I don't know why, because the colors are wrong, but it makes me think of this: Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.
The next question is how did the NRA acquire my address?? I don't contribute to the Republican party. My father (deceased) contributed. My mother is constantly turning them away. We do not care to play the game.
Has anybody else been solicited??
It's either a shotgun I purchased 18 months ago at Cabelas, or my comments here.
(No, Professor, I do not blame you)...Google? Yes, they had whore me out!
Around here we're seeing scarlet, as in scarlet fever. I thought that was a disease for characters in old books. Apparently it's a disease for modern day six year olds too.
Freeman When my 4 older kids kids were little they got scarlatina. It was NOT fun. I sort of thought scarlet fever was one of those extinct childhood diseases. Best of luck.
On Tuesday I had a doctor tell me that a temperature of 105.4 was no big deal. Yeah, okay. I think I know why that was the one doctor with openings left when I called in the afternoon.
madAsHell - You can send the NRA money without joining the club. Just sign up a few of your favorite liberals for a one year membership. Make sure to select the ball cap with gold NRA seal and scrambled eggs for their Free Gift.
Freeman- my oldest got scarlet fever several times. All I could think of was Beth in Little Women. Boringly, I found out it was just a form of strep, and happily it's easy enough to be rid of. He got is when we lived in your area,. I wonder if its something that lurks there.

I've seen stories of other "old" childhood ailments coming back.
Our wonderful government schools and health care in action?
Or inaction?
And, yes, glad the little guy is bouncing back. According to The Blonde, a sustained temp of 104+ will result in brain damage and/or death, so avoid that one medic like the plague.

When searching, spelling is very important. Physician/Physicist. Both doctors, but you almost always want the one with drugs, and the smaller thermometer.
According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving."
Who the heck are these people to tell us what is reasonable for us to have?
Freeman, I hope your child is quickly on the mend.
I read recently that there's a new edition of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books out, with additional commentary. They now think that Mary's blindness was not caused by Scarlett Fever.

Oh, that sharp sweet green. Spring is coming, in all its hidden emerging incisiveness.
Beautiful pic, Madame. You really should do a book.
I'd love to believe that was taken outside, but, sad to say, I know better.
I'd also like to envision what might be framing those flowers, but someone might yell at me.
After a cold and lifeless winter, I like to unfurl with a cup of French Roast coffee... at the Hydrangea Café.
What would Madonna say?
Nature's first green is gold, said Robert Frost.

Oooohhh...do I feel like a special snow-flake.
The NRA sent me a petition. They want me to vent my spleen, and then, if I am so moved, join their club.
I'd rather send the NRA money without joining the club.
I stopped joining clubs when I left the frat house.
If we were 14 I'd link pinky fingers with you and make a wish!

Are you a member of facebook? There was something on my timeline from the NRA recently.

Fingers crossed for your children, Freeman.

Scarlet fever is a variation of (strep) streptococcus. Also called scarlatina.
Kids used to die from it (pre-antibiotics).
I had it as a kid.
Hope your kiddo recovers quickly.
Thanks, Irene. He should be on the mend now that he's got antibiotics.
Thanks, JAL.
Isn't Pogo a pediatrician?
Maybe he wont charge if you ask him ;)
No, he's the opposite.

April is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.

Chances are, you could substitute the name of your alma mater here and the account would remain accurate.

I'm hoping to get around to putting down the aluminum sulfate earlier this year.

I wish I could unhurl after reading what our Dear Leader said about a female Atty General. Isn't that right, "sweetie"?
Incidentally, I am easing my way back online, and will try to be here every once in a while and live-tweeting Mad Men (MAD MEN!!!).
Missing all ya'll, as they say in Newcastle.
Cheers,
Victoria
Scarlet fever! Freeman! HUGS.

Sorry to hear of your son's illness. I veered away from pediatrics because sick children broke my heart. Hope he's better.
That doctor sounds perfect for the nihilism of Obamacare.

Thank you all.
