Perhaps you haven't heard...

... Hillary Clinton is running for President.

Here's the video that's the announcement. There are a whole lot of people in it saying this and that about their lives, but take my word for it, Hillary Clinton shows up in the end and says something about her life... that's she's running for President:

There's some connection between "everyday Americans" and Hillary Clinton. That's the idea to be planted in your head. It's just an ad. It could just as well be a Coca-Cola ad. Good people, going about their everyday lives, and then The Product! There's no sense or reason to any of it, but why should there be?

Laslo Spatula म्हणाले...

That's the kind of advertising that made 'Pepsi Clear' a success.

I am Laslo.

Bob R म्हणाले...

Vote for me, I have a womb. Have to admit - at least the womb produced something. Chelsea may not be much, but she's better than Benghazi.

John henry म्हणाले...

Why?

I saw the video and I didn't hear anything about why she is running, why she thinks she is qualified or what she will do if she gets nominated and elected.

Yeah, she is ready. I get that. I'm ready too. Ready for the Clintons to fade away into merciful obscurity.

At some point haven't they made enough money?

At some point, haven't they bothered the American citizenry enough?

If you would say "I am ready to retire." I would be with you 100%.

John Henry

John henry म्हणाले...

Laslo,

Or Zima. I am sure you could come up with a whole great ad campaign.

Vote Hilary! The Zima of politics. Clearly there is nothing there."

John Henry

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

She does not have populist message in the whole smarmy BS spot. She must want to lose to Warren.

John henry म्हणाले...

So I go to drudge and see a pic of Hil, Bill and Chelsea.

Headline "One more shot". I wonder how many people immediately thought guns. Hey, Matt, you are gonna have the SS after you. Hilary doesn't like you enough already.

Above that Drudge points out a typo from the UK Daily Mail:

Clinton's press office left an embarrassing typo in its press announcement, saying that she had 'fought children and families all her career'

yup.

And why do we have to get our news from British newspapers more and more these days?

John Henry

Renee म्हणाले...

My democrat friends complained her issues were lacking on her website.

Greg Hlatky म्हणाले...

If we're going to have to elect a person solely because they're a woman, can we get Kate Upton instead?

Renee म्हणाले...

Doubled checked. Unless I'm missing something no issue page or position papers.

John henry म्हणाले...

Also, in the news about Hillary is that Chelsea was named after a great, great, Dave Van Ronk song (written by Joni Mitchell)

Oddly enough, the only version I can find on Youtube just now is blocked.

Thanks guys for ruining that song for me forever now. Each time I hear it I will think "Clintons"

Meade म्हणाले...

When Bill announced that he was running in 1991, he had his wife and daughter with him. Times change.

madAsHell म्हणाले...

Another democrat with zero accomplishments...but she does have a vagina, and Bill.

A primary featuring Kate, ScarJo and Mila Kunis would have a certain charm.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

Greg Hlatky wins this thread hands down!

fivewheels म्हणाले...

Sadly, Mila Kunis wasn't born here. Neither was Morena Baccarin. Dammit, aren't there any women qualified to be president?

Oh, Jessica Alba would provide some diversity.

gspencer म्हणाले...

Hillary Camp’s Says the phrase that Clinton “Fought Children & Families All Her Life” had a typo in it.

But I haven't been able to find it.

Greg Hlatky म्हणाले...

ScarJo would be discredited after revelations of torrid anal sex with a man identified only as "Laslo."

Meade म्हणाले...

It will be a first, if she wins. No one married to a former president impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice has ever been elected president.

I'm Full of Soup म्हणाले...

Hillary will do just like Bill did....hold off on picking her positions and policies until she can guage which way the wind is blowing on each.

chickelit म्हणाले...

Carly Fiorina was quick to point out a couple things.

I hope to hear more from her moving into 2016.

Sydney म्हणाले...

Oh. I was hoping her announcement would be that she isn't running.

