John henry বলেছেন...: When I was on a cruise in the Mediterranean in 1969, in all the ports there were lots of bars named "Texas Bar", "Miami Bar" and so on.

They were generally OK places to drink but they also had lots of bar girls. They would come sit with lonely sailors and basically just talk. They could not be touched, they would not leave the bar with anyone. You bought them glasses of "champagne" and they sat and kept you company.

Myself, I never understood the attraction but they did a land office business.

I am more a George Higgins type: "I can understand why men go with whores. Sometimes you just want to get laid without having to listen to all the music before and after."
