Petraeus is "an absolutely necessary witness."

Says House Homeland Security Committee Chairman, Representative Peter King.

King's predictable hyperbole aside, Petreaus was not liked by CIA insiders as they prefer someone comin' up from the CIA ranks to become their director.

They should manage to capably muddle thru somehow as hopefully they have improved a tad from their Iraq wmd's faux pas.

Anybody want to bet Petraeus suddenly goes incommunicado?

So they threw Broadwell at him?

So they love Zero so much they waited until after the election?

Oh, you mean the one Willie bought hook, line, and sinker?

And where were you hiding out 10/5 - 11/5 when the Romster was winning?

Lizzie Warren's feather duster?

We're gonna find out.

Of course he needs to testify. What a silly time we have entered. Or I should say what a serious time to play silly games. I get this feeling we are going to get slapped right out of our silliness soon.

Petraeus must be called to testify, and must answer.

Broadwell's a babe, from the pix I've seen, but he was supposed to be smarter than that.

The timing on this? Suspicious. Highly.

What's so bad about having a mistress?

I really don't get it.

What Petraeus has done is give life to the Benghazi hearings. With every two-bit pundit and inkstained wretch running around begging for a scrap to write something about, who knows what will come to light from this?

grackle म्हणाले...

Here's some fun speculation:

Suppose after appointing Petraeus to Director of the CIA, the obligatory background check reveals the affair. Obama realizes he has something on Petraeus that could come in handy later. Or perhaps Obama knew about the affair before the appointment …

Later Benghazi happens. It's a real snafu with possibly bad political repercussions. Obama looks around for a fall guy – remembers the background check of Petraeus and the as yet publicly unrevealed affair.

In exchange for keeping the affair secret, thereby sparing Petraeus being fired from his job as Director and his marriage ruined, Obama has Petraeus lie to Congress that the Benghazi attack was part of a spontaneous demonstration about the video. It's not a really deep emphatic lie and is embedded in cya ambiguous language but it will allow Obama to claim the administration lies about Benghazi was due to faulty, incomplete, "fog of war" intelligence from the CIA.

Something happens after the election to change the situation. Perhaps Petraeus decided being a willing fall guy was just not something he wanted to do. Perhaps the wife found out about the affair. Perhaps Petraeus learned his ex-lover was planning on writing a tell-all memoir. Petraeus decides to come clean with the House hearings and tell the truth.

As I'm writing this a FoxNews contributor comes up with a similar theory - Obama was trying to blackmail Petraeus and Petraeus decided not to cooperate.

kentuckyliz म्हणाले...

Why are we automatically assuming Petraeus' marriage is ruined?

Stand by your man.

Forgive.

Wife is the spouse of a military man who spent much time deployed abroad. There was probably an understanding (spoken or unspoken).

I assume that Peter King will resign in the next week after having found to be involved in some kind of scandal.

If Petraeus was waiting to see how the election turned out, then he knows now. He should be a good soldier and a patriot and volunteer to go before the committee and say what he knows about Benghazi, whatever it is. He owes it to this country that he defended in foreign lands. Defend it here and now from nefarious elements.

You're not cynical enough in your list of things that might have happened after the election to change the situation. Maybe Obama told Petraeus that he (Obama) would never tell the world about the mistress if Petraeus would keep quiet about Benghazi until after the election, then decided to break his promise once it was safe to do so and screw Petraeus over since he didn't need him any more. If the truth about Benghazi might have caused him to lose the election, who cares? What are the American people going to do about it?

===============
This is another past masterstroke of the liberal and progressive jewish bosses of the media..on a par with how they turned homosexual Catholic priest chickenhawks that were let in and kept in in the name of "tolerance" - to diddle mainly willing gay adolescents - into a new narrative of NONHOMOSEXUAL pedophile priests.

In the case of WMD, they managed to pin 100% of the blame on Bush and the CIA in the American publics mind.
The puppeteers of the media did so well the average American oblivious to their machinations would be shocked to know...

1. The Israeli intel people were positive he had WMD, because it would be insane of Saddam to imply he still had them, suffer sanctions, and invite invasion if they didn't exist.
2. The Iranian intelligence agencies leaked to the Germans and Russians they believed the same thing the Israelis did, on the same rationale.
3. The Russians, Germans, Chinese, Saudis, French DST, Turks all concurred.
4. This was backed up by moles placed by the Brit MI-6 and Jordanian secret police - that had been in rooms where members of Saddam's inner circle had stated that there were large caches of nerve gas and mustard gas under the control of 2 undisclosed Republican Guard groups.
5. All were fooled by the German find - "Curveball" - who was actually a well-briefed liar serving the Iraqi Exiles. His role was to make up shit that would facilitate Chalabi and others getting rich and returning to power.

But as good as the "pedophile priest" and "Bush lied! babies died!" narratives of the liberals and progressive Jew masters of the media" they are NOTHING compared to how the media helped image Obama as Messiah then covered up all his fuckups, school transcripts, and suppressed negative stories about while trashing all his opponents from Ryan to insane Keyes to Hillary to McCain to Romney to Petraeus.

Apparently, Hillary Clinton is choosing to not testify as well.

MikeDC म्हणाले...

Is someone actually suggesting he won't or can't be called to testify? I don't understand why anyone is actually talking about this

McTriumph म्हणाले...

The FBI and DOJ have been investigating emails between Petraeus and his skank since he was still commanding forces in Afghanistan. So the Obama Administration knew about this affair prior to hiring him as Director of the CIA. Same old story, we suddenly have a right to know after an election. Thanks MSM.

I read this as "absolutely necessary whiteness."

Gary Rosen म्हणाले...

Cedarford, you need to do a better job of keeping your lies straight. Petraeus is no neocon or friend of Israel and in fact has tried to throw Israel under the bus. If you spent less time jacking yourself off to sleep you might be able to figure this stuff out.

Have you figured out yet whether your imaginary children are male or female?

Matt Sablan म्हणाले...

Petraeus was a rare bird in politics. He was just competent at the tasks laid out for him (the surge, etc.)

A shame he wasn't as competent at keeping it in his pants as he was at commanding.

grackle म्हणाले...

grackle: You're not cynical enough in your list of things that might have happened after the election to change the situation.

Another scenario: Motivated by loyalty Petraeus lied by omission and Obama-serving ambiguity in his briefings to Congress but would go no further – not wanting to be the fall guy if Benghazi blows up. Obama then deals the "affair card," threatening disclosure, with the attendant loss of job, prestige, and sure to bring about public embarrassment and stress to the marriage. Maybe at first this threat silences Petraeus but perhaps Petraeus upon reflection, with subpoenaed testimony under oath looming, decided that humiliation was preferable to a perjury trial – a la Scooter Libby. Perhaps Petraeus saw down the road that a special prosecutor on Benghazi might be in the offing and chose hurtful truth over indictment.

Jack म्हणाले...

I'm really hoping that Petreaus will testify and help blow the cover on the great Kenyan conspiracy that 0bama has been concealing, with help from his friends in the liberal media.

And, to answer my liberal brother-in-law's question, "No, I don't ever get tired of spouting this wingnut nonsense."

Jack म्हणाले...

Also, can you freaking imagine the hay Fox News and Drudge could have made with this story, had it broke two days before the election? Imagine, they could have made up *anything they wanted* and no one in the liberal media would have time to fact check it before the election!

What rotten luck -- we lost a golden opportunity to bullshit past the goalpost.
