Here she is YouTubing her hat into the ring.
Here's a discussion over in the Isthmus forum — "Who should run in the recall?" — where Meade asks:
Can someone help me understand the resistance to and animosity toward Kathleen Falk expressed here? The forum folk don't really want to get their heads around that question, which is actually quite devious.
While serving as Dane county executive, she was able to negotiate with the unions and get them to collectively bargain for a reduction in salaries and health benefits that resulted in a savings to taxpayers of nearly $10 million. Isn't she just the sort of governor Democrats need in order to show that collective bargaining for public sector employees leads to reduced job losses and balanced budgets?

I hope she gets the nod from the Unions who are controlling the selection process. She is a two time loser, and I am looking forward to the trifecta of election losses that she will able to claim.
On a funnier note, she admonished Walker not to delay. This from the party of the Rockford,IL.fleebaggers. And constant disruptions of the State Senate a year ago.
Sen. Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton) said he was considering a run for governor and focusing on who would be the best candidate.
Head fleebagger there. How does the whole fleebagging escapade poll in WI these days?
Mahal?
Will there be a Democrat primary if there are more than one opponents or does it just turn into a come-one, come-all sort of affair?
I will run if necessary to force a Democrat primary.

Head fleebagger Walker out of town every week fundraising, leaving the state in Rebecca for Real's hands? Hard to say.
But, Garage, Walker cannot count on all that union dues money coming into his campaign fund. So, no recall election, Walker stays in town.
To keep things in Wisconsin surreal, I think Kloppenburg should run.
Don't know her, but Neal Boortz put out a theory why the unions got enough signatures.
For those who don't read, it's a riff on the Dinkins/Bradley Effect which gives the whole enterprise the same feel as Wile E Coyote realizing the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train and all he can do is hold up a sign saying, "Stop! In the name of humanity!".
We know how it ends.
Relax, Mahal. I'd like to see him run. I predict he'll be the front runner unless Feingold changes his mind. Besides, I didn't save those old HS yearbooks for nothin'
@ Scott M: Primary would be necessary. So far we have Falk and John Smith!
Kathleen Falk?
Two time loser in state wide elections. It's like freakin' Christmas all over again. Sure Madison libs love her, but that will not play across the state.
Shay your prayersh recallersh.
Barrett polls the best of all the Democrats. Problem is, the unions don't want him and his only success as Mayor of Milwaukee is balancing his budget using Walker's tools.
I'm considering voting for Falk in the primary.
Falk in the video: "Faced with an all out assault on everything that matters to us, we reacted, not with despair, not with anger, but with hope."
She got to the lying within 20 seconds.
So, what are the rules for the replacement election? California has, what, 500 candidates?
The question; she is devious?
If the opponent is selected in a primary, is it partisan? If not, can Scott Walker run in the primary?
Sweeet! What a gift! The only thing better would be if Falk endorsed Carleton Armstrong for Lt. Governor.

