After nursing it's all downhill. She makes it sound like now he's not nursing he has to leave the nest altogether. BOOT---write when you get work!

Now Fred will have to drink from the sippy cup until he's 21.

Sounds like that "very special episode of Blossom" they kept promising us.

Never mind.

Plains Indian women regularly wet-nursed their babies for 4 - 5 years.

They also didn't have sex during that time.

Which explains a lot of American history.

PS A great many people who were breast-fed by a wet-nurse instead of their mother remembered the bond was as great as that with their mothers.

My experience with nursling Robins is that they hang around at the back fence for you to come home, and land on you to beg for blueberries.

It probably helps explain Bialik's recent divorce, too.

'I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss being able to latch him on and make it all better. We have other ways to soothe Fred now.'

I'm sure. It's not about soothing Fred, It's about soothing Bialik. Such ego-centrism prevents her from seeing what is best for the child and only consider her needs, no matter how she couches her explanations.

Supposedly, wet-nursing stimulates the sex urge.

I wonder how much her and her husband's version of "attachment parenting", including the fact that they all lived in a one-bedroom apartment and slept in a family bed, contributed to the divorce?

Of course how she and the father choose to raise the children is their business. BUT I just don't see why she feels the need to broadcast intimate details about her breast-feeding. Does she not realize that this will be on the internet forever, and most likely be completely mortifying to her children someday...like when their friends find out about it?

Dear Ms. Bialik-

Shut up. We don't care. Stop talking about your kid. Some things are personal.

Your friend,

Me

Huh. Watching The Big Bang Theory you would think she is a serious cock hound, but maybe she's just a great actress.

Watch out for mammary wealth redistribution.

Nursing until 3 or 4 is the normal human practice. Weaning before that is an Historical and cultural aberration.

No, I didn't nurse any of mine that long.

Putting a baby or small child that you'd never let out of your sight for a single moment over the length of the whole day in a separate part of the house, alone, in a little bed over night, is also an Historical and cultural aberration.