अनामित म्हणाले...

According to the NYT, this ad is the beginning of the end of GOP.

I agree. It is brilliant. It is perfect. The logo, the website, the video link from twitter, etc.

All is perfect.

This shows having top techies from Obama 2012 & Facebook & Google on your team can do that.

The GOP looks like a dinosaur.

Plus, GOP has 4 problems:
- No women in leadership.
- No immigration plan.
- No love for American science.
- No outreach to minorities.

Q.E.D. Are you ready for Hillary as your 45POTUS?

Meade म्हणाले...

She does look like she's lost weight.

Achilles म्हणाले...

The only way she actually sticks it out and tries to move to the general is if the republicans nominate Jeb. If she has to run against Walker, Paul or Cruz she will bow out with some health issue.

She can't use the usual excuse because she wont be spending more time with that family unless they let her join in on the pedophile plane.

Bob Boyd म्हणाले...

"Since its creation in 2001, the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation has raised close to $2 billion from a vast global network that includes corporate titans, political donors, foreign governments and other wealthy interests, according to a Washington Post review of public records and newly released contribution data.

The total, representing cash and pledges reported in tax filings, includes $262 million that was raised in 2013 — the year Hillary Rodham Clinton stepped down as secretary of state and began to devote her energies to the foundation and to a likely second run for president.

And many of the foundation’s biggest donors are foreigners who are legally barred from giving to U.S. political candidates. A third of foundation donors who have given more than $1 million are foreign governments or other entities based outside the United States, and foreign donors make up more than half of those who have given more than $5 million."

Birches म्हणाले...

I really can't believe that anyone could be excited about this. She's old. Her face looks like it's been melted smooth in the video. And the logo? Why does it remind me of this Simpsons episode?

It's like they're not even trying.

BarrySanders20 म्हणाले...

A whole lotta make up and a soft focus lens.

We'll be seeing that often.

The video makes a point of featuring same-sex couples, Hispanic citizens, parents and the elderly. The elderly have a long memories. I look forward to voicing Hillary's most important statements in a familiar and comforting voice: link

Typo = "I accidentally told the truth."

I enjoy fighting children because they're often small and weak.

I note that the arrow is moving to the right.

Todd Roberson म्हणाले...

I'm thinking along the lines of Achilles on this one.

A more interesting woman in the mix is Carly Fiorina. Not interesting in her own right as she just about as unlikeable as Hillary! Her role in this whole drama is intriguing.

I figure she's decided (or someone is coordinating this) that she's the perfect person to "shadow" Hillary! If Hillary stays in (see Achilles comment above) then she's the VP nominee so she can attack Hillary constantly while the GOP POTUS nominee stays above it all.

If Hillary is out, then CF is like Rick Santorum or Mike Huckabee; I.e. They just run every four years to maintain their franshise as "perennial candidate" and thus appear on all the talking head shows on Fox.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

@Meade (9:19), you may be right but don't you think she looks tired?

Bob Boyd म्हणाले...

I note the H is a lot bigger than America.

Todd Roberson म्हणाले...

Laslo should check out Hillary's former campaign aide/intern whatever Sammy Spade. Just give her a Google. Dayam!

Seriously, I'd like to hear Laslo's perspective on Ms. Spade. W could use a little levity after suffering through that Hillary video.

rhhardin म्हणाले...

There's covariant movement.

It gives advertising a bad name.

Paul म्हणाले...

I heard her announcement.. it said she 'Fought children and families all her career'...

Yep, with Monica and pedophile Bill they sure did.

FullMoon म्हणाले...

"One more shot" references Botox, obviously .
Kind of a cheap shot by Drudge, next to that horrible picture of her.

Are you ready for Chelsea as your 46POTUS?

Are you ready for little Charlotte as your 47POTUS? (with a James Carville - Lanny Davis - Rahm Emanuel regency)

Chris N म्हणाले...

