It's 10:30 at night. And, your ten year old isn't home, yet.
He's out with his "babysitter?"
What happened to the idea that until your son turns 13 years of age, everything that happens is the responsibility of the parents?
You didn't know this?
What did you think Bar Mitzvah's were for? (It's a public proclamation by a 13 year old that he is now responsible for himself.)
And, since people have found out that the current pope, and the one before him, certainly knew of the rampant pedophilia within the Catholic Church. And, Paterno is a catholic man. Who was setting an example for him, that pedophilia is reported to the police?
Paterno sure took the information to the college heads! And, somebody finally took away Sandusky's locker room keys. Finally. In the year 2002. Even though he was "silently" given the axe back in 1998. With his early departure from coaching.
I don't think Paterno invented the pressures on keeping pedophilia cases silent. And, he didn't keep silent, either. He reported what he was told to the highest Penn State authorities.
The complaint that's gone missing, is the one the mom should have made. The dad? He'd have killed the guy that did something like that to his son. That's why you need the police called in.
By the way, Carol, my understanding is that these kids were orphans. But then one of them did at least have a mom. They look for weak and unprotected children. If any of these kids had a father somebody would be dead at Penn State.
I meant to say, yes, I agree with that part. Any decent father would shot the whole coaching staff at Penn State. That's the only normal thing to do in this instance, and is probably why perps go after orphans. They have some instinct that otherwise there will be a reckoning day. An activist jury would certainly look the other way, and let such an action be termed reasonable.
The Penn State Attorney asked a good question: why is Penn State paying for the defense of two perjurers (Curley and Schulz) and firing Paterno, who did what was legally correct?
Good question. I think lots more dirt and payoffs and coverups will come to light.
I agree; shut down intercollegiate sports. It has nothing to do with obtaining an education and much to do with distracting from it. The reality is that all intercollegiate athletes get favoritism so they can compete.
Were it up to me, I'd get rid of inter-high school sports as well.
You want sports? Join a community league, but stop wasting my tax dollars on this shit (and then complain how you need more money [to build a new stadium or basketball court or some other nonsense.])

At least you know moms have changed diapers in their lifetimes. They've actually looked while diapering their babies.
So how come all curiosity goes out the window?

It was necessary (reference to original post) but was it sufficient?

Joe, I know an attorney who used to work for the players' union. He said just make the college players employees; that's what they really are.
