2. "... Rand Paul projected by CNN to win his Senate race in Kentucky and another conservative, Dan Coats, projected to win the Senate race in Indiana."
3. "I'm more comfortable with Fox," say I, after watching CNN for a while and then switching.
4. Oh, CNN is better. Better graphics. Lots of people saying things. Annoying much of the time, but more detail. Mary Matalin enthusing about Portman winning in Ohio, a state Obama won.
5. DeMint already making his victory speech. Kitty Dukakis in trouble for seeming like "a walking billboard."
6. CNN says Coons wins. We won't have Christine O'Donnell to kick around anymore.
7. Rubio! David Gergen enthuses about "a Republican Latino with star power."
8. "Wow, the first time one of the fictional Althouse characters actually had a complete story arc! Bravo!" (Scroll up.)
9. It's so sad for the Democrats. They gave us so many things. Gifts. Expensive gifts. That we didn't want. That they bought with our money.
10. Tim Kaine blabs on and on, making a happy face. Eventually, Wolf Blitzer cuts hims off with "It's going to be a long night for you.
11. CNN's music for tonight is the same (or just close) to what was used in the HBO John Adams series. It's about the Framers, no? As the Tea Party clinches it.
12. Drudge says: "REPUBLICANS WIN SENATE SEATS: AL, FL, GA, IN, OH, KY, MO, NH, SC... DEMS WIN: CT, DE, MD... TOO CLOSE TO CALL: PA, IL..." Hey, what happened to California? Earlier he was calling it for Boxer.
13. Manchin. "Huge win" for the Democrats, says Wolf Blitzer, about the hot West Virginia race.
14. The GOP takes the House. It's outside of the margin of error, says NBC. Pelosi is gone. Ding dong. [UPDATE: Now MSNBC is calling that "a mistake." MSNBC is awful.]
15. NBC says Wisconsin is "too close to call," as the polls close.
16. Rand Paul victory speech: "I have a message! A message from the people of Kentucky! A message that is loud and clear and does not mince words! We've come to take our government back!"
17. MSNBC is hilarious. They're near meltdown. Rand Paul will destroy America. The Republicans "salivate at the thought" of worldwide economic collapse.
18. O'Donnell conceding. Very cheerful. Chirpy. I listened to Marco Rubio's victory speech a few minutes ago, which was, by contrast, very mellow.
19. Scott Walker has, it seems, won the Governorship here in Wisconsin. That's supposed to mean — that must mean — no to the high-speed train boondoggle. Also in Wisconsin, Russ Feingold is way behind.
20. Feingold has lost, quite decisively. I'm sorry to see him go. He's a good man. But I should admit that I voted against him. I had to vote for the Party of No.
21. Geraldine Ferraro and Sarah Palin appear side-by-side on Fox News, analyzing the elections, denouncing sexism, and then ending on this adorable, ultra-girlie note:
22. Screen shot:
23. I just thought that was amusing, the way YouTube inserted my face into the Fox News. By the way, did you notice, at the end of the clip, when Geraldine said she wanted to go on "Dancing with the Stars," Sarah said "I'll hook you up"?
24. John Boehner tears up talking about American values, which he's chased all his life. Then, talking about his business, he sobs. Keep it together, Boehnsy!
25. That got a little... weird. I hope Boehnsy is ready to lead. Anyway, here in Dane County, Feingold's campaign manager George Aldrich is not giving up: "Russ is down by 80,000 votes, but...up to 1.4 million votes haven’t been counted." None of the Madison votes were in when he said that: "We are confident that this race is going to tighten, it is going to tighten quickly, and we may be in for a long night here."
25. Over at Drudge, it's the 3 Rs:
Rubio, Rand, and Ron.
26. Charles Krauthammer on Fox News: "The Obama agenda is dead." The Democrats have retained the Senate, apparently, but, looking forward to 2012, they will, self-defensively, distance themselves from Obama — says the Kraut.
27. Feingold has conceded. NYT:
Quoting Bob Dylan, he said, "My heart is not weary, it's light and free, and I've got nothing but affection for those who have sailed with me."The Times misses that "Forward" is the state motto. And maybe that "fist in the air" was posing as the Wisconsin "Forward" statue.
It is not clear what he will do next, but Mr. Feingold, 57, told the crowd: "It's on to the next fight, it's on to the next battle, it's on to 2012 and it is on to our next adventure, forward." He raised his fist in the air and left the stage.
28. Karl Rove exclaims that he's "exhausted." I was just saying he looked tired.
29. Speaking of tired, it's interesting that Harry Reid will be sticking around. There's something so dreary about him. Does his victory cheer Democrats? Or would they have had more fun kicking Sharron Angle around?
30. I'm tired too. See you in the morning.

Senator Rand Paul.
Nothing like a good old Democrat Party bloodletting.

Russ Feingold: FIRED!
It's a good day for free speech and the First Amendment today when Americans' leading enemy of the Bill of Rights is handed his ass.
Thank You American Patriots of Wisconsin! You did the right thing and you strengthened America today.
God Bless you and yours.
Now all we have to do is not fuck it up this time. Yeah I'm talking to you Boehner.
I've got my Slurpee ready!
"Now all we have to do is not fuck it up this time. Yeah I'm talking to you Boehner."
