"The Wisconsin Union Directorate welcomed Ezra Klein, editor-in-chief of the news website Vox.com, as part of its Distinguished Lecture Series Monday to explore American politics and its downfalls."

"Klein opened his discussion by explaining that one core problem in politics is the way it is portrayed in the media. 'Washington is terrible because we do a shitty job telling you why Washington is terrible.'..."
Although he was not always a hard worker, Klein said finding something he’s passionate about has helped to motivate him.

“The reason I’m into it is that in this moment doing this thing, it is in some weird way easier for me to work hard on it than not,” Klein said. “I just find it really interesting and compelling.”

So the man loves studying Downfalls and Declines in The Age of Obama. Gibbon's still popular too.

The Center for American Progress found him and fell in love with him, at just the right point in time for both of them.

Kind of like Ryan Seacrest found the Kardashians.

It's amazing what the right booster and publicity can do, and interesting to see who captures the public's fancy.

If the press were more honest about the Democratic Leadership's political positions, the Democrat voters would force their leadership to be less polarized...

Directorate? Really? Is there an Orwell name generator that they used to come up with that?

Although he was not always a hard worker ...

And still isn't, based on his lack of interest in deep analysis of why his political opponents hold the positions they hold.

I sincerely hope there are sufficient juice boxes available for all participants.

I don't think Vox is a union shop. I hope someone asks Ezra about that.

If only KOS could get more than 50% of its shit correct, it might be believable by others than the party faithful.

Well, the Daily Cardinal hasn't improved since I was in Madison. I can't say that the student paper at VT is any better.

I'm not surprised to see the Union packed to see Klein. If a mediocrity like Klein can make millions, there is hope for everyone.

UW-Madison graduate student Nicole Rudisill said Klein’s talk inspired her to try new things, no matter how she fears they might turn out.

“Even if you’re not sure if it’s the right thing, if something feels worth doing, you should do it,” Rudisill said.

Apparently UW Madison grad students are afraid to try new things because they are afraid of how they might turn out.

This from a "journalist". That thing he's doing in this moment with these words...it's like a toddler playing with his feces.

Ezra Klein might have the most punchable face in the news biz today.

Why is "downfall" now routinely being used in place of what is obviously meant--"downside"?

EZRA "VOXPLAININ'" KLEIN?! The man who has a documented history of NEVER, EVER being right?

My husband is in his late 40s, is very smart and has both a bachelor's and master's degree in political science. He's more qualified than Ezra Klein to pontificate.
