"The Newark mayor and candidate for an open U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey was one of five political performers who appeared at the annual Stu Bykofsky Candidate Comedy Night in Philadelphia."
"I'm kind of tired of people comparing me to President Obama... I coordinated neighborhoods; he organized them." Can someone explain that joke?

I think he's saying they're actually the same, he and the president he admires.
He was just surprised he held up his hands and no lobbyist or developer threw money at them.
Watched the clip, and didn't catch that.
And we have Downtown Scotty Brown sitting in for O'Reilly tonight.
Puts one in mind of Dr. Johnson's remark about a woman preaching.
the main thing is, he's been mayor of newark for a few years; unindicted; and that's sort of a record, here in New Jersey; so he's got my vote
I think urpower is right: the joke is that there isn't really any difference between them.
Color-coordinated the neighborhoods, Ann.
"Color-coordinated the neighborhoods, Ann."
What does that mean?
I got a whiff of the gay rumors and the stereotype of gay men as interior decorators!
"Watched the clip, and didn't catch that."
It's in the article and was from the event, but maybe it didn't make the video cut. I didn't hear it either. I was hoping to get more context.
I honestly don't understand the joke.
What's the difference between organizing and coordinating?
"What's the difference between organizing and coordinating?"
Nothing. That's the 'joke.'
It immediately reminded of coming to America...
McDonald's versus mcdowells

Oragnized CRIME?
Seems like a brilliant political joke to me. No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, you can agree with him, laugh at the joke, and like him better.
If you like Obama, the joke is there's no difference.
If you don't like Obama, the joke is that Obama was a "community organizer" (read as: race-baiting rabble rouser) whereas Booker, as mayor, had to actually get real people in the community working together to effect real change.
(In other words, it's a subtle way to point out that Booker has actual executive experience.)
Either way, you end up liking Cory Booker better. Quite clever. And the ambiguity gets it quoted and passed on.
(I tried to watch the video to get the context and the delivery, but this quote doesn't appear in the 3 minute clip I watched by following the link...)