I said that exact same thing on my last date, but I spelled it's name different.
There's something almost oxymoronic about "Senator Rand Paul" . . . I hope he surmounts that.
Yay Head Stompers.
bagoh20 for the win.
Watching "Bagdhad Bob" Pelosi announce on ABCNews that Democrats are "on pace to maintain the majority in the House of Representatives" has to be the highlight of the 2010 election season.
What an asshat. I mean, how embarassing.
These people leading the Democrats are truly out of touch with what is happening around them.
It's a "historic" evening, once again!
I said that exact same thing on my last date, but I spelled it's name different.
ROTFLMAO!!!
That's "shoulder stomper," singular, Garage. FIFY.
"Yay Head Stompers."
Don't go away angry, Garage.
Just go away.
The times they are a changing, fast. From now on "snow Machines" are not sidewalk clearing blowers but racers. Old Bastards are no longer words of vulgarity but of political boasting. And America's Politico may soon be hired to ghostwrite Refudiating comments on Daily Kos for the Palin Campaign.
Love the expression on harry Reid's face in that clip. Oh...sorry....
Yay Head Stompers.
"Are you crying? Are you crying? ARE YOU CRYING? There's no crying! THERE IS NO CRYING IN BASEBALL -- !!!"
No, I think Garage is on to something. The Democrats should be left in power no matter what the damage to the country. To do otherwise is to reward violence against women. If you vote Republican, then you're a misogynistic head stomper.
Everybody knows that.
Don't care if the republicans screw up - we can vote them out of office, too. Notice has been served.
We are conservative, not republican.
Guys, I think tonight we are witnessing the meltdown of the left on Althouse. I mean "head stompers" just reeks of desperation and mania.
In regards to Drudge publishing the exit poll calling Cali for Boxer:
Polls don't close in Cali till 8:00 pm PT, and supposedly a record number of Californians voted by mail.
How do you "exit poll" a mail-in ballot?
Love how he got that published in time to suppress the on the way home from work vote.
Nice choice of viddy.
Fellow grave dancers:
In 1994, Clinton looked politically dead. Yet in 1996 he was elected again, and by a comfortable margin.
Things can change fast.
Ask Obama.
Or George Herbert Walker Bush.
The tears of Democrats sustain me.
Garage, Ritmo, FLS, and 1jpb's are especially sweet.
Heh...CNN said that Barron Hill's district is a bellweather for the nation and if he loses its going to be ugly for the Democrats across the board.
Well I'm not in Hill's district but suffice it to say if I was, to paraphrase the estemmed garage mahal, I'd swim a river of piss and vinegar thrown in to campaign for Todd Young.
David - GHWB was tone deaf in 1992. Clinton triangulated to win re-election. Obama is tone-deaf and steadfastly refused to compromise one iota. Based on that, he's toast in 2012.
I love this:
With just a few hours before polls start closing around the country, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats will keep their majority in the House.
I mean that kind of denial is right up there with: "There are no American troops in Bagdahd!!"
I think she might actually crack up tonight.
With just a few hours before polls start closing around the country, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats will keep their majority in the House.
Mayor and First Citizen of Fuckingcrazytown.
Republicans Win Senate Seats in AL, FL, IN, OH, KY, MO, NH, SC...
Eight, so far!
"We are conservative, not republican."
And we'll take out Republicans just as quickly as we take out Democrats.
Americans are serving notice:
* We want our fucking taxes cut
* We want government salaries slashed
* We want government employees forced to use Social Security (including Congress).
* We want government pensions eliminated
* We want government bonuses ceased
* We want non-essential spending on the Arts/NPR and other bullshit research like global warming at colleges stopped until unemployment returns to normal levels.
* Don't touch Social Security (we paid for that out of our paychecks).
* Don't touch Medicare (we paid for that out of our paychecks).
* ObamaCare must be repealed in its entirety.
* GM is to be returned to private hands and its former owners made whole. Chrysler too.
* Banks must repay all bailout funds.
And that's just to start. New Republican Congressional committees must immediately launch investigations of the Department of Justice and of Barack Obama.
Barack Obama committed felony crimes in his efforts to pass ObamaCare and it is time for the Congress to begin fundamental oversight of the Executive Branch by empanelling Grand Juries and forcing testimony.
The President of the United States is not above the law.
"Garage, Ritmo, FLS, and 1jpb's are especially sweet."
Whatever floats your boat, incl a sea of tears (even if they're only imagined tears).
I hope this thread doesn't turn into a blather fest focused on how the "other side" is so devastated, so "our side" is happy.
Presumably, there are more substantive reasons to be happy. It may even be appropriate to focus on making sure the Rs don't screw y'all, again.
I mean that kind of denial is right up there with: "There are no American troops in Bagdahd!!"
What was speaker Boehner saying in public in early November 2006?
I honestly don't recall, but would wager it was something similar.
I mean that kind of denial is right up there with: "There are no American troops in Bagdahd!!"
it is embarrassing, I mean, there isn't one pollster in the country that's called it for the Dems, since like, forever. At least just say "it will be a tough fight", and leave it at that .
"Things can change fast. Ask Obama. Or George Herbert Walker Bush."
Or Lincoln. Or Garfield. Or McKinley.