Walker is automatically in unless there is a GOP candidate. This is a mott point, he will be the GOP candidtae if a recall election is held.
WI has an open primary, so all us GOPers can vote and help choose the DNC candidate.
Falk for Governor?
Brittany Zimmerman and Mark Johnson unavailable for comment.
I tried to post this before but it never showed up, so I'll try again.
If another Dem declares, there will be a Dem primary. Tom Barrett is still thinking about running. He said a few weeks ago that he hadn't signed a recall petition and wasn't sure he would, but if he didn't, no doubt someone signed for him.
Nice try equating the governor to the fleebaggers, Garage, but big fail.
Sure Madison libs love her, but that will not play across the state.
1.Madison libs don't love her.
2.Relatedly, we heard that for months about gathering enough signatures. "outside of Madison this won't play well!"
We all know how that turned out. All 72 counties dropped off boxes of signatures in person to the GAB. Now six Republicans will be on the ballot in a recall election. Ooops.
From a purely practical point, this woman Falk's lisp is too annoying to run for statewide office. It's not Daffy Duck bad, but after about 45 seconds it's too annoying to listen to any longer.
Walker comes across as pretty dull, but dull is okay, and quite preferable to a lisp.
I'm gonna say something shallow:
Kathleen Falk should embrace the Grey. That hair color is not working for her.
I think an ambitious - but state-wide unknown Democrat -- should instead run for Lt. Governor. Even though she was elected in a statewide office, I'm not sure how good a candidate she is (that is, would she have been elected in any other year but 2010?)
If I ran for Lt. Gov, I'd run on a platform of rewriting the Constitution to eliminate the position (and the Secy of State). Talk about anachronisms that waste money. That would put the incumbent in the position of having to defend what she does, which ain't much.
There seems to be a lot of losers these past several months in WI- Cannot seem to win, when it really, really counts. This Recall election, in my opinion, will be no different.
This, providing, of course, that the majority of the gathered signatures are valid.
I heard that some new resident from New Jersey named John Corzine has offered to fund his own campaign effort and also pay 30% returns on all invested farmer's monies.
This is one Democrat who can budget the way Unions want him to, thus drawing the line between Union welfare and corporate greed.
But he must await for a slow Bankruptcy to discharge him first. Then he can start in on Wisconsin.
And let's not forget her role in the women's chokegate rally.
"Faced with an all out assault on everything that matters to us"
Nice to have that on the record, right up front.
We don't know yet when all this will take place, but I hope the recall bumps up against the Presidential election.
It will be great to see the lefties laud the wonders of a guy who ran up a 15 trillion dollar deficit while condemning a man who balanced a budget that was 3 billion in the red.
The contrast will be stark and welcome.
The idea of a recall election in the abstract, with no declared candidate, is a lot different from the actuality of having candidates who have to come up with some kind of a platform apart from "Scott Walker is eeeeevil, wahwahwah!"
There may be signatures from all 72 counties. So what? What really matters is how many of them are valid, and how many people will come out to vote.
The ball has been dropped.
Commence firing. (Metaphorically of course.)
It will be great to see the lefties laud the wonders of a guy who ran up a 15 trillion dollar deficit
Wow, 14 trillion all on his own huh?
Poor choice of words. I meant to say ran it up to 15 trillion. Thanks for the correction.
Your side is still screwed.
Why can't a conservative run as a Democrat, split the vote and win a plurality and then drop out?
After their big celebration and driving a semi full of recall petitions to the GAB yesterday, how do they follow up for an encore?
Kathleen Falk announcing her candidacy on YouTube.
You cant make this stuff up.
Wow, 14 trillion all on his own huh?
About 6 trillion of it is.
Nobody has done that much. Ever.
Falk majored in Philosophy as an undergrad and does not appear to have any private sector work experience so she is just what a librul doctor would order.
Statement released by Governor Walker's communication person:
"Kathleen Falk's announcement today comes as no surprise, as we have long anticipated she would be the nominee hand-picked by big-government, public employee union bosses. Falk has already lost two statewide elections, failing to earn the trust of Wisconsin voters. Governor Walker's record of success and progress will stand in stark contrast to Falk's intent to take Wisconsin back to the days of record job loss, massive deficits, and double digit tax increases.
Falk's record as Dane County executive falls in lockstep with a Madison liberal ideology that is far outside the mainstream of the majority of Wisconsinites."
Nailed it.
And pleeeeze, let there be a multi-candidate primary. Pleeeeze pleeeze!
I think results from Falk's tenure as Dane County executive match or exceed Walker's tenure in Milwaukee County. So it's not like Walker et al can attack that part of her record, so of course they'll just say Dane County = Bad.
I picked Barrett because he reduced Milwaukee taxes by $25 million.
LOL!
Now that was funny.
After watching her little video, it's hard to imagine a politician more delusional and out of touch with reality. I think she would make the perfect Democrat candidate.

Agree. I'd never seen her before. First impression? Vulcan. She can fix that though.
First impression? Vulcan.
I was thinking more along the lines of Klingon.
Less talk, more action. Time to volunteer. http://www.kathleenfalk.com/
If there is one thing Kathleen Falk is good at, it's hyperbole.
Thanks for the reminder Steve. I just sent a little more money to scottwalker.org.
The feel I get is that now that the Democrats/unionists have to actually send up a candidate and propose actions, vs just bashing Governor Walker, they aren't quite as excited.
It may be sinking in that now they have to try to sell specific actions and that may not go all that well.
Read a comment on one of the state newspaper web sites about Faulk...a Democrat complaining about all the work they did and getting 1 million signatures (sic) and all of that going to waste.
Since this whole nonsense will cost the state money, can Walker just fire some union folks to pay for this? They did want it, after all.

Seriously? In a decade of both high employment and local growth in the tax base...she raised taxes 7.9%. The like Doyle she bailed out because of the need for an additional tax increase.
Then there was the 911 debacle. Lasted for years. Two deaths.
Add all the land use issues.
Yea, her tenure. Awesome.
Scott Walker "only" had people embezzling from Veterans. I don't see how he can use that to his advantage.
("That" meaning his tenure as a Co Executive)

Incoherent.
That is her record, which will be talked about.
He on the other hand, will talk about what he's done as Gov.
Not complicated.
Scott Walker "only" had people embezzling from Veterans. I don't see how he can use that to his advantage.
Cite?
'Cause, like, the States Attorney would like to know about it.
Wisconsin Policy has a humorous piece comparing the Dem hopefuls to the Republican Presidential primary candidates.
Falk = Santorum in this analysis.
"Add all the land use issues."
And the pronounciation issues. Ever hear her say "farm-lund"?
It's hilarious!
What a schmuck.

This puts you in moron land.
Although this has been discussed more than once here....Walkers administration found out about this and started the investigation. So this is a positive.
On the other hand, he cleaned about a million dollar Democratic pension scandal, and balanced the Milwaukee County budget without raising taxes every year as a county exec. This with a hostile Democratic county board.
