Donald Trump...

Her stuff is funny. The circus peanut is funny. Kind of like the picture you had that showed him as an oompa loompa.

He certainly has the proper enemies.

Swifty Quick বলেছেন...

He certainly has the proper enemies

All of whom are, as here, afraid to verbally joust with him. And if they aren't, they should be.

Go Trump.

pm317 বলেছেন...

It does not look anything like Trump.

Wilbur বলেছেন...

pm, that was my reaction too. That's supposed to look like Trump?

I wasted the last 5 minutes of my life reading 2/3 of the article. She uses food, with no indication of any real wit or intelligence, in her quest to be a SJW.

Whatever.

Intelligentsia — "It’s a very nice place with kind-of annoying people and great drinks"

A better definition I could not imagine.

traditionalguy বলেছেন...

A circus peanut?? Is that all the oppo researchers have come up with so far today?

The game played by Trump has been catching the false headlines from half sentence stories and the false News Readers opinions on them and pointing out the silly attacks. So the latest diss on Trump is that "Trump is too thin skinned."

But so far Trump has ridiculed the Ridicule Industry faster than it can come up with new material. So the latest diss on Trump is that he is not "Presidential."

Trump should tell them to watch the old Dean Martin Roasts until they get up to speed om him.

My first reaction also was that it didn't look at all like the Trumpster. Like seeing the virgin Mary in a tree stump. Look hard, use your imagination, and you still can't see it.

Trump's playing the media like a fiddle - his greatest attribute. They don't know how to deal with him.

His best performance was his treatment of Telemundo reporter Jose Diaz Balart, telling him he's finished. No politician on the planet would dare say that to an Hispanic, let alone an Hispanic reporter. Trump says it with vigor and then doubles down.

Trump must have a chuck-a-luck wheel of sacred media cows he spins every morning.

ddh বলেছেন...

Will he suffer the same fate as Chuckles the Clown?

Now that's a good-looking penis.

Danno বলেছেন...

I didn't think it looked like Trump. Now maybe if you put a Brillo Pad on top to represent his hair, it might be closer.

Humperdink বলেছেন...

The beat goes on:

"Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has denied The Des Moines Register press credentials to gain access to a candidate event scheduled for Saturday in Oskaloosa.

The reason: an editorial published by the newspaper last Tuesday calling on Trump to quit the Republican race.

Register political columnist Kathie Obradovich was informed Friday that she had been denied a credential to the event, a “family picnic” featuring Trump that will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the George Daily Community Auditorium in Oskaloosa." (via Gateway Pundit)

Cotton candy maybe? Especially with a stiff wind.

We can survive a country wherein one party, the Democrat party, ignores, controls, and intimidates, the media. Republicans should do the same thing, not because we can survive as a nation if both parties do it, but because we need the media to grow a spine and tell both parties to stop.

Unfortunately for us, they've become so entrenched in politics, I don't think they can. Journalism today is a lecture on how to be biased while maintaining the facade of neutrality.

Will Republicans playing the same game cure our media culture, or fully co-opt it?

Remains to be seen.

The sculptor almost got the colors right. The best medium for the subject: Peeps, yellow. (They'd be easy to mold too)

Bob Ellison বলেছেন...

He attracts what Limbaugh would call the low-information-voter wing of the GOP. That is probably worth a few points, but not enough for the nomination or election. If he runs as a third-party candidate, he might suck as many voters away from the Democrats as from the GOP.

Well... he's not.

Not in his demeanor, and not in his resume.

But he is entertaining. And the serious GOP candidates should be taking notes.

etbass বলেছেন...

Agree with Tradguy. Why can't Republicans figure out why Trump is so popular? It is not his message, it is that he speaks his mind and people do not think he is putting on an act. Speak honestly and fearlessly and you will do better with most Americans.

Zeb: "All of whom are, as here, afraid to verbally joust with him. And if they aren't, they should be."

