"This has to be the most phenomenally stupid case that I have seen. It's unbelievable what happened here," said the D.A.
And all because of a girl...
Wezyk stood 7 to 8 feet from Cardella and asked if he was sure he wanted to be shot.
"Cardella said he was and asked Wezyk to shoot him in the back three times," the complaint says....
The complaint says, "Wezyk then shot Cardella in the arm, and Cardella immediately slumped over. He asked to be shot again, but Wezyk stated, 'I'm done.' "

That helps explain a lot about the news out of Wisconsin.
I saw that on the Sopranos.
Love makes you stupid sometimes.
But sometimes you're just born stupid.
Now that's the feminists' idea of a manly way to break up with a woman.
And it gets better: "While awaiting the outcome of this case, Woodall and Wezyk went to deliver marijuana to someone, but it turned out to be grass clippings and/or catnip. The victim complained to police."
Further evidence that voting and procreating should be regulated.
Which lead me to this page.
The story brings to mind the words of Adm. Husband E. Kimmel, senior commander at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1945, when a spent .50 cal bullet crashed through his window and struck him in the chest, but resulted in no injury:
"It would have been merciful had it killed me"
It took a team of skilled lawyers to get that dude off with probation and an expunged record after it's done.
I hope Nancy Grace doesn't complain too bitterly.
This should give Prosser the Strangler some hope for a light sentence.
There a million dumb criminal stories every day. This has been one of them...

The officer who notes the round is spent?
GD Spradlin.
A felony? The guy asked to be shot.
Why are we prosecuting these guys? What a waste of time and money. Did they break a couple of laws, sure but at bottom there is no threat to public safety here. No one was hurt against their will. This kind of case is why prosecutors have charging discretion.
If I was the prosecutor, I'd let everyone walk, on one condition: everyone involved be sterilized.
The medical treatment for the wound to his arm cost someone $10,000, and I doubt any of these guys had any money or insurance.
Think what it would have cost government if the shot had made him a paraplegic...$10,000,000 or more.
Another reason we don't need to keep sending over our human targets for use in the Taliban's training galleries deep in the Afghan Mountains.
Tradguy - and how does prosecuting them recoup those costs? Do you really thing deterrence is a needed in this case? Is there a rash of the uninsured shooting each other for love?
Superdad...The DA and the court personnel were already on salary.
The probation Dept will be paid a monthly fee.
There is probably a court cost add on and a fine too.
But the message that this sends is a deterrent that: "If you cause us trouble and we will cause you trouble...no free rides."
It works like a first offense DUI.

You must mean in Tora! Tora! Tora! right?
tradguy - and the time the judge spent on this, the time the prosecutors spent on this and the time the probation officers will spend on this can't be spent on other, actually important things that might actually make out communities safer. Our courts are backlogged with real cases, adding this kind of BS to the pile is just as stupid as what these morons did.
Also, your entire premise rests on your belief that this guy doesn't have insurance. Those facts aren't in evidence. For all you know this jerk weed has a nice factory job with benefits.

Absorutery.
Superdad,

At *this* level of stupidity, they may be officials of the WEA.
Superdad...You argue well. I should surrender.
But fixed costs need a high volume of traffic.
And probation red tape teaches the lesson that men with guns are nearby watching you the next time you think that a stupid, to the immoral level, act looks free of consequences.
Now get back out there and protect that last remaining high paid factory job in captivity. Sorry to have bothered you.
I like the story some years ago about the guy who was shooting out the tires of women in Pennsylvania on the freeway and then he'd show up and ask if they needed any help with their car trouble!
Probably had a better success rate too.
But the message that this sends is a deterrent that: "If you cause us trouble and we will cause you trouble...no free rides."
Is that really the message free people should get from their government? Not to cause "trouble"?
But the message that this sends is a deterrent that: "If you cause us trouble and we will cause you trouble...no free rides."
"I *was* going to have you shoot me three times in the back until I found out I might have to do 100 hours of community service for it."
There are people having that thought, are there? Hm.

Ha!
Edutcher:
Would that have been in 1941, or did you really mean 1945. Don't see how it could have had anything to do with Tora! Tora! Tora! if it was in 1945.
The best part of the Darwin Awards is, they are entirely voluntary.
Are these citizens also registered voters?
On Wisconsin...

I put 1945 actually, it was a brain fart. 1941 of course.