What was speaker Boehner saying in public in early November 2006?
I honestly don't recall, but would wager it was something similar.
Well you won't see me defending Boner either. Hell I wouldn't swim a lap in the kiddie pool for him.
Or Lincoln. Or Garfield. Or McKinley.
I'm just going to say that even for a dickhead moby, that's just a stupid thing to say. Seriously go play in the litter box with the rest of the turds.
Rubio! David Gergen enthuses about "a Republican Latino with star power."
A Christie/Rubio ticket, come 2012... hmmmmmmm... ;)
Republicans Win Senate Seats in AL, FL, IN, OH, KY, MO, NH, SC...

Republican Charlie Christ: FIRED! for voting with Democrats and embracing ObamaCare.
Mitt Romney? Are you paying attention? We're coming for you next!
Thank you Florida Republicans! You've strengthened your political party by removing from it a closeted Democrat.
Welcome to the United States Senate Marco Rubio!
The following meme is already developing in the MSM: newly minted Republicans must find the middle ground!..reach across the aisle!..govern responsibly!..in a bipartisan manner!..why hell, be good Democrats!
OK that's weird Drudge took down the Cali exit call for Boxer.
I tried watching PMSNBC for a few minutes, had to change the channel; I found them all to be loathesome. All about Republican purges and their glorious victory over Christine O'Donnell. Hope they enjoyed it. It's gonna be one of the few races that go their way tonight.
"What was speaker Boehner saying in public in early November 2006?
I honestly don't recall, but would wager it was something similar."
Why would Boehner have anything to say? He wasn't Speaker in 2006. If I recall Dennis Hastert was Speaker.
Nancy Pelosi, get out of my fucking jet....
and take that giant fuckin' gavel with you.
I think she might actually crack up tonight.
That makes me see her face cracking and the creature within the chrysalis coming out...
OK that's weird Drudge took down the Cali exit call for Boxer.
Might have been too slanted to urban exit polls?
A Christie/Rubio ticket, come 2012
Yummy.
Hillary Clinton builds on Bill Clinton's fairy tale analogy:
"It's like Goldilocks ... It's too hot, it's too cold, it's not right," she added. "So they send a message to the new president by voting out members of Congress of his party."
If you want to see what Pelosi looks like after she comes out of the cocoon, just watch the end of Coraline.
Nancy Pelosi, get out of my fucking jet....
All my bags are packed...link
Hold it - did Gergen say anything about a tingle up his leg?
Hey! They're calling it for Coons but I can't find numbers on Fox or CNN. What's the deal?
No Republican Senate majority.
The California votes seem likely to return Barbara Boxer, based on Drudge's leaked exit polls.
That just astonishes me. How can they possibly reelect that twit?
Six more years of Calling Her Senator.

"Hey! They're calling it for Coons but I can't find numbers on Fox or CNN. What's the deal?"
The deal is that she was a lousy candidate.
Nice woman. I'd love to meet her. But she was a weak candidate, with lots of ways of making herself look silly.
"Six more years of Calling Her Senator."
She worked hard. She earned that title. And it's a good thing for Republicans.
We need a few good punch lines to remain in the Senate. Makes 2012 that much easier having a few gasbags supplying campaign fodder.
"... did Gergen say anything about a tingle up his leg?"
No, but I just heard Chris Matthews complain about a trickle down his leg.
Jim_J, you're right of course. How quickly one forgets Hastert.
I think my statement would work with Hastert as well, especially since people were running away from him in 2006 just as much as away from Pelosi this year.
"OK that's weird Drudge took down the Cali exit call for Boxer.
Might have been too slanted to urban exit polls?"
Much more likely, Carley's people screamed bloody murder about suppressing her vote.
David,
Not saying she didn't lose - but all the other races have numbers. There are no numbers for that race but they've projected the winner. Is there another site that's got some numbers?
"Hey! They're calling it for Coons but I can't find numbers on Fox or CNN. What's the deal?"
Yeah, they called Florida for President Gore, too.
I'm staying tuned to MSNBC just to see their faces when they call the Wisconsin Senate race. It should be priceless.
"Is there another site that's got some numbers?"
Yes ... www.diebold.com
They have all the numbers.
Fox just posted some numbers - 65% to Coons.
OK that's weird Drudge took down the Cali exit call for Boxer.
Calling the race so early just makes me crazy. It is only 5:30 right now and they had it up since about 3:30 and the polls don't close for another 2 1/2 hours. Even after that it takes some time to get the ballots down to the county seat and be tabulated.
For Christ's sake, let the people VOTE before you call the election.
Burr has kept his seat - this is good. I think he is the first NC senator to be reelected to that seat since '74.
Now Elaine Marshall can look for work as a Botox czar or something.
Sadly, Bob "Who are yew?" Etheridge has been reelected.
David Price will have to start looking for votes under sofa cushions to keep his seat, which means he will in fact be reelected. Pity, that.
" ...when they call the Wisconsin Senate race. It should be priceless."
Feingold FIRED! I'm calling this one now ... fully 30 minutes ahead of NBC.
As it should be. Any Senator attaching their name to laws designed to strip Americans of their God-given right of free speech deserve to have their asses kicked out of the United States Senate.
