Facebook is looking to collect data on where your cursor hovers and clicks.

Says Facebook analytics chief Ken Rudin, whose face looks like this:

At least he can't track my eyes and read my mind as I look at him.

Record the closest approximation of your thoughts.

Oh Ann.

Doesn't your computer, phone or tablet have a camera that's constantly pointed at your face while you work? Tracking mouse movements, button clicks, and keystrokes has been going on for decades. Facial recognition is getting fairly advanced.

Doesn't you computer, phone or tablet have a microphone that's constantly close enough to detect your speech? Speech to text and lexical analysis is getting fairly advanced.

I have a piece of electrical tape covering my laptop camera. Deal with it, Facebook.

I've been counting on the green light to show when the camera is on, but obviously, it's possible that they can get in there and disable the light.

Should I be taping over it?

There was a news story recently of a guy caught hacking into women's laptop cameras, so it's possible.