What else are you gonna do, union man?

What about you black folks in the back there? Who loves ya baby?

Ladies night! Get those vaginas in the voting booth. You go girl!

Wall Street? Global Repsponsibility, corporate citizens... Mobile economy...rising middle class...invest in the future..blah blah.

Silicon Valley... Come lay in bed here and tell mama H all about your troubles.

David Begley म्हणाले...

Hillary Clinton must be defeated.

HCMBD.

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

but don't you think she looks tired?

Too many times to the same well.

Meade म्हणाले...

I think she looks tired because she's old and has lost too much weight. She also seems unhappy and that often makes old people look tired.

chickelit म्हणाले...

The guy who mentioned "keeping his dog from eating the trash" was not a very convincing. He sounded more like a Hillary sympathizer than a supporter.

Bay Area Guy म्हणाले...

The reason Hillary doesn't raise any substantive issues or state her positions or accomplishments is because she doesn't have to. For the left, you just need to check boxes:

1. Pro-choice? Check
2. Pro gay marriage? Check
3. Against racism? Check
4. Bigger Fed Goverment? Check
5. Higher taxes? Check
6. Weaker defense? Check

That plus nearly 100% name recognition and millions of dollars and thousands of loyal staffers and, voila, there's the Dem nominee.

She woulda won in 08' - except for that stubborn vote to support the Iraq War that Obama exploited.

Dale म्हणाले...

I don't really get the purpose of the America's Politico. Are you going for laughs? Not trying to be mean, but why do you post.

I am guessing that you are trying to show the hypocrisy of the press.

But what's the point of your long essays...

Honestly trying to understand the motive. Again, not trying to be mean, just don't get the point.

I didn't think she'd actually run. She won't win.

I hope she doesn't clear the primary. As far as I'm concerned, she's a Republican, but that's not the main reason I'm not supporting her.

Bad Lieutenant म्हणाले...

That's Sammie Spades, bub. I think Marie Harf and Jen Psaki have much more to offer in that industry. But that could be a good interview question among others like this...

Dear Hillary!,

1. Did you really return everything you stole from the White House? And pay for all the broken lamps and ashtrays?

2. Did you train your interns to be whores or did you hire them for those skills? Did Bill help?

3. Do you think you can learn to return military salutes without melting?

4. Do you think coming out as gay will hurt your daughter more in the area of her feelings, or of her political viability? Or do you think it will help her?

5. Which ambassador will you allow to be murdered first?

6. Any intention of fixing US government cybersecurity, using it for your communications, or both?

7. At what point have you got (let's not abuse the word "made") enough money? If you bought a new private jet every year for the rest of your life you couldn't spend $2 billion.

8. Did Bill groom Chelsea or was it you?

9. Which Fucking Jew Bastard are you going to hire to make the actual decisions while you spa your way through your term?

10. Will you plead for your life at trial, or welcome the bullet

Thanks for coming on MSNBeCausewecantaffordZEROratings.

Hillary won't win on her own merits--the Obama team is cold to her, the Left would really prefer someone else, and moderates don't find her trustworthy or particularly likable. But this time around she'll get help from the GOP--only they can screw it up badly enough, by scaring the Left into voting to keep a right winger out of the White House (with a GOP Congress) and by appearing to moderates as the far less reasonable option. After the circus of 2012 (with the "Trump primary" and "Nine nine nine!") I have no doubt the GOP can certainly hand this one to Hillary.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

@HT, as a lifelong Republican, I regard your comment as hate speech.

Try matching Hillary up against Jodi Ernst, Kelly Ayotte, or Nikki Haley if you want to see what a Republican woman looks like.

Big Mike म्हणाले...

@MadMan, no such thing.

@Meade, look up "Doctor Who" on YouTube. Look for "six little words."

CStanley म्हणाले...

The dog is a metaphor for Bill, I think.

Hillary has high hopes that he will become better trained in 2015.
