The Constitution requires that the President have greater elevation and flags.
Meaningful meetings where stuff actually gets done is hard.
As a result, Obama won't do many more of them.
Less than regal surroundings for POTUS at a non-campaign event. And no presidential seal on the podium!

You know....if you are actually planning to meet WITH other people, try to discuss things, get some work done, I would suggest that you actually sit down WITH them, instead of lording over everyone with a podium between you and those you are supposed to be meeting WITH.

I picture Obama bringing his podium and teleprompter everywhere - like at home everyone's else is sitting in chairs around the dinner table but he's got his podium and he's reading from the prompter "So Natasha, how was your day?"

This is theater for Obama. He's doing this for PR and after its all said and done he will come back and claim the evil GOP won't let me raise a $1 trillion in new taxes so we can continue our spending death spiral.

I do not recollect anybody -ever- making the claim he was good at it.
Obama's idea of an "exchange of ideas" is that he lectures an audience and they exchange their wrongheaded, racist ideas for his sane and sensible ones.
If you want to go north, and I want to go west, we can compromise and head off to the northwest.
If you want to go north, and I want to go south, then it is just a zero-sum tug-of-war with one winning and the other losing, or a stalemate.
Anyway, no progress.
They all look like people having a good time don't they?
Why would anyone want that job enough to campaign for it?
Definitely worth 1000 words.
Maybe they could have a real exchange of ideas after the 2014 election, and only if the GOP takes the Senate and keeps the House.
Until then, this is full campaign mode. I just hope they are smart enough to realize this.
Allan Drury's "A Senate Journal" plus "Advice and Consent" should be required reading.
He has the least real world experience of anyone in that room and I am including the bartenders, waiters and cooks.

I think one recently became available.
It's almost a bitch-slap that there is an ordinary folding long table set up without even a tablecloth on it. You can practically see the gum just past the edge on the underside of the table.