If that is true, and I doubt it, it is only because he is a loose cannon who will say anything that pops into his mouth without regard to its truth or falsity. It's like debating a lefty, frustrating and unproductive.

They have, but they are all on TV or the radio. They aren't politicians trying to win elections. They can't win general elections with Trump's message/manner.

Jimmy বলেছেন...

He speaks his mind. He isn't a pussy when it comes to calling out the media, the Democrats or anyone else.
As others have already said, the Republicans should be taking notice. And its not low info voters. People are angry, frustrated and incredulous that the current Repub 'leadership' are so happy to bend over on command.
He won't be president. But he is more qualified than the current one, or any of the Dem contenders.

Why do you assume Trump can't win? Obama won on even less. I'm not saying Trump will be the nominee never mind the winner but right now the only candidates that are jazzing up people are Trump and Sanders. Both are tapping into the public angst from both sides of the spectrum. Trump is arguing that country doesn't have a shortage of domestic poor people and domestic criminals and thus the need to import them. Sander's argument is the classic the top X percent isn't paying their fair share of your entitlements.

Bruce Hayden বলেছেন...

Trump doesn't just attract the low information voters - he also attracts some of the anti-establishment types. He is taking the fight to the enemy, and the establishment wing, the go along to get along wing, are a bit scared right now. Their guy (mostly JEB) doesn't really excite anyone. But, we have tried somewhat establishment types in the last two elections, and they haven't worked out well.

richard mcenroe বলেছেন...

Waste of a good peanut on a Hillary false flag.

Hagar বলেছেন...

Trump does not act presidential?
Neither do the rest of them.
In either party.

I don't think you can say "he speaks his mind" unless you assume his mind changes every 15 minutes. Maybe it is that he "speaks his mind" on all four sides of any issue - and loudly.
Maybe it is just that he speaks at all, while the rest of them act and sound like the adults in a Peanuts special.

Valentine Smith বলেছেন...

That ain't Trump, that's Ed Asner.

traditionalguy বলেছেন...

The real question is how to react to Trump's offer to do good for a helpless community that is suddenly awakening to being under constant attack from dangerous enemies hiding in a smokescreen beat of propaganda that creats a subtle fantasy reality skillfully delivered by well trained media liars.

I believe that his offer is real. His heart seems to be a traditional Calvinist/Puritan product that wants to wake up and save the community. His work ethic is standard Protestant coming from a background of The Great Awakening theology of Jonathan Edwards in 1730s Massachusetts.

And his practical political battlefield intelligence is the best one that I have witnessed since JFK.

Mark O বলেছেন...

A parliament of consultants is out on Twitter spewing vituperation on Trump and touting the GOP presidential slate as "the best ever." [How much must one be paid to call this collection of utility infielders "best?"] This crew, which has maybe 3 who could win a general election, cannot even beat Trump on the issues he's raising.

So weak are they that they offer only slander, such as Dr. K. calling him a "rodeo clown" a term which is actually heroic. They refuse to engage with him on immigration. McCain [who you may know was once a prisoner of war and endured it heroically before he surrendered to Obama in the middle of the 2008 campaign] called Trumps supporters "crazies" and justified it by invoking his own delusions about his popularity: "I'm called crazy by the people that come there. I thought it was a term of endearment."

If you can't confront Trump and appropriate his popularity, you can't possibly overcome the Democrat machine, whoever emerges as the candidate.

So, Trump has added the vegetarian, vegan vote?

traditionalguy:

Trump does appear to be a viable candidate with an American orientation. A welcome departure from the status quo.

Mark O:

The "rodeo clown" has an important responsibility to save the People from being gored by the bull-ies.

"Crazies" like a fox. I never did like unprincipled characterizations or class prejudice.

Yeah, McCain became a prisoner of political war. It may have been an inevitable, recurring(?) expression of Stockholm syndrome. His opponents exploited that deficit.

grackle বলেছেন...