Russ Feingold is an embarrassment to the nation and everything our founding fathers died for and our grandfathers fought for. The Supreme Court had to step in and stop him from abusing the very document he swore an oath to protect and to serve.
The people of Wisconsin have strengthened their nation today and they should be proud that they stepped up and did the right thing and gave that douche-bag a pink slip.
Thank you Wisconsin! American patriots across the nation salute you!

And we'll take out Republicans just as quickly as we take out Democrats.
I don't know why conservatives keep saying this as "we will", i.e., future tense.
Conservatives already "took out" Republicans in 2006 and 2008. The misbehavior of Republican politicians so demoralized conservatives that they stayed home in droves, or even made protest votes. The result was a lopsided battle, with a motivated Democrat base and a hollowed out Republican base. But it also demonstrated, at least to those who paid attention: conservative numbers matter.
Then in 2009, they started to see the results of dropping out. Yes, they punished the RINOs, but they empowered the Obamas and Pelosis and Reids, thus punishing themselves as well.
And with the right inspirations and motivations, they realized that dropping out was not an effective mode of protesting. Instead of dropping out, they dropped in, organizing and participating at record levels of enthusiasm.
And tonight we see the results.
The question now is: do they become sated by the victory? Or do they recognize that this is an eternal vigiliance campaign, and they have to stay just as watchful now as they have for the last 18 months?
The conservatives already unseated Republicans passively -- and in primaries this year, they unseated several actively. If they can manage to stay vigilant, they can have a serious influence on 2012 and beyond. If instead they say, "We did our job, we're done," then 2010 will be a blip, and the Democrats will regain their ground in 2012.
The MSNBC panel is like a bad SNL skit without laugh lines.
Martin Shoemaker, ++
Sources are reporting the the Congressional medical team has been summoned to Speaker Pelosi's office to re-shape her face into a "look of concern".
I hope Joy Behar's head explodes tonight.
On my profile, you'll find the following under "favorite movies:"
"The collapse of the left in 2009: A documentary - and - Part II: The self-immolation of 2010."
I wrote that in late 2008. I didn't really expect it to be so prophetic. It seems Ann was right to vote for Obama after all. He followed the script perfectly.
Now if you fine free people in the rest of the nation could just invade California and free us like the Iraqis, It would be much appreciated.
Daniel Webster (R) defeats the vile Alan Grayson (D-I) in Florida CD-8. Good riddance!
Garage: As I said on an earlier thread, tonight you will witness a real stomping. Not a foot push but a stomp. Followed by a stomp. Followed by a stomp. Etc.
I recommend an ice cold beer and a continuous loop of "Ohio."
Blanche Lincoln: FIRED!
When you vote to force Americans to buy insurance products from your campaign donors, you can expect the American people to fire your ass. That's the lesson Blanche Lincoln should take away from today.
Blanche Lincoln sold out her constituents because she sold her soul. She forgot who sent her to Washington DC and it wasn't that fucking Geico Gecko.
It was American voters.
And we will not be forced into slavery by being forced to purchase things.
ObamaCare must now be repealed in its entirety. And if Republicans can't manage that feat, then the Tea Party will gladly take up the mantle of power.
One of the world's biggest scumbags and biggest cancers in American politics just got fired tonight. Popping the first bottle.
Fuck you Alan Grayson. Seriously. FUCK YOU!
It's pretty funny that some of the cons here like watching MSNBC squirm.
Sadists!!!
If this is a common "thing" for cons, today may be MSNBC's best ratings ever. Irony.
Ham - I tried the diebold site but didn't see anywhere election results might be reported.
Any update regarding the synchronized swimming on in the great river of piss?
" ... to re-shape her face into a "look of concern"."
Check out picture number 4 on MSNBC right now. Baghdad Bob Pelosi is in full-on meltdown.
It's hilarious. The forced smile as American Marines yank down her statue with a chain attached to a tank is priceless!
Any update regarding the synchronized swimming on in the great river of piss?
No call for piss-for-brains vs Russ Feingold yet, no.
Watching MSNBC talk about the Arkansas Senate Race. They think the reason Blanche lost is because of the primary challenge and she got challenged in the primary because she wasn’t liberal enough! Hahahahahahahaah!!! I guess they didn’t call anybody in Arkansas first. Hee!!!
Basically everything they've said about Arkansas has gotten it wrong. Fun.
"Ham - I tried the diebold site but didn't see anywhere election results might be reported."
They're still making up the numbers. Patience.
1jpb: Watching MSNBC to see the creativity of excuse making. Real time.
Florida 22 County Results » 2 of 422 Precincts Reporting
Party Candidate V% Votes
R Allen West 57% 38,401
D Ron Klein* 43% 28,962
Early but not a bad start.
Just another 10 minutes until the Wisconsin calls are made.
Sweet.....House Democrats are falling like dominoes.
Ham - I was wondering if that's what you meant.
Alan Grayson consumes fecal matter, expires.
Good riddance.
Grayson's loss is making Olbermann stammer.
I'm gonna take a nap. Be back in 3 hours.
Yea, Allen West. One of many very deserving wins tonight. I think my donation pushed him over the top.
"Grayson's loss is making Olbermann stammer."
No more under-desk blowjobs during "Worst Person of the World."
