"Natalia Juarez, a philosophy professor who is running as a member of the Party of the Democratic Revolution, rolled out a billboard recently showing her posing topless..."

"... with six other female members of the party. The billboards were posted around Guadalajara, the mostly conservative capital of the western state of Jalisco and Mexico's second-largest city."

You say you want a revolution...

Quite an interesting development in Mexican politics--got to give the ladies credit for a great campaign poster. As titus would say: tits

Gotta say--one hell of lot better message than "Bain Capital bad."

Meh.. Saggy, dumpy lefties. So what else is new?

If breasts is all the "Party of the Democratic Revolution" is got, then they ought to make sure they're real and thy're spectacular.

I've always found Mexican politics amusing. Consider this -- Cinco de Mayo (granted not a major fiesta south of the border) basically celebrates their avoidance of being French, which is a cause célèbre among most peoples, but when the alternative is being Mexican? And for decades the ruling party in Mexico was the PRI -- Partido Revolucionario Institucional -- revolution as an institution -- say what, Pedro?

It strikes me that Google could do a breast thing with one of their doodles.

I like the one today. Thanks for the tip Lem.

Questor--lighten up dude--tits are wonderful! Did I ever tell you about the worst rack I saw? It was wonderful

:)

Sort of what Quaestor said - the billboard's a tease. If you're going to be provocative and pose topless, pose topless. Don't cover your breasts with your hands.

And yet if her male opponent pays attention to Juarez' breasts, that would be sexist.

What is it with dumping on the attractiveness of ladies? OK, there is one there likely past her "go topless in public by" date, but the rest of them? It looks like a great party.

If Natalia Juarez arranged the ladies for the photo, then I have to surmise that her judgement is spotty: The woman 3rd from the left ought to be in the back but the one 3rd from the right needs to be in the front.

Probably though, it was unplanned; the more shy types gravitating to the back and the bolder wanting to be in the front.

The 2nd from the left displays a likeable insouciance by peeking out through a porthole made by thumb and forefinger.

A great opportunity to "rate the ladies!" That's what men are doing in Guadalajara. My fav is the one with the belly tattoo.

You should see the government's rack.

It's attachment parenting at a state level, to give suck from cradle to grave.

Quaestor म्हणाले...

...lighten up dude...

Nah. You may have noticed my new avatar which I'll keep for the rest of this election year. It's little Anthony Fremont from the classic Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life". For the foreseeable I'm on the lookout for bad people to wish into the cornfield. So beware!

Roger J. म्हणाले...

Quaestor--as more of a classicist myself I enjoyed your SPQR avatar--"for the senate and people of Rome"
You still see it when you visit rome.

Quite the allusion.

anyway--enjoy the tits :)

They are topless while more mass graves are discovered with the bodies their headless countrymen.

I think I see a nipple in the back row. I have always wanted to see Nancy Pelosi's rack. She keeps those babies strapped in. I have kidded for your years that if she ever got in political trouble she would unstrap them.

Palin and Pelosi are about the only 2 American pols I would want on a poster.

ndspinelli म्हणाले...

Where the hell is Titus??

Ipso Fatso म्हणाले...

To tag along with ndspinelli, whatever happend to Carol Herman?

अनामित म्हणाले...

ndspinelli: You need your noggin checked. The septuagenarian Pelosi?

I know.

And where is Bissage?!

Years ago there was someone named Capt. Hate which I thought was a great handle. He/she is missing too.

I am pleased to report that Captain Hate is alive and well and commenting regularly at Tom McGuire's blog Just One Minute. He's a great guy (I have met him) and definitely adds spice to any comment thread.

Quite the allusion.

Actually, little Anthony is an allusion to the quaestors' secondary function. When not busy auditing public expenditures they acted much like our clerks of court, scheduling prosecutions and such. BTW, did you know that the term "to audit" in the sense that it is used in accounting comes to us directly from the Roman quaestorship? If you had been given a sum of public money or resources to accomplish a project -- build a road, drain a swamp -- you had to report to a quaestor, who would sit at his writing desk and listen (audit = he hears) to your oral account.

I'll bring back SPQR when we've settled Obama's hash and we got the republic again.

Quaestor म्हणाले...

I'm pleased to read he's happy and well, but I can't recall his style, though Captain Hate implies a certain "edginess".

I guess he was nuthin' like Sergeant Hatred, huh?

Quaestor म्हणाले...

Hey! What happened to the "a" tag functionality?

Quaestor म्हणाले...

This should be a link.

Quaestor म्हणाले...

That was odd. You'd think Blogger would either compile the tag or display the html as text, but not half-way compile it... bizarre.

Roger J. म्हणाले...

Queastor--I do hope you will bring back the SPQR avatar--recall what happened to the protestors of the establishment of the empire.

Tacitus' writings were, IIRC, mean to ridicule the empire--fortunately for readers, his writings survived.

Alas, Roman history, like most histories is no longer a subject for study.
