Senate President Mike Ellis (R-Neenah) complained about it:
"For the first time in the history of Wisconsin politics - and you can print this - candidates are now almost irrelevant to campaigns... They have hijacked these elections - both sides. And the candidates have nothing to do with it."
But note that he's complaining about it in the context of the Republican National Committee announcing its support long
after all the heavy spending by groups — e.g., unions — supporting the Democratic candidates.
"Maybe the cavalry should have gotten here before they stormed the fort, plundered the arsenal, poisoned the well and put us in the stockade," Ellis said.

Wisconsin , the land of lakes and dairy products has morphed into the Hippodrome in Byzantium complete with racing team factions supporting either the Reds or the Blues.
Wisconsin Politics needs its own segment on ESPN so the race teams will have national coverage.
So is he complaining about too much outside money, or not enough from his side?
I'm trying to understand why Reince Priebus, former head of the Wisconsin Republican Party, has been so slow to recognize the need to get the RNC involved. Virginian Tim Kaine got the DNC involved even before the gang of fourteen fled to Chicago.

Just submitted a little "outside spending" to benefit the Wisconsin Republicans. I have to think about the future well-being of my relatives still in the state.
