had a plan "since the 1920's" and before even, too.
Maybe that's why he helped win, with destruction wakeful not by choice, but by force applied toward his conscious, soul, body, family, friends, country, and Western Way of Life.
"How Hitler fits into German history and the broader causality of the Holocaust 1933 postcard: Hitler's Mt. Rushmore
Hitler saw himself as continuing a long tradition of great German leaders, as the image at right shows. It was on a souvenir postcard distributed at the September 1933 Nazi Party congress in Nuremberg. It shows, Mt. Rushmore-style, Frederick the Great (1712-1786), Bismarck (1815-1898), Hindenburg (1847–1934), and Hitler (1889-1945). The caption reads: "What the king conquered, the prince shaped and the field marshal defended, was rescued and united by the soldier."
intentionalism: Hitler had a plan since the early 1920s functionalism: The opportunism of Hitler's inner circle ("working towards the Führer") was key structuralism: The nature of the power structure (bureaucracy vs. Nazi Party) was key
We will return to these questions multiple times over the course of the quarter."
Curious George speaks with all the authority of a sexless man who has never known a woman who discussed anything sexual with him over the phone or sent him a flattering, revealing picture of herself.
Carlos screwed up by sending the penile pic (something you never want to do) but seriously, people of the social media generation (i.e. those still young enough to know a sexual potency that C. George very well may lack) don't find this to be that big a deal any more. They had Grindr (no autocorrect performed there - should tell you something) and Tinder has basically replaced not only conventional "dating" forums, but even most of the earlier online dating platforms.
Swipe right, swipe left. Either way, it seems you went straight from the children's books into old age. Adolescence and the two decades that followed must have been a very tedious ordeal for you.
R&B: "What makes your insertion non-relevant is that no one cared about what Clinton did."
No one cared about something that actually happened but R&B cares very much about something that did not happen, so the not real becomes real and vice versa.
Fixed that reality f***-up for you, which you will realize once you come down from what you happen to be "on".

When does his third term end ? About time for a 2018 run ? I would think he has gone to school on this campaign.

garage just got a hard-on.
What else would, or could, he do? Unless a wingnuts welfare or takes him on he couldn't last a day in the real world.

Hell no, Althouse don't do no self-funding to write other people's screen plays. Not worth it!
Garage,
Maybe you could give Gov. Walker tips on being successful in the real world.
However, I don't think he aspires to be an internet troll.

Don't want anybody stepping on your turf, Fran?

Read garages mind. Walker resides there 24x7.

Michael, his second term ends in 2018. Fourth term election is Nov 2021.
I ran, without success, for local public office twice. My wife then informed me if I again filed papers for a election she would "file papers".
That firm promise ended my political ambitions.
Don't want anybody stepping on your turf, Fran?
Aren't you one for witty repartee? This is almost as clever as, "I know you are, but what am I?".
His wife sounds like a very violent woman.

I was promised there would be no math.
I was thinking about another shot at the presidency and how that would fit. Obviously 2020 will the next national election.
Senate from Wisconsin ?
AA
Colloborate on that screenplay with Meade and Laslo.
Mega hit. Talking Oscars.
Meryl as Tonette. George Clooney as Scott. You could play yourself.
Michael K, the next Senate race (vs Baldwin) is in 2018 when Walker would be running for 3rd term Gov.
Feingold/Johnson is this year and then 2022.
Walker is unlikely to run for Senate.

I wonder. If he has national ambition, that would be his chance,
Republicans are such charming people.
And by "charming", I mean completely creepy.
Their sex lives are even more bizarre.

As Gwen said, a likely story.

So now we, us the informed, have a documented history of unintended intentionalism, most ismly indeed if I may say so.
I told you wonders never cease.
R&B's: "Republicans are such charming people.

Dems. Vaginas. Cigars.
You know, non-creepy sex stuff.

Maybe Walker could sell magazines door to door like garage.

Everything's relative when the comparison's to threats of marital homicide, Homey.
R&B: "Everything's relative when the comparison's to threats of marital homicide, Homey."
What makes the "comparison" quite non-relative is one of these incidents actually happened and the other is a figure of speech.
As a lefty, I realize it's difficult for you to distinguish between the two.
maybe he was thinking about a 4th election - since he's already had 3

Anthony. Weiner. AKA Carlos Danger.
So the hyperbole tag deserves its own bull shit tag?
Fair enough, Althouse.
Scott Walker would be a good Ed Grimley. He even looks like him.
Clean water and unions are so mental!
Democrats. Child Porn. Exposing Critical Top Secret Information to Enemies.

Clean water and Democratic municipal governments are so leaden and Flinty.

What makes your insertion non-relevant is that no one cared about what Clinton did.
Since you're a righty (fixed that grammatical fuck-up for you), I realize it's difficult for you to pick up on that.
Tonette never even said it — he made it up.
Makes sense - Walker has a history of making up comments like that.

Maybe it was due to all that sniper fire Walker had to dodge in Bosnia. I mean, that sort of thing would really stick with you.
Can you imagine having to dodge sniper fire in a far away land with a cigar up your gal-type orifice?
It's a good thing Bill was nowhere near Hillary then.
I mean, Bill and Hill are so much in love and nothing says "non-creepy love" than shoving things up your main squeezes "thoroughfare of love".
Perhaps Tonette has called out Scott on his affinity for soap-opera men.
Of which there are so very many.
