You're likable enough.

A mug like that is good for hot chocolate, but tea should be served in thin-shelled porcelain cups.

Did you know that Finland was an autonomous part of Russia from 1809 to 1917?

Did you know that Finland fought the USSR during WWII? Twice? (Two separate wars.) And gave chunks of territory to the USSR after the war?

Did you know that Finland does not belong to NATO nor is it part of the Scandinavian defense union?

One wonders how hungry the bear is.

Hagar বলেছেন...

And did you know that Finland "belonged" to Sweden for 400 years, or so, before that?
That is how come all the blonde and blue-eyed Finns of today. However, Finland is Finland and I do not think it was ever considered "part of" Sweden. The majority population is of a very different people with a language that is totally different from either Russian or Scandinavian.

The "autonomy" of Finland under Stalin was a bit questionable. The usual story told is that he took the land most needed by the Soviet Union for access to the Baltic Sea and let them keep the rest out of sentiment and gratefulness for the time he spent in exile in Finland as a young man.
However, the Finns were quite conscious of it that sentiment would only go so far with Stalin.

Ginger Tea is merciful to people with cold feet from bad circulation.

The Korean lady that does the wife's nails also recommended "butterfly fungus Tea."

Is it just big city moms who put leashes on their children?

At the time I voted it was 73% said yes they would put a leash on their child vs. 27% who said no way.

Who knew Meade was given to British-like understatement?

There's nothing like a well-trained flyhound.

I like your new picture on the sidebar. You seem to be saying, so who do you think you are?

FleetUSA বলেছেন...

I don't like the new pic. You don't seem to be in control of your blog.

Has Meade taken over your mind too?

Meade বলেছেন...

Nice puppy pics, rh. She seems to be growing and thriving nicely.

Meade বলেছেন...

Drago, I stole that line directly from the President. "You're likable enough, Hillary."

Fleet, I had nothing to do with the sidebar photo. But I like it... enough.

MadMan--

Sisu means 'guts' in Finnish.'

'Ka-boom-ski' means 'kaboom' in Russian.

One Blue Platitude Special, please!

Hagar: Many Lithuanians and Finns have common genetic history. We've found our closest relatives on my mother's Lithuanian side in Finland.

The Finns put up a hell of a fight against the Russians.

Between Germany and Russia is a tough place to be.

When you think Litvak, think Johnny Unitas, Dick Butkus, and Charles Bronson;

Here's Charles from Death Wish 5, cleverly using a motorized soccer ball to impart sweet vigilante justice upon 'Freddie Flakes'.

Before coolly watching the fruits of his meticulous labor end in a gruesome, fiery death for Freddie, Charles manages to impart some final wisdom:

'Hey Freddie, I'm going to take care of your dan-DRUFF problem for you.'

Come to Lithuania!

Hagar, I do Manly Mugs of manly Tea!

And the Finns did a job on the Russkis, even though waaaaaaaay outnumbered.

No, paminwi, wife and I did, too, in smaller towns. Sometimes the leash is the only thing that works.

Finland never gave anything to the Soviets after WWII - Churchill and Roosevelt gave away what seemed to be half of the world to Stalin after the war, among which was resetting the Finnish-Russian border back to 1941 locations after the Finns had retaken the territories lost in the Winter War of 1939-1940.

To me, Althouse's new picture looks like it should be captioned "Buy me a drink, sailor."

The state is using money to tell me marijuana is legal. It says it clear as day.

But the state law and constitution don't supersede federal law so I am confused. Why is the state encouraging folks to break federal laws, and doing do in a dishonest manner?

The quote from the first ad is written on the screen-capture.

"Installing your TV while high is legal" it claims, entrapping folks into breaking the laws of The United States of America.

How many federal crimes are committed every time one of these inaccurate, crime-causing ads plays?
