"... despite reports indicating her hesitation is part of what's keeping Biden from jumping into the race. And that looks more likely by the day...."
Okay, then. He's running. Let's get on with it. The first debate is October 13th. Biden already qualifies for participation. (The standard is that you need "at least 1% in three national polls in the six weeks before the debate," and Biden has that.)

I promise I'll vote for Joe Biden if his wife promises she'll keep a low profile.
How dare NBC refer to her as Jill Biden? She's Dr. Jill Biden, as we've all been instructed numerous times. That's doctor of education, peasants!
Another Dem wife enabling her husband's groping.
Biden is Obama's life insurance policy. A man so indisputably dumb no one would dare kill Obama and make him president. So the problem for the Democrats is if the man too stupid to be president becomes the nominee for president, who will be Biden's Biden?
She's good looking. Has anyone ever described her as a trophy wife?
I don't think Obama has given him the go ahead yet.
And it may not be forthcoming.
Run Joe!
Jill Biden just made Hillary's enemy list. War on Women!
The big issue is will Joe after Hillary on her dishonesty, corruption and bribe taking? He will IF he wants to WIN.
I looked up Jill Biden on Wiki. She's a generation younger than Joe, has blonde hair, and did some modeling when she was younger. This fits the classic profile of a trophy wife. Do we really want a crass trophy wife hunter like Trump or Biden in the White House?
Of course he is running. Ever since he leaked to Maureen Dowd the alleged deathbed request from his son that he run, that has been clear.
Timing is another issue. He has until November. He likely will milk the drama for all it is worth.
I think Joe will get in before the Oct 13th debate. It will clearly be the most watched Dem debate, as the next two are on Saturdays (Nov 14 and Dec 19th) when fewer people watch TV. This democrat debate schedule is clearly set up to hide Hillary and not give the other candidates any traction to challenge her. I mean, having a debate a week before Christmas on a Saturday?
Do you invite Bernie Sanders to a Democratic debate?
Does Joe display the same snark and disdain he had in his last debate in his next debate?
Joe was a disgrace in the VP debate with Paul Ryan. Somehow I doubt the media will be so friendly to him if Hillary is the recipient of his mocking horseface antics.
As a Republican who is terrified of another four years of an Obama Administration, I like the idea of Biden running. The Clintons will hurt him before they give up. And then we'll see Joe Biden the candidate who has run twice for president and never once finished in the money.
Still, I see a Biden-Booker ticket (or something like that) being a much more potent black-voter turnout machine than any Clinton ticket. And that is a bit disconcerting.
There is a God.
Biden I think would be a stronger candidate for the Dems than Hillary. But if the GOP is determined to blow this one (and they sure seem to be, as they start alienating every group they need to make inroads with) I'd rather deal with four years of Biden than four years of Hillary.
Like Rob said, it's Dr. Biden. EDD's are very particular about that. As opposed, to say, PHD's. Ipso, Joe is very differential to her. Except of course when it involves personal defense firearms, where Joe knoews that shotguns are best - especially when fired indiscriminately into the air to scare off home invaders.
Have there been any examples of a vice president serving successfully as president since 1900?
Coolidge and prehap T Roosevelt might be exceptions. None of the other VP's who made it to the oval office can be viewed as successful presidents. None were able to get re-elected to a second full term. Nixon is the exception but he might have been better off losing given the ignominy of resignation.
We have another half dozen or so VPs and former VPs who have tried and failed to get elected. The only way VPs get into the oval is if the prez dies or, in the case of Nixon, resigns.
Bush is the only exception.
So can someone tell me why it is a good idea for a VP to run for Prez?

They have to be. It is a chickenshit degree. All Education degrees are but the EdD especially. Significantly less coursework required than a PhD in other disciplines, even social sciences. Much less rigorous dissertation requirements as well.
I have masters in Education and it required even less work than my AS degree in Scuba Diving. I looked into an EdD because I wanted the title and found it far easier to get than any other. Still cost a lot of money, I would have had to sit through a number of classes and even a bullshit dissertation is still a lot of work. I didn't want the Dr title that badly. I was looking for a diploma mill. While ed schools come close, they are a half-step above actual diploma mills.
Bill Cosby is another famous EdD, isn't he?

Oh Dear God, no. We already have too much noise.
"Joe Biden" Americas funny uncle.
Biden, much like Hillary, is a candidate preferred more, the less one sees or hears of him.
Biden got destroyed in his VP debate with Sarah Palin. What chance does he have against Hillary?