Bummer for Olby. He'll have to resort to giving himself a hand-y.
What right wing sites I have dropped in on this evening are loving MSNBC coverage. Some of the best entertainment they have seen in years.
I don't think it's going to last, but right now Steny Hoyer is running behind Charles Lollar.
Lollar is a Black Republican, and the Mason-Dixon line is the North boundary of Maryland. So I think as more precincts come it will move back to Hoyer.
But right now I'm a very happy camper.
What I really want to know is where are all the videos of pipe-wielding brothers "protecting" the polls?
Seems like the Nation of Islam decided to take the night off. Which is, I guess, a bummer for Hussein. This is no doubt how Republicans are winning so many seats. Fraud at unguarded polls.
Going to vote now. Voting in California can be depressing for a conservative, but tonight I'm just going to consider myself the smartest guy in the room. Kinda like channeling my inner Libertarian. Be back to the party in a jiffy.
Polls are now closed in Wisconsin.
"Fighting Bob" LaFollette must be turning in his grave.
wv: messed ..What Garage Mahal did to his pants when he heard the WI results.
David, I can give you an answer why Californian's may re-elect Barbara Boxhead. Primarily, it's because the freeloaders and pension hungry union pukes outnumber the rest of us who have to work our asses off just to pay the bills for the rest of them. We're outnumbered, pure and simple. And when the "gimme's" outnumber the "get it myselfs" you get Boxhead.
I've said it before. She was so offended by the General referring to her as "Ma'am" because she doesn't believe in truth in advertising. The word "ma'am" is a contraction of "madam", and considering the whorehouse that the U.S. Senate is, I think the title for Boxhead is entirely appropriate. She just found the shots from the General a little too close to home.
Like my late grandpa used to say, "Son, it doesn't take all kinds, we just HAVE all kinds."
Wise man.
Dear Florida,
You've already given America the forced retirement of subhuman monster Allan Grayson and the start of the national career of future president Marco Rubio. As a token of gratitude, we'll forgive you for Ed Hardy t-shirts.
If you give us Allen West as well, we will forgive you for your massive role in the mortgage crisis.
Give us Rick Scott and we'll forgive you for all the fanny packs in the Orlando airport.
Love,
Everyone
I hear rumors Barney Frank is behind* in early numbers.
* please, no PUN-ishment.
On the other hand, it looks Barney Frank will be back to stir up more Fannie and Freddi-inspired meltdowns.
Manchin is a good guy, and West Virginians approved of him by a very large majority all through the race. It was only by running hard AGAINST the current Administration and Congress that he pulled it out.
Obviously good for the Democrats, but Obama and the Senate Democrats shouldn't expect him to be a "yes" man. I think Manchin has long-term aspirations for the top job, and it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't make a good run at it.
Whoa...
At 9:04 p.m. Eastern, the CBS projection calls the House 149 R, 96 D, so that's not quite half the races called.
The Republicans currently hold 179. So they're within 30 of their "starting point", with more than half the races left to call.
I'm starting to wonder if a 50 point gain is a low estimate.
Then in 2009, they started to see the results of dropping out. Yes, they punished the RINOs, but they empowered the Obamas and Pelosis and Reids, thus punishing themselves as well.
No. The GOP empowered the Obamas and Pelosis and Reids. By not sticking to their principles, by believing they only had to be a lesser of two evils to get by.
Screw that. The GOP has gotten its wake-up call: last chance, if you screw it up, you'll be the 3rd party, not us.
Its past time that voting GOP only meant the frog would be boiled more slowly.
@Fred, we've cross-posted. With 35% of the precincts posted Frank's ahead by 63% - 35%
Except for Scott Brown, Massachusetts will be all blue.
Can we give it away to Canada?
"I hear rumors Barney Frank is behind*"
Barney loves come from behind victories.
"and the start of the national career of future president Marco Rubio"
How much more than half of the Florida voters will be responsible for this "start," when everything is counted?
@Mark, Manchin's most famous ad featured him using his own hunting rifle to shoot holes in a copy of the Cap & Trade bill.
I don't think he's going to vote for Cap & Trade.
I wonder who will be minority leader. Certainly Pelosi is going to be shown the door, I hope.
I'm encouraged that the WI Senate race is close. I won't be devastated like many people I know if Feingold loses, but if Feingold loses and Reid and Boxer survive, that's very bad for the country.
I'm watching Rand Paul's speech about self-reliance and getting the government out of our way on PMSNBC. Olbie's gotta be gritting his teeth!
"Except for Scott Brown, Massachusetts will be all blue."
Except for Barney's checkbook ... which is in the red for 200 large. That's how much he had to cough up to keep his seat.
Just forcing him to have to write that check was something of a victory for all sane Massachusetts voters.
FOX is now projecting +60 for the House. I hope they lowballed it.
Fox Projecting the GOP takes the House!!! Yay!! Buh-bye Pelosi!
"I wonder who will be minority leader. Certainly Pelosi is going to be shown the door ..."
Didn't you hear? Democrats are "on pace to maintain the majority in the House of Representatives" according to House Majority Leader Baghdad Bob Pelosi.
"FOX is now projecting +60 for the House."
I predict Ace is testicle-deep in pudding by about now.
"How much more than half of the Florida voters will be responsible for this "start," when everything is counted?"
