"He would say when you observe this type of act, you need to increase the force of good in the world."

"Do something good you wouldn't have done otherwise.... It's the only way we'll defeat the forces of evil."

The Evil forces are circling Jerusalem.

This time European forces of evil carefully carried out the murders and not the usual Muslims, who did applaud the skill of the work. The killers came from Christian Palestinian Marxists that are today's Nazis redux.

There have been Arab Christians who were terrorists for many years. George Habash was one.

Habash was a Marxist and Palestinian Christian who founded the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Habash served as Secretary-General of the Palestine Front until 2000, when ill health forced him to resign.

There are also Christian terrorists in Hamas and Fatah.

Arabs seem to be predisposed to this sort of thing.

"An Arab is a person who claims to be one, and can speak Arabic."
Col. Nasser

(And we won't be too picky about the speaking part.)

Arabs seem to be predisposed to this sort of thing.

Two components:

1. The Western "Victim" excuse

2. The Islamic "Inshallah" excuse

Thank you for posting this. Looking into his eyes, I see my kin.

"Do something good you wouldn't have done otherwise." I consider myself 'extraordinarily sensitive,' and what I want right now is the rolling of the bulldozers.

Oh, and thanks John Kerry! You warned of a 'third intifada,' and telegraphed to the Palestinians that they were entitled to it.

Not unrelated is the Administration's wish for intifada here, from Ferguson, going national.

This was a great post. So 180 degrees from the crap CNN has had on about this tragic event. So many awful things, like calling the synagogue a mosque, saying that Israelis KILLED 2 Palestinians, and on and on. Dershowitz also took on the dim-witted Ashley Banfield about this.

I liked the story. It shows how some people quietly make the world better and how faith helps them do it. If I was to really start believeing this is the strongest piece of evidence for it. People who have faith are happier and better in general than people who aren't.

If you want to see the really good stuff read the comments after the story. Islam doesn't make people better. Quite the opposite.

Progressives are disgusting people in general. I guess it is our nature to act that way without some higher ideal to guide us.

Didn't read the linked article. I looked at the post's heading, and thought that when I observe that sort of act (hacking defenseless people to death with an axe) I get a hankering for a concealed handgun permit.

I respond with Orwell: We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

Hitler was not stopped through random acts of kindness. Nor was Mussolini, Or Tojo. Or Stalin. Or Napoleon. Or the Muslims at the Gates of Vienna.

"Do something good" is fine advice, but it does not stop evil people.

Kill the islamo-fascists, and keep killing them until they beg to be allowed to surrender.

Drago म्हणाले...

Any random lefty: "Why are we worried about islamists hacking people to death with axes?!! Don't you know there are scientists landing spacecraft on comets that are wearing inappropriate shirts?!! Come on people! Priorities!"

SJ म्हणाले...

@pst314, @Mark

you seem to be thinking that protective violence cannot be in the category of "do something good."

I disagree. Protective violence can be in that category.

Aside: some violence is protective, some violence is predatory. It is helpful to have that clearly-stated before discussing whether violence can be a good thing.

I agree with you, just do something good, and let the force of evil die.