Personally, I believe Trump would beat Hillary if he were nominated. Trump has been underestimated by the MSM, the GOP elite, the lefty ideologues and even the conservative pundits.

I do not believe Trump is susceptible to ordinary criticism. In fact, I believe it may even help to increase his standing. But the other GOP hopefuls cannot do the same as Trump. It wouldn’t work.

Trump is a populist who is also a devout capitalist – a rarity for populists.

Trump is suing Univision.

It was very unfortunate for Trump’s detractors that Trump chose to highlight illegal immigrant crime as an issue just before an innocent young woman was gunned down while strolling along the San Francisco dock by an illegal immigrant felon who was granted sanctuary several times by the city of San Francisco.

A possible hurdle for Trump:

The upcoming Fox-sponsored debate. His opponents should insist that he be specific about what he intends to do if elected. Trump may be able to be tripped up for lack of details.

On third party possibilities:

Trump and Priebus had a phone call conference where they must have discussed certain items regarding Trump’s campaign. Afterwards, Priebus issued a statement:

Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Reince Priebus on Friday said he does not think Donald Trump will run as a third-party candidate should the billionaire business mogul lose the GOP nomination.

The RNC needs to be careful how they treat Trump. The RNC runs the risk of losing a large amount of voters if Trump supporters perceive that the RNC is unfair to Trump. But I think Priebus is smart enough to realize this. His best bet is to wait patiently for Trump’s popularity to fade - if it ever does.

richard mcenroe বলেছেন...

Reince Priebus still hasn't twigged that Trump is just a splitter for Hillary...

Nonapod বলেছেন...

Trump may well be the best thing that's happened to Hillary. If he doesn't end up being the GOP nominee he'll most likely pull a Ross Perot and run as an Independent and that'll ensure Hillary will win the presidency. I really don't envision a scenario where many Dems would vote for him so he'd just suck votes away from whomever ends up being the Republican nominee.

I think it's far more important that Hillary not become our next President than I get who I might personally like to be the nominee, but unfortunately I doubt many people on the right see it that way.

I am Laslo.

So we will be the Clint Black to Van Halen of our cover band, attempting Pantherness of Steel.

The hitch is, Laslo is my bass player and I am Lead Songwriter and Lead Singer.

Althouse gets 4% again.

rcocean বলেছেন...

The power elite hates Trump for even bringing up the issue of illegal aliens. So, we're now getting no stop slander, guilt by association, ridicule, and everything else.

Sadly, for the attack dogs, Trump isn't your typical Republican. He's doesn't have to kiss the ass of some RINO donor, he's used to dealing with personal attacks, he knows how to use the media, and being a 70 y/o Billionaire he doesn't give a shit.

Its like Perot all over again. Look for the Republicans to fuck up just like they did i '92 and '96 and get a Clinton elected.

Guildofcannonballs বলেছেন...

Well lad Steve Bartin at nalert.blogspot.com has been hating on Buckley for a while now.

Mark O বলেছেন...

Does anyone here think McCain is anything like Audie Murphy?

Paul বলেছেন...

Trump has not been vetted. Unlike most of the others he has never held even a public office. He never served in the military either. Rich kid who became richer is his claim to fame.

For all we know he may have a zillion skeletons in his closest(s), and I suspect he does.

No, we don't need a right wing version of Obama.

Paul বলেছেন...

Mark,
McCain ain't no Audie M. But he fought for his country, served honorably, and had a very tough time in Hanoi Hilton.

And that's 10x more than Trump has ever done for his country.

mikee বলেছেন...

When I see Hillary ridiculed, outrageously, rather than people just pointing out her petty vengefulness, inability to tell the truth, disturbing ability to hold multiple positions on any subject and swap those positions with different audiences, I will know Hillary is over.

Until then, she's gonna win this election. God help us all.

The ridicule I'd like to see? A watermelon carved into Hillary's likeness. Green on the outside, distasteful white showing, then solid red inside.
