"Obama 52%, Clinton 37% for 2012 Democratic Nomination."

Gallup finds — with particular support among women and — in a poll limited to Democrats — "conservatives."

Would you like to see Hillary challenge Obama?
Yes. I'm against the Democrats and think it will hurt them.
No. I'm against the Dems and think Obama's a great target and Hillary's a strong candidate.
Yes. It will test Obama, making him better or replacing him with someone better.
No. She'll weaken Obama, and the chance that she'll do better isn't worth the risk.

My girl friend supports the President. So, do all her friends. This focus with Mrs. Clinton is just a way to distract us from our support for the President, Speaker, and Majority Leader. Put no effort. Mrs. Clinton has a job - SecState. Q.E.D.

Given choice between the two, and the culling of responses, this result shouldnt surprise.

However, I think that when Hillary decides not to run in 2012, it will be for other, unstated, reasons, having more to do with her husband's wishes than her personal ambition.

You have a girlfriend??

I think that the Democrats may need to run Hillary!, esp. if Palin looks like is going to get the GOP nomination. Or, maybe if she is just competitive.

I think that a lot of the bi-coastal elite is greatly underestimating Palin right now, and a lot of the rest of them are doing anything they can to smear her.

The problem for the Democrats is that one of their bigger demographics, middle class women, is defecting. And, it can't help the Democrats that many of Palin's picks were women running against White male liberal democrats.

The Democrats may need Hillary! to negate Palin's attraction by women. And Hillary! is playing her cards right, getting a good reputation, while staying out of Wash.,D.C. for all those controversial bill.

Hilla has been almost as big a disaster as Secretary of State as she was as a Presidential candidate.

The Zero will be challenged, and possibly unseated depending upon how things go in the coming year, but not by someone named Clinton.

Or Rodham.

PS Glad AP has a girl friend. At least there's someone that doesn't laugh at him.,

How do we know that to be true? My Life Partner laughs at me, quite often...usually I deserve it.

I don't think Hillary will run in 2012, personally. She got beat in '08, what makes her or her donors think it would be any different in 2012?

America's asshole wrote "Put no effort."

Where the fuck are you from, you semi-literate douche bag? And why do you lie about having a "girl friend"?

Aw hell, now I see you are trying to use Latin - what the fuck? Now you are illiterate in two languages. Go back to wherever you came from, and take hdhouse with you - I am sure he has money stashed in your 3rd world, urine soaked hell hole country of origin.

AP has a tiny spark of comedic talent, but he's nowhere near as funny as the commenter blighter over at Megan McArdle's place. Now there's a true genius.

Hillary will not be president. Either Obama regains enough stature to breeze through the nomination, or the Democrat brand is so damaged whoever they nominate loses in the general..

The exception would be if Obama recovers somewhat and then doesn't run. It's hard to imagine.

Yeah, the country is gonna elect ANOTHER do-nothing loudmouth whose greatest accomplishment is dodging Law enforcement/FOIA efforts.
Bring the screechy doormat on. We'll crush her almost as badly as her Bill did.

Actually I think Hillary has done a great job as Secretary of State. I would actually like to see her run as Vice President, or, if Obama decides not to run, to run as President. Trust her as a woman far more that Palin.

Trust me, a few years of the "outsiders" we will be begging for Hillary and the "insiders". Mark my words.

BTW, I am a middle class white woman and I would no more vote for Carly Fiorina for Dog Catcher than vote for her for the Senate. Go Babs.

Where's "I don't care." I hate it when multiple choices try to squeeze me into someone else's choice. I'm sure that when the follow through to the first two years has raised taxes sufficiently to cause another recession (or the second dip of this one), we'll elect President Pawlenty, or Romney or somebody.

SteveR म्हणाले...

Don't care, its the republican's election to lose, regardless and they are quite capable of that.

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

Hillary might win the nomination. She has the experience now, and she is trusted to be a socialist leaning American, while Obama is profoundly distrusted as a socialist leaning, American-hating Kenyan.

Of course - you're an insane leftist.

Crimso म्हणाले...

"Go Babs."

Didn't you hear? She's to be addressed as "Senator."

अनामित म्हणाले...

Actually I think Hillary has done a great job as Secretary of State.

Victoria, I'm genuinely curious ... Why do you believe that? Could you please tell me what you regard as her successes in international diplomacy, or whether you think any specific initiatives of hers will be successful at some time in the future?

DADvocate म्हणाले...

How about "Don't care"? Unless something major happens they're probably toast either way. Although, I'd prefer to see Hillary over Obama.

Bill म्हणाले...

If Obama is so damaged that he's beatable for the nomination, then the Democratic candidate will lose in the general election. Hilary's best chance is to be a good soldier through 2012, while keeping her skirts clean, then run again in 2016. But the Democratic Party hasn't been kind to losers.

Seriously, I'm blanking here. LBJ did not seek, RMN abdicated... When's the last time a sitting president did not get his party's nod?

jamboree म्हणाले...

No, it'll just force a repeat of 2008. If I thought the outcome would be different, I'd say "yes".

jamboree म्हणाले...

Yes, if Obama runs again, I think she should be VP. He's not getting along with Michelle anyway, right? ;-) She should have been VP the first time.

Palladian म्हणाले...

The only elected President ever to lose his party's nomination for re-election was Franklin Pierce in 1856, who lost to James Buchanan (from bad to worse). This loss, however, occurred before the advent of publicly-voted primaries; at the time, the Party chose its nominees.

The last unelected President (Arthur succeeded to the Presidency after President Garfield was assassinated) who sought and lost his party's nomination was Chester A. Arthur in 1884.

Clyde म्हणाले...

71% percent of poll participants (so far) picked one of the first two answers identifying themselves as "against the Democrats."

Make of that what you will.
