Well, it could be like that mom that made claims she paid for surgery for her young child for beauty contests, only to later recant and claim she was paid to say so.
The little girl will someday pay for a therapist's exotic vacation or new home addition.

I preferred to think that the endless and unsuccessful years of marital counseling I paid for were sending a deserving child to college.
