Scott Walker 47%, Mary Burke 45% — in the Marquette poll for next year's race for Wisconsin Governor.

"That's within the poll's margin of error of 3.5 percentage points, making it 'essentially a tossup,' said the poll's director, Charles Franklin."
The poll indicated that 50% of those surveyed had a favorable opinion of Walker and 46% had an unfavorable opinion of him. For Burke, 17% had a favorable view and 14% had an unfavorable view.
Obviously, people don't know much about Burke yet.

Is your election next week? Not much time for Walker to let people know more about Burke.

She would have polled better but a lot of her supporters were out singing at the time.

The only thing a significant number of Wisconsin voters need to know is that she is not Walker.

Nineteen percent support the shutdown that was pushed by the GOP to stop health care reform from going into effect. Those opposed to the shutdown: 76%

Was that the phrasing of the poll question? If so, the "push" was in the poll.

Not only is it within the margin of error, it's within the margin of Democrat voter fraud. As a general rule, the average Republican has to beat the average Democrat by 5% to avoid losing due to "discoveries" of "lost" votes.

If WI replaces Walker with Burke, they deserve what they get.

If people like her, watch out Walker.

If you read the Wisconsin prog blogs you will find that they want Kathleen Vinehout and don't think much of Burke.

If the state party can't sideline Vinehout, then there will be a primary where Burke will have to define herself and spend some money. The last thing Mary Burke wants is to have define her positions on issues.

Burke should win that primary and all the progs will vote for her, but they won't do the groundwork her campaign will need.