Not sure what your point is, but winning a 3-way race with 50% is pretty impressive. Viva Rubio!
Russ holding extraordinarily well with the Reality Based Community.
Taking a LOT longer than you wished ain't it wingers.
What's going on? Wisconsin is on to this fool?
LOL
GarageLibtard, we won, you lost. Get over it bitch.
your words, not mine. Now eat them.
I'm not worried...the exit polls says Feingold loses by at least 7 points.
Someone explain to me how luke-warm-IQ Boxer isn't getting thrashed.
Update From Chicago
From Chicago Board of Elections:
We're seeing 50.36% turnout in the City of Chicago from the first 919 precincts of the City's 2,570 precincts that now have unofficial totals. The unofficial totals we report tonight represent Election Day voting, Early Voting, Grace Period Voting and Absentee ballots received through Saturday. Absentee ballots received more recently (Monday, Tuesday, etc.) will be added in supplemental counts to be conducted later this week.
By the time later-arriving absentee ballots, provisionals and other ballots arrive and are counted, the City turnout number is likely to move closer to 51-52%.
And the results in Chicago:
With 54% of precincts reporting:
U.S. Senate (R) Mark Steven Kirk: 72,755- 20.72 % (D) Alexander ''Alexi'' Giannoulias: 264,677- 75.39 %
Almost a 200,000 vote advantage for Giannoulias-the D is at close to 76%.
Comment from old Republican campaigner:
Kirk is getting screwed.
"Taking a LOT longer than you wished ain't it wingers."
No. Feingold's slow death is actually preferable.
Allows me to enjoy it with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

" ...explain to me how luke-warm-IQ Boxer isn't getting thrashed."
Cuz she's a butch dyke?
Baghdad Nancy Pelosi: FIRED!
Deemed passed on. Hit the road, you fucking cunt.
"Someone explain to me how luke-warm-IQ Boxer isn't getting thrashed."
Both Brown and Boxer went almost exclusively negative the last few weeks, and Fiorina was especially thrashed by former HP employees talking about how she cut jobs and shipped jobs overseas.
Unfortunately, it didn't quite connect that the reason California has such a negative jobs situation is because of almost complete Democratic domination, and now I think it is complete. This isn't just a partisan distinction. Because of being a non-competitive state all manner of all the wrong sorts of any party get in and stay in.
I'm a sixth generation Californian. But, I just don't see any positive benefit for staying here anymore. Far too expensive cost of living, far too high taxes, out of control and overly established, gerrymandered secured legislature. Celebrate America, mourn for us.
Of course, now that America's Politico's life is over wherever he lives, I think he might be one of the few to make a successful life for himself here.
"Not sure what your point is"
My point is that Rs may want to think twice before they convince themselves that Crist is an evil RINO.
You may need his voters, someday.
Ooooh, Kasich just pulled ahead...
Garage: I agree that the Pelosi statement was stunning in its stupidity. You are exactly right about the way she should have responded.
West by God kept KKK Byrd in the senate since just after reconstruction. That they continue to vote "democrat" is no surprise.
Marco Rubio just gave a great victory speech.
Calling PA for Sestak...about 35% of precints reporting w/Sestak having over a 10% advantage.
These early calls always amaze me. CBS is calling the Michigan Governor's race for Rick Snyder, but with only 11-12% of precincts reporting.
wv: sanes. Once again, the algorithm has a sense of humor.
Now the PMSNBC'ers are having to listen to Marco Rubio. I wonder how much their panel's blood pressure went up collectively as they listened to his speech? Olbie's head looks like it's about to explode.
I think it's telling that the media outlets are just discovering that the Tea Party is a hydra with no clear head, though it has figures that would speak for it. Months of insulting "tea bagging" are giving way to 40% support by voters, and the media is caught looking at the pitch.
Since I couldn't remember if Sestak is a (D) or an (R), I googled him. Some headlines: CNN Exit Poll: Pat Toomey Beats Joe Sestak In Pennsylvania Senate ....Toomey predicts big win in Pennsylvania...etc.
I'm in NY. The talk right now is that if Harry Reid loses his seat, the re-elected Chuck Schumer will be the new Senate Majority Leader.
CNN says 8% WI is in with Johnson leading Feingold 58% to 41%
The GOP too. Democrat Bob Beckel is on FOX now saying the GOP establishment squandered the chance to pick up 90+ instead of 60+. And he's right.
O'D is on PMS (as y'all call it).
She's not nearly as adorable as she was this morning.
But she is talking about how she place demands on the winner when she called him. She's so cute. Even losing doesn't convince her that she hasn't won.
That's a real winner. A winner inside. Like Pelosi.
The WHITE NO COLLEGE demographic they keep showing is especially telling. I haven't yet seen BLACK NO COLLEGE or LATINO NO COLLEGE or NO COLLEGE or WENT TO GRAD SCHOOL WITH TINGLES.
"My point is that Rs may want to think twice before they convince themselves that Crist is an evil RINO.
You may need his voters, someday."
Fair enough, but I certainly wasn't and I don't think anyone was/is disparaging Crist voters, just Crist himself.
