Residents will be able to see their cars from their living rooms.
“So people with fancy cars and antiques, they will actually have a really nice view of them"..

A glass elevator that accommodates your car, taking you up to your high-rise apartment.
It's Porsche Design Tower.

I didn't read it too closely. Did they acknowledge that every single one of your neighbors will be a total dick?
Sounds like something made for Hot Wheels by Mattel.
Like a combination between the Jeffersons and Vegas. High-rise living and you can pull your T-Bird into the living room like Dan Tanna.
Another reason to keep your car clean
You know what's the difference between a porcupine and a Porsche?
With a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.
Getting tired of all these sky garage stories. Think of something new.

I can see my truck right now.
Or, I could if it wasn't dark out.
If you've been to Tokyo or most any high density Japanese city, you've seen this for decades.
Yawn
If you've been to Japan in the last 20 or so years ago - nothing new.
The totally vapid 1% of the 1%.
My prior link didn't explain much; sorry about that. Here's the "sky garage" residential building in Manhattan, at 11th Ave. & 24th St.
They must share the elevator? How sad.
Will the doorman do oil changes?
I saw something like this -- a movie on youtube I think -- about 2 or 3 years ago, maybe more. The elevator wasn't glass however.
Maybe it was quixotic's link. Too tired to check.
Sounds like idol worship still has a following. If you can afford 300K+ cars, then they need to serve a larger purpose than transportation.
...a Jetsonesque elevator that whisks residents to their condos while they are still in the driver’s seat.
That's for the 1%.
The other 99% will have their cars tipped over by a giant rack of bronto ribs.
I'm thinking that, while remote, the chance of a car fire on 46 will require some really good fire suppression systems.
Land in Miami, despite the general collapse of values, is still high enough for hire rise stuff like this to make sense.
Could be a mess at rush hour.
It sounds awesome, but yeah wouldn't it mean having to wait a long time to get home at certain times? That might be okay on the way home, but what if you need to go to work and find yourself waiting 10-15 minutes for the arm thing to grab you and your car?
Not the first. Olga Deterding had this facility in her Piccadilly, London penthouse over 40 years ago. You could step out of her Rolls Royce straight into the front room.
The Jewelers Building in Chicago did the same thing but with offices. In the 1920s.
All I can think is wow, that would make bringing groceries in a whole lot easier.
Will the doorman do oil changes?
No, but the masseuse will.
ZING!
Are you still allowed to live there if you drive a Hyundai?
