"I keep wanting to use the phrase, 'I need your help' but it's important to me to be honest."

"I don't need your help at all; I simply want your money to be spent in place of my own."

I have a problem with the "winner level":

There's no apostrophe in the possessive "its." I question the purity of the promised love.

Another solicitation from Hillary?

Oops. I had the link wrong before.

You would not be paying him for love, just for going away afterwards.

Looks about as pure and honest as it gets.

Seems like it's still the wrong link. Should be on the Go F**k Me site, not the Go Fund Me.

It looks like GoFundMe has found a substitute for small bakers and pizza parlors. More in line with their ethical principles.

Mysterious mistake, halfway between a grocers' (Kroger) apostrophe and something else.

I also have a problem with the "You Get It" Level, because it's important to get how to spell "receive" correctly.

I feel the same way he does.

It's probably pretty good evidence that I'm a genuine asshole that I find the people offended by the joke funnier than the joke itself.

And I am led to believe he is a successful comedian.... who knew?

I would normally have chuckled and moved on, but I made the mistake of reading the comments.

Now the contrarian in me is inspired by all the hate to seriously consider giving this guy some real money.

I am asking, humbly, my heart in my hands, for you to contribute whatever you can to my June rent payment.

Well, I suppose if he doesn't know how to use "its" properly, then he probably doesn't know a saying from a century ago, either. Heart in his hands...oh boy.

Other than that, brilliant! Perfect use of GoFundMe.

He's exchanging sex for money. He's a whore.

JAORE: A successful comedian between gigs. Like all the actors in Hollywood who are waiting tables until their agent calls.

I love the comments.

"You mean man! How can you ask for this money when there are needy people in the world?!"

Bunch of people running around with their joke chips missing.

I don't get why people see this as a joke. It's pretty much the basis of all democracy.

No need to do all that. If Titus really needs the money he could just ask the commentariat here or at Lem's.

I thought it was clever and funny.

I also thought that was a picture of a woman. Ooops.

I'm getting married on the 23rd. It's nice to know he's available for me OR my spouse.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

I shouldn't have included the "winner's level" thing. That was not as funny as the main idea and I can see people were distracted by it.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

No one will give him the $11,000. That's just a joke. People are giving the $5.

Give $22,000 and he'll be there for BOTH of you.

The love of money is purely the root of all evil. There's your promised purity.

You are correct, but he didn't use "the possessive 'its'." He used a contraction - "it's", short for "it is". As in "but it is important for me to be honest."

Note the difference: "Its importance is such that it's very important indeed."