I'm so surprised that Christine O'Donnell didn't win. Perhaps if Althouse had only mounted a more strident case for this fine woman, witchcraft, rather than Marxism would mark the U.S. Senate. But no, Althouse had to decide to throw her under the bus.
You guys are so disappointing.
Sarah Palin's protege, constitutional scholar Christine O'Donnell, got trounced. See ya!
It's too bad Vitter won, by the way. Just what the Senate doesn't need: A nakedly hypocritical lawmaker. Well, the people of Louisiana have spoken. Or maybe the Democratic Party of Louisiana picked a dud to run against him.
It wasn't looking good, but Oklahoma pulls it out, and bans Sharia law. Another check for freedom.
Ah, let's not weep for America's Politico too soon. McMahon lost, a disappointment but not a surprise, and Manchin has won, which is also a disappointment but not a surprise. But Kirk is running behind and Toomey and Buck are getting walloped, despite pre-election polls that had shown all three with slight leads in the final polls. He could be right on as far as the Senate is concerned.
I'm still expecting a 70 seat pickup for Republicans in the House, and Lollar is still hanging onto a lead over Steny Hoyer, but things do not look good for the Senate.
CNN says 8% WI is in with Johnson leading Feingold 58% to 41%
Kirk: Bones, how is garage? Can you help him?
McCoy: Damn it Jim I'm a doctor not a miracle worker!
RitmoLibtard: Perhaps if Althouse had only mounted a more strident case for this fine woman
Exit polls show white women abandoned the Dems in droves.
So keep bashing the women, Ritmo. We're already looking to 2012.
Scott M.
Brilliant!
HOnestly, O'Donnell would have stood a good chance if Althouse had only decided not to throw her under the bus.
O'Donnell concedes, that's one less pussy to gnaw at PinchingLoaf's worried brain tonight... Phew! Those pussies are so damned scary!
MadisonMan: It's too bad Vitter won, by the way. Just what the Senate doesn't need: A nakedly hypocritical lawmaker.
At least we agree on something.
Maybe the Tea Party can take him out next time.
Exit polls show white women abandoned the Dems in droves.
In Delaware? What percentage of the population do you think Delaware men comprise? 90%?
Is it possible for you to stop being a retard for, like, 30 seconds or so?
And can I just say I'm happy FOX has Dems like Bob Beckel on their panels. I rarely agree with him, but at least he keeps us honest.
CNN says 10% WI is in with Johnson leading Feingold 58% to 41%
Obviously O'Donnell would have won in a landslide if only it weren't for the misogynist/anti-woman vote.
Sounds like you're onto something with that one, Fen.
how is garage
Not liking the margin of the gov race so far, and obviously hoping not everyone voted for straight line party.
Spock: Captain, Ensign Ritmo requests permission to join the away team.
Kirk: Ensign Ritmo? Is he new to the crew of the Enterprise?
Spock: Yes Captain. That's him over there, in the red shirt.
Kirk: By all means have him along.
Exit polls show white women abandoned the Dems in droves.
RitmoLintard: In Delaware? What percentage of the population do you think Delaware men comprise? 90%?
All over the country, idiot. Your side fell for the oldest play in the book - you turned these women into a lightning rod that shocked every Dem candidate in America. Thanks!
And can I just say I'm happy FOX has Dems like Bob Beckel on their panels. I rarely agree with him, but at least he keeps us honest.
Lord knows there are people who can take as much help as they can get with that.
Ritmo: Obviously O'Donnell would have won in a landslide if [snip]
He still doesn't get it. He's still swinging at O'Donnell.
This is fun. Do it again Libtard.
Thanks for all the updates Meade.
But, folks will be able to celebrate the demise of so-called evil Feingold soon enough.
You don't want to be premature.
Boehner would suffer from being too early.
Tom Perriello has lost in VA-5. This was a guy Obama had personally campaigned for. Also looks like VA-11 has gone Republican for the first time since Noah built the Ark. It's in the southwestern corner of the state, which is coal-mining country. Apparently the Democrat incumbent thought he could explain his vote for Cap & Trade.
Guess he thought wrong.
KTVA fires two producers involved in "let's find a child molester" controversy.
Yeah, MSNBC reminded me of those Dr. Strangelove scenes where he tries futilely to control his hand.
The hand of Democratic Death will not be controlled!
They started out pretty rational. They will be insane by 9. The DEBT CEILING! DOOMSDAY!
All over the country, idiot. Your side fell for the oldest play in the book - you turned these women into a lightning rod that shocked every Dem candidate in America. Thanks!
Which woman did I ever discuss apart from Palin and O'Donnell? Fiorina won't win California. Hatred of women at play in that one? Blanche Lincoln loses Arkansas? Hatred of women, again? Meg Whitman? Linda McMahon? What the hell are you yammering on about?
O'Donnell is a wacko/goofball with serious integrity problems and whether you think that somehow has anything to do with her being a woman says more about you, really.
Linda McMahon is as much of an Establishment-type as they come. A terrible choice to run on the R ticket... And now she's lost. No surprise there.
You'll probably see the same thing happen in California. Ms. Establishment Businesswoman Fiorina will lose, and it will be a loss that could have been prevented by running a more inspiring candidate.
"The talk right now is that if Harry Reid loses his seat, the re-elected Chuck Schumer will be the new Senate Majority Leader."
