The NY Daily News endorses Romney.

It endorsed Obama in '08, but it doesn't always endorse the Democrat. It endorsed Bush in 2004.

Here's today's endorsement.

Interesting halo effect around Mitt's head. I thought that was reserved for Obama.

Mitt gets his halo because he's a latter-day saint.

The Daily News endorsing Romney is not surprising. What is a local shocker is that Newsday on Long Island also endorsed Romney. Usually the paper is reliably Democratic. If you've lost Newsday . . . .

Please, please, please let the halo thing end with Obama! I hate that.

Let's take a closer look at that aureola.

Speaking of things I hate about the way Obama is photographed. Can we look forward to the end of the gold shower curtain he's so often photographed in front of? (In front of which he's so often photographed. Just so you know I do know the correct form.)

On the top photo at Drudge, Barack seems to be checking out Ann Romney's behind, at least at first glance.

Maybe Michelle, too.

Given the fact that the election is on a Tues. shouldn't most up to date polling reflect the typical 1-2 pt bounce Dems. typically get over the weekend?

Or does the proximity to the election render the regular rules of thumb inapplicable?

AF বলেছেন...

I heard that Romney was up by 6 in NY. Mittmentum!

KCFleming বলেছেন...

Wyo sis, that sort of grammar is something up with which I will not put.

AF,

I actually would be curious to see a poll comparison purely of NYC voters before the storm and right now.

Clicking on the link takes you to a photo that has a weird look - set in an airport building, all the parallel pipes mounted on the ceiling fanning over Romney.

Obama'd still be winning no doubt, but it may indicate whether the storm response is a millstone or a wash.

I'm discounting that it would benefit him given the damage resulting from Bloomberg's bungling and NJ turning away aid because they're not in a union.

This is not over folks.

Today is Sunday. The Obama campaign is starting to play dirty. The press has already started: the Politico.com had Christie as a VP story yesterday.

Tomorrow will be brutal. It will be like D-Day. Expect Matthews and Maddow to have a political orgasm on live tv.

And, the master, Nate Silver, has announced that Obama is going to win.

We are doomed. I cannot eat. I cannot sleep. I am worried if I will be crying on Tuesday.

My life is in shambles. At-least, I voted early (the friday last at 4pm in Fairfax, VA). If VA went to Obama, I am going to ...

I'm liking the trend, if liberal newspapers are trending toward Romney then surely the voters are too.

Meanwhile over at the Contrary Brin blog, scifi-author/Caltech-trained astronomer David Brin has moved to bizarre rants about shadowy Republican henchmen stealing elections and the possibility that we can't find intelligent life in the galaxy because leadership on other planets is taken over by dangerous, ignorant Republican-like oligarchies.

Brin has long been hysterical about red-blue politics, but he's going the extra mile here.

I take that as a good sign.

Some people are always looking for a secular Jesus, the spiritual descendants of the Third Great Awakening. Hopefully some day they'll be harmless eccentrics like the Masons. But that day is not quite nigh. Please, people, they're politicians, even the ones that are *our* politicians.

Met two of Romney's kids yesterday. Seem decent enough men, and ironically, better semi-public speakers than the two actual politicians (one of them a sitting, three-term governor whom I would have voted for in the primaries if he'd made it to Pennsylvania before dropping out) who came by later in the day. I found both the family-of-politicians and the politician interruptions to be a little wasteful of 72 Hour volunteer time, but at least they held it in the call room instead of wasting time shuffling us out to an auditorium somewhere and then shuffling us back.

Give it up, cons; Mittens is never gonna be prez.

As I've told you over and over and over and over, Zero is either going to win this election or steal it.

Who knew, AF, that you were such a bitter clinger.

You say halo, I see presidential seal.

Others may see Mitt's face as the center of a target.

The Charlottesville Daily Progress endorsed RR today. In 2008 they endorsed Hope and Change.

If you've lost the Daily Dirt, as we called its Philadelphia counterpart, you've lost the Demos.

(be interesting to see who the People Paper did endorse...)

Be careful of that for which you wish. Many a true word has been spoken in jest and, as Christopher notes, a lot of the people on whom the Demos count to swing the Empire State their way are in a very bad mood.

(if they call NY early, then it really is over...)

The Daily News endorsing Romney is not surprising.

Considering that the NY Daily News is much more "minority" oriented than the NY Post, NY Times or Newsday, I'd call this a very gutsy move and very surprising. All you have to do is pickup the News on any given day and the amount of coverage specifically set aside for and aimed at blacks and hispanics is startling relative to the other NY papers. Mort Zuckerman is really putting his convictions ahead of the bottom line.

Romney's been endorsed by the Madison Wisconsin State Journal -- what's their political slant?

"As I've told you over and over and over and over, Zero is either going to win this election or steal it."

If its not close, they can't steal it so says one of the conservative pundits.

"Mort Zuckerman is really putting his convictions ahead of the bottom line."

Mort Zuckerman is a liberal though a critic of Obama and his bottom line isn't determined by the Daily News, he probably loses money on it though I don't really know.

The Cracker Emcee Refulgent বলেছেন...

I'm guessing Mort Zuckerman is Jewish, which may speak to different electoral trend.

That pundit is wrong. This crowd could reverse a RR landslide.

Imagine SEIU thugs with "Official Federal Agent" IDs issued by Eric Holder himself. Possibly coming soon to a swing state near you!

Obama and FEMA failed New York. They hate middle class, upper middle class, and wealthy people. Those people are suffering and they did nothing to help. No wonder the liberal News endorsed Mitt. He wants to get rid of FEMA, a useless bureaucracy, and replace it with something that works. Works for people not useless bureaucrats.
