"A little?" And this guy is supposedly an expert on hypnosis? My father is a self-taught hypnotist (and not a crackpot, he learned it for a very specific practical reason), and has hypnotized many people over the years. He hypnotized me once. It requires effort on the part of the person being hypnotized, a LOT of concentration. At least, that was my experience. And I was perfectly aware of everything he said.

This is real. It happens to me every year mid-April. Someone somehow gets me to send the government half of all the money I made for the whole previous year. Clearly nobody in their right mind would do such a thing without being under some kind of spell or hypnotic trance. Afterward, I always remember doing it, but have no idea why, or any hint of what happens to the money. It just disappears. I know. Spooky, huh?

While I am somewhat skeptical, I've had enough weird shit happen to me that I don't discount it out of hand. Having experienced hypnotism personally, it does take a certain mind set, and personality to undergo it. And you can't be forced to murder someone like on Mattlock.
I would be more inclined to believe that maybe drugging is involved, or some sort of mass hysteria, than actual hypnosis.

When I read the headline, I think that Chinatown is being warned about robbing hypnotists. As in, Chinatown should not do that.