God help anyone who gets between Schumer and a microphone. And unfortunately, that would be a big microphone.
He still doesn't get it. He's still swinging at O'Donnell.
This is fun. Do it again Libtard.
Hey. You assholes ran her and lost the Senate because of it. Thanks for the smooth move. I'm glad you enjoyed her loss and your party's inability to capture the other house because of it. Certainly you're not a retard, of course. Brilliant.
You know who I miss? "Jeremy!" I never thought I'd write that ...
And where is Delta-Minus Liberal? Under sedation?
Sorry. VA-11 is in Northern Virginia; it's VA-9 that's in southwestern Virginia.
VA-11 is on my mind because with 77% of the precincts reporting the Republican is less than 50 votes ahead. Gonna be a long night.
Ritmo: What the hell are you yammering on about?
No, we need your kind to remain ignorant until 2012.
Hey look! Over there! Sarah Palin!
hahahahhaha
O'Donnell is a wacko/goofball with serious integrity problems...
Considering who used to hod that seat, I thought those were the prerequisites.
Ritmo: You assholes ran her and lost the Senate because of it.
Yes Ritmo. Its about O'Donnell. You are so smart!
[head pat]
Thanks for admitting you have no point, Fen. And guess what? You won't by 2012 either.
Enjoy your fluke election night.
"fluke"
Bwahahahaha! Ohgodmakeitstop.
Fen: O'Donnell and the stomper. Those are the two points Ritmo will be hanging on to until 2012 Fluke that the gains will be the largest in half a century.
So you're saying Delaware wasn't a competitive state?
I guess the flip side of not knowing where to place credit is not knowing where to lay blame.
Great governing principle, there. I'm sure your party will go very far with it.
CNN says 10% WI is in with Johnson leading Feingold 58% to 41%
Let's be clear, win or lose, Johnson really never "leads" Feingold in anything. Apart from inherited money from loaded spouses.
Ritmo: Over 50 years since a gain like this in the House. Half. a. century.
Nice job Dems: you had historic majorities in House and Senate and had the White House. Adios.
Fluke that the gains will be the largest in half a century.
If The Great Republican Recession lasts and stays as profound through 2012, sure, it won't be a fluke. But this time your stuffed suits have something to lose in the bargain.
So think about what you want this time.
Ron Johnson and Scott Walker are cruising: http://www.jsonline.com/
Unless there's a lot of fraud in Milwaukee they should just go ahead and call those races.
With all these scuzzball Republican teabaggers wining, I'm afraid to go outside tomorrow.
Let's be clear, win or lose, Johnson really never "leads" Feingold in anything. Apart from inherited money from loaded spouses.
garage, you didn't vote for John Kerry in 2004 did you?
Michael said...
Fen: O'Donnell and the stomper. Those are the two points Ritmo will be hanging on to until 2012 Fluke that the gains will be the largest in half a century.
Now, now, now. Get the terminology right. As President Obama taught us, it's not "hanging on to", it's "bitterly clinging to".
msnbc still mocking the tea party..."what are they really going to cut. They can live in "la-la land....etc".
I fear that Rachel Maddow is going to blow an aneurysm. Hate and loathing on display.
NYT says 15% WI is in. Johnson over Feingold 60 - 40%
O'Donnell concedes, that's one less pussy to gnaw at PinchingLoaf's worried brain tonight... Phew! Those pussies are so damned scary!
What am I worried about? I've long stated that it's unhealthy for there to be single-party rule. I'm in favor of gridlock and checks and balances. Not sure why that should mean I'm supposed to pretend that Christine O'Donnell isn't an idiot and a bigot. And, btw, she damaged the GOP's attempt to take the Senate.
I actually voted for Republican Rob Portman today in Ohio. Portman's totally second rate, but his opponent, Lee Fisher, was worse. Moreover, I prefer to have one senator from each party for my state. Not sure why Althouse was making a big deal out of Portman winning. It was a seat already held by the Republicans.
It doesn't seem that anything too surprising is happening in Ohio today. I would've liked to see Dennis Kucinich lose as InstaPundit was saying might happen, since he's helped wreck my city over the course of my life. But, apparently the GOP momentum just wasn't big enough to pull it off.
In the other hotly contested House seat in Northeastern Ohio, crooked Republican car salesman Tom Ganley is getting his ass kicked. I guess it didn't help that a woman he met at a Tea Party rally made sexual assault charges against him. Be careful at those Tea Party events!
Fox just called Walker.
Somebody remind me...what was that big game changing difference between 1994 and now?
Nice job Dems: you had historic majorities in House and Senate and had the White House. Adios.
Any idiot with the slightest understanding of elections knows that this was a referendum of the Democrats' handling of The Great Republican Recession.
Will you guys make it last through 2012? You guys are really running out of tricks in your bag and I'm not sure you want your "historic election" to backfire.
"Historic election" is becoming about the most hackneyed idea in American politics by now, in case you haven't noticed. How long did those Dem gains in 2006 last?
You guys are next. Enjoy the hot seat. We know how badly you hate to responsibly govern.
Rubio is coming! Rubio is coming! Obama be very afraid..He will eat you for lunch in 2012 even if he is just a VP candidate.
MSNBC should be talking about the thrashing the Dems are taking tonight.
