What a distinction: "least-liked pair of candidates for any governor’s race in the past 10 years."

It's Florida's Charlie Crist and Rick Scott.

My daughter worked as an analyst for both in their offices through successive elections before she moved on to be a digital resource librarian for a major law university in Washington D.C. She liked Crist better than Scott on a personal level. That said I'll take the competent jerk over the incompetent good guy - though Charlie really isn't incompetent and Rick isn't really an asshole. Why in the world are the Democrats running Crist against Scott? For whatever reason, Scott is not very well-liked (ghosts of Willie Loman?) and would have a rough time, I think, against just about anyone else. But Crist has some serious baggage. It's almost as if the Democrats didn't have a rooting interest, and just wanted a good, close game.

Scott reminds people of Skeletor. Very limited people skills for a politician.

Crist abounds in people skills, but puts the slime in slimeball.

What a stupid article.

Instead of saying positive things in commercials about Scott, they have negative ads about Crist? The horror! Who does that?!

How about, everyone in politics today. Are they that uninformed?

How about could vote for Crist and believe anything the guy says is beyond me. I don't know the first thing about Scott, maybe that's why Crist has a shot. But wow, it's hard for me to believe anyone would vote for the guy. His only desire is to be a politician. Any politician. Republican or Democrat, doesn't matter, he just wants the power.

The losing side won't blame their candidate for not being good enough, they'll blame Adrian Wyllie for being the spoiler.

I voted for Crist once. It will not happen again.

What Party does he belong to today?

Crist is a loathsome, turncoat Oompa-Loompa. I'll gladly show up to vote against him.

I voted for Crist, both in the primary and in the general election. Huge mistake! Such a slimeball.

By the way, his primary campaign was a constant barrage of TV commercials asserting that he was, by far, the most conservative candidate in the field. That phony tan tells it all.

I find articles like this very annoying. Two guys are unpopular. OK, why? No clue.

Political races are like horse races, so you do want to know the morning line, but then you want to know why candidate A is more/less popular/unpopular than candidate B.

I lived in Florida 2003-09, so mostly under Jeb Bush. My impression was that most people thought he did a decent job and was likeable -- even those who strongly opposed his policies. Crist at first was seen as Jeb's 3d term. I don't recall that he did anything very controversial until he decided to run for the Senate. When he lost the Republican nomination to Rubio, he began a short journey into the Democratic party. I was gone by then, though.

My Gay friends in south Florida like Crist and many of them think that he's Gay himself, although he's been married twice. I neither know nor care about his sexuality.

If I were back in Florida I wouldn't vote for Crist on a bet. Someone who changes his political affiliations and positions so much for "pragmatic" reasons is not my kind of guy.

I know nothing about Scott, but if he's the non-Crist, he'd have my vote at hello. But it would be nice to know why he's disliked almost as much as Crist.
