Shut up!
(Strangely, this is my second "shut up" post of the day. The first one was law-related. This one is via Andrew Sullivan. This is also my second post of the day with substantial "Big Lebowski" content. Just by chance. Luck of the draw.)

Nobody said, "Shut up", like Little Richard.
Paucity of clever shut ups. Only one I heard was "I thought my name was shut up till I was eight."
Man, I loved Tom Cruise as Les Grossman in "Tropic Thunder"!!
The guy is a little whacked, but he is a very good actor.
Cagney sez, "Shaddup!"
White Heat, 1949
Cagney here....

Wow. Was that boring. I couldn't even take the first two minutes.
But I did recognize Dustin Hoffman playing Jerry Lewis. Was that a good movie?
Hey Andrew--shut the fuck up about Palin and Trig's birth.
"But I did recognize Dustin Hoffman playing Jerry Lewis. Was that a good movie?"
LOL.
I am telling you, Carol Herman is like Mose Harper in the Searchers. The crazy person that the Indians will not kill or harm in a massacre.
Bugs does it pretty well:

No Ollie telling Stan to Shut up?
No Moe telling Curly and Larry to shut up?
Then it didn't include the best 100 shut ups.
Uncle Frank, you need to learn how to do tags but I will do it for you this time:
Bugs Bunny!
Black Eyed Peas Shut Up
What about Deniro telling Charles Grodin in "Midnight Run": "I have just two words for you: shut, the f*ck, up!"
The one who deserved it? Willie.
From Indiana Jones and the Screamer, as we call it here chez MadisonMan.
Tom Cruise is awesome. As is John Goodman.
Carol "Ditzy" Herman.."SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Thank you.
So the most memorable "shut up" lines are typically accompanied by cursing and/or obscenity? Interesting.
